Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
The ODO stands at 284xx kms. I had changed the first chain-sprocket set at 12k as mentioned by the manual (even though there wasn't much wear). And the current one is still going good. Not much wear visible. I clean the chain with diesel every alternate sunday and lube every sunday (even if my running is low)Originally posted by kusmaker View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hi Guys, anyone used CONTIGO 140 x 70 ????
I'd been using Pirelli Sports Demon for more than 30k kms and it is now time to change. But since Pirelli is not available in my area, i would like to buy either Michellin Pilot Sports Or Contigo.Bike riding gives you a sense a freedom which u don't get while driving a car..

I read somewhere that the contigos are slightly inferior to the PSD's (the contigos on the CRB that is), but wait for someone else to confirm.Originally posted by vishnu2162 View PostHi Guys, anyone used CONTIGO 140 x 70 ????

Really surprised as to how the bike is supposedly better in performance even when it lost peak-power. The biggest complaint of the Fazer was that it wasnt too happy over 100kmph, wonder how this will fare at that point. Surely the missing power should show up somewhere !!Originally posted by Farhan Kashif View PostGuyz Check this out the comprehensive Test Ride Review of New Yamaha FZ-S Fi Version 2.0

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
However the bike was absolutely brand new even Yamaha people have filled the engine oil in front of me, I dragged the bike till 114 Kmph and it pulled nicely without any hiccup. Yamaha really did a good job, they not only succeeded in reducing the weight, tough marginally but also managed to increase the performance, what I wonder is what if Yamaha did the same with 153cc engine ? it would have been sheer fun.Originally posted by pranav0091 View PostI read somewhere that the contigos are slightly inferior to the PSD's (the contigos on the CRB that is), but wait for someone else to confirm.

Good , I got a couple of questions. Going ONLY by the top end is this bike more able or less able than the non-FI version ?
The reason being, I had made up my mind to buy the previous Fazer, then heard of the imminent refresh and held back expecting a power-bump. Now I find the power has gone down and am seriously considering the P200NS or wait for the 200SS. Luckily my budget too has grown a little bit I can sight even the CBR250 now. Basically its a mess - I am considering completely different bikes all the way from a Fazer to a CBR250.
But if the top end hasnt taken a hit for the worse I might as well save the extra maoney and settle with the Fazer itself and buy a pair of projectors and better ride-gear with the spare cash.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Bro, thats not your fault we all have faced similar kind of situation, in fact still facing. As far as comparision between the old Fz and new Fz is concerned, the new one is better, power is something which matters if you really feel it or being able to use it, considering this fact the new Fz might be less powerful then the old one but has better punch and better feel, that is why it is called that it has better performance.Originally posted by pranav0091 View PostSo you wrote that rewiew ?

Now coming to your second question, frankly it is quite subjective and depends upon the budget, however based on the options you have mentioned CBR25OR is best buy. Hope you got the answer.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
ContiGo is medium compound and will supposedly last longer. As evident from the make & type, the grip isn't so impressive. It pretty much does the job but it is less superior than the Pirelli counterpart any day. The resistance to puncture lies in between soft & hard compound, so do the guesswork.Originally posted by vishnu2162 View PostHi Guys, anyone used CONTIGO 140 x 70 ????

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
hi guys,
after 3 years and 50k kms i said goodbye to my 2011 limited edition (fazy)fazer. sold her to a friend.
she was good to me, though i faced a leaking bore and had to change the piston and bore. i guess it was due to using mineral oil and doing long rides without giving much break to the engine, don't know.
anyway, gonna be staying in yammie family, will be booking a R15 tomorrow

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
If fully consumed, how will the brake work ?Originally posted by bikashnayak View PostToday I open up the front disc Brake Fluid box and found that the oil is in Yellow color ,6-7 months before it was white don't know how it changed. Should I go for the brake fluid change or leave it as it is till it consumed completely .

The change in color is due to oxidation and i have heard that the brake fluid is highly reactive with moisture in air.
Change the fluid if you wish.
Ride safe and have fun.

Guys,
Is there really no way to adjust the front brake lever light switch?
On my fazer now, the brake light comes on when I touch the brake lever! Literally!!
Is there no way to adjust this?
Cheers!!Your pair of feet can tire you... Your pair of wheels can never tire you...

But after reading the link posted about fazer n the speculation about it getting higher power my old doubt of getting more power from same displacement engine resurfaced.
So what Im asking is that is changing gear ratio the only way of getting more power from same cc engine ??
