^^ hope the crash guard is sturdy enough to sustain any kind of crash or hit. Though, the weight is less as compared to other crash guards.

On Sunday I gave a pressure wash to my FZ-S at a local mechanic shop. After drying, I started the bike but was not starting. So I cleaned the spark plug cover and tried to start and it came to life. But in the process I tried a few times before cleaning the spark plug cover. But to vain. I normally don't use the choke in my daily run. This time I used the choke which was tight as expected since I have not used it for quite some time. After starting I have returned the choke to its original position. Now I am facing a peculiar problem. When the bike is running at high RPM there is no problem. But when I cruise in heavy traffic speed. The engine dies and refuses to start. But when I close the fuel knob and wait for some time and then crank the engine it starts. What could be the problem is it the choke or water in the carb/tank. Please advise.

Any views? I find it ok. Although, sometimes it coughs up and starts and sometimes at a single press. Whereas, my neighbours Honda shine just starts with one press

There might be water inside the fuel which might have gone through the side of filling cap of the tank ! Drain all the fuel in a transparent bottle and check , this might help you!

The choke is the culprit over here. My brother had the same issue and he had to replace the choke.

IMHO, it is advisable to use the choke everyday when you start the bike. This helps the engine to warm up with correct AFR.

No. The engine is the thing with fins over it. Gear box is right beside the gear lever. Engine transmits power to gear box thru crankshaft.

I'm pretty sure it's more than 150rs. I paid around 285 recently.

devils_friend Thanks for the reply bro!! Yes! but what i meant to ask is... we are saying that both transmission and engine oil are same/shared. So, on the right side of the engine(below petrol tank) we have cap to remove and fill engine oil so the same oil will also go for gearbox unit and engine unit. am i correct????

I did 115 on My Fazer
While on same road, same wind and all.
Fz did near 101-102.

Even me and bro, we also noticed.
Sometimes Fazer's fairing helps in aero-dynamics for sure.

My brother even did 124 on Agra Highway (U.P.) with Fazer.

Yes thats correct. Our bikes have engines that employ whats called a wet sump lubrication. Basically the engine crankcase (the part under the cylinder) acts as the oil sump and contains the engine oil. So the engine crankshaft and counter-balancing shaft are immersed in oil and the piston and cylinder receive oil when the crankshaft rotates by causing the oil to splash.
As for the transmission, the clutch and gearbox (the big circular thing at the back of the engine) are also part of the crankcase (an thus part of the oil sump) and they get immersed in the same oil.

Hope that helps!!

Cheers!!

300v is especially good if you ride hard and/or in very hot conditions.

I ride 1000kms per month and i normally keep the speed limit within 70. I use my bike only to commute from home to office.
