Try rubbing the drum with sandpaper (have seen svc mechs do that to make the drum smooth) and see if it helps.
That was my initial thoughts too, but then aren't they air tight or something ? The problem didn't appear in the past 4 years where I've ridden a lot in the rains.
The SVCs blindly ask to change the brake pad as soon as I say brake noise. I did get them to rub it with sandpaper and the sounds came back after 2-3 days.

Sandpaper is used to make it rough. More rough it is, more friction it would have. More would be the braking power. It is also used to remove dust and rust.

5k is too less for pads to wear as your riding style required a pad change at 20k last time. Just get the pads cleaned from someone else. Svc may have a link up with some pad manufacturer. [emoji23]

Are you guys talking about the front brake or rear? The rear ones are called brake shoes & front ones are the brake pads. So when brake pads make sound there is very less you can do other that changing them. Brake pads are open to atmosphere and don't get much affected by moisture. Whereas the brake shoes make noise due to moisture. Not to worry much if the brake shoes are making sound, Just clean them if possible and change only when the arrow on the drum points to the complete wear.

2 days back only, I was thinking to use this space to store something like tools or spares & today I happened to see at this image. This one is 2014 model FZ.
Does anybody know, is it any kind of utility box or some other part?

It is the rear tyre hugger and there is space but do not keep anything there as it can get jammed with the rear shock absorber during action.

                  Cheers

If so you can check your spark plug to see if your engine is running lean. A lean mixture causes excessive heat. Also have you fitted some sort of splash guard or soemthing like that behind the front wheel or in front of the engine?

                      Cheers!!

My bike has a splash guard fitted in front of the engine (behind the front wheel). Wondering if this could contribute to engine heating. Blocks air flow to some extent?

Yes, it does. Engine being air cooled requires ambient air for its cooling. Any restriction of air flow on to the engine will surely increase the heating of engine.

                        Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

You can try this mod instead . It's cheap & easy to do , doesn't stop air-flow and completely stops any mud from front wheels lifting to the engine-bay and your shoes . Has been very useful to me for more than a year now . Ask if you need details .

Which bikes mud guard rubber you have used, is it of bajaj's discover series, pls share more details.Iam looking for a bigger mudguard rubber for my rx-100 as the OE one's doesn't stops mud and water that much and whole of the underside of the engine, centre stand gets the hit and even the feet.
