NGK doesn't list Iridium option for FZ16, but has one for Fazer:Originally posted by GauravB728 View PostI'm planning to replace the spark plug. How about the NGK iridium plugs do they offer significant benifit over the stock one?

No real benefits as such. NGK Iridium costs bomb and in that price you can change stock one many times.Originally posted by GauravB728 View PostI'm planning to replace the spark plug. How about the NGK iridium plugs do they offer significant benifit over the stock one?

I guess the Fazer they are referring to here is the old Yamaha Fazer (the one with the really weird looking headlamps.Originally posted by SparKot View PostOh, perhaps NGK got it wrong in their Database.

Here is an image
Also I wonder if the Iridium variant of the CPR8EA-9 spark plug has been discontinued since its not listed in the table posted above.
But I'm sure I've seen the Iridium spark plug for FZ16 in shops. Was thinking to buy it but decided to go for G-Power instead.
The part number of the Iridium spark plug is CPR8EAIX-9 (IX for Iridium, GP for G-Power).
Here is a pic I got from the net and I've seen this in shops.
Maybe the spark plug is discontinued or NGK does not think it applies to FZ.
Cheers!!Your pair of feet can tire you... Your pair of wheels can never tire you...

Hey thanks manOriginally posted by kusmaker View PostCongratulations man for your new bike, first read the owners manual very carefully after purchasing the bike, change the oil as mentioned, you can opt for ss oil but only go for this change after 5000kms.One can't say about the mileage of the vehicle as the vehicle is totally newer version but according to the company verdict you should be able to get around 45km/l mileage if you ride the bike sanely.
Should i use SS or FS after 5k km?? and which brand to use. Castrol or Motul?

Use SS after 5000kms, you can switch to FS after 10000kms but Fs oils tends to evaporate in intense heat you have to keep topping up the oil after every 2 to 2500kms, and no question of going for castrol always use Motul.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Test driven fz v2 yesterday and dot to say yamaha has done a amazing job once again.
Here are some experiences of ride
1-startup is on the spot, as you fireup the rpm sticks at 1300 no hicupps.
2-clutch is really smooth, there is no need to accelerate to launch release the cluch and bike starts moving.
3-engine feels more responsive and gear shift more smoother then before
4-new tyre design feels more sticky to the tarmac resulting in better handling.
5-seats are more comfortable now and much more to the pillion

Thanks Man.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View Post3500-4000kms.
But do keep an eye on the oil level. FS oils tends to vaporize.
How much is the oil quantity in one fork? I have bought only 1 bottle (350ml) of Motul 20W fork oil. Is it sufficient for both the forks or do I need to buy another bottle?sigpic
