    • Hi everybody,I have been using Pulsar 135LS for the last 2 years. Now I'm thinking of upgrading. I really like the R15 v2.0,but the price is too much for a 150cc.Instead,I was thinking of buying FZ-S/Fazer,as its much cheaper with a fatter tyre and suspension. I want good pickup and mileage along with good looks. Technology-wise,R15 is more advanced than FZ,right? Does the new FZ sport dual horns or a single horn? Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.Thanks.

an r15 even @150c.c. is capable of giving a very clos fight to the 223c.c. karizma on a straight road....

but if you are on a track none of the present indian bikes can defeat it...

technology wise R15 is way ahead of anything in the market... fz doesnt sport dual horns it still has a single horn but dont let that deter you as another horn can be easily fitted in the fz depending on your choice...

        • Guys,

Day before yesterday I completed my 6th service. Whenever I take the delivery of the bike after servicing, the bike feels smooth and as good as new. But this time, it felt very harsh, rough as if there was no lubrication in the engine. When I took a test ride, I noticed that whenever I left the accelerator in 1-3 gears, the bike would give resistance. It's normal phenomenon that bike will slow down after leaving the accelerator but in my case it was giving strong resistance and a slight jolt. Earlier my bike used be very smooth and made less sound while accelerating. After this service, it was like I was ripping the hell out of the bike in the first 3 gears. The RPM level reaches 5-6k very quickly. So, I complained to the supervisor. He fiddled with something near the engine where fuel switch sits. He then asked me to take a ride. I felt that it was a bit smoother than before. I asked him to make it as it was before the servicing. He did something and I took a test ride again. It felt much better than before so I told him that it's OK. But, there is a very little scope of reaching 30km/hr in the service center premises. So when I took it out on the road, it kinda felt same again. Also, when I asked the supervisor, what did you do? He said " Bass tere mann ka samadhan kiya (Just satisfied your mind)"

Also, I feel that lately the bike is consuming fuel at a fast rate. My visits to the petrol pump are becoming frequent than before. I didn't change my riding style and I ride in "Splendor" mode most of the time.

Here is what I asked him to do in the 6th service:
          Oil Change
          Oil Filter Change
          Chain cleaning and lube
          Tightening of brakes

My Fazer is going to complete one year in few days and I'm a complete newbie. I don't know what to do. Any thoughts?

Both R15 and FZ give an average between 40-45.
R15 2.0 is the most brilliant 150cc bike available and now it looks even better then before....its worth every penny u pay for.
FZ lookz amazing and is a breeze riding in city conditions.
I have had no issues with My FZ for past 2 years and its running perfect with regular servicing from time to time.

If fuel average is ur main concern then either bikes wont be good for u. Cos after LS 135's 60kmpl, these bikes will be a big drop in average values.

Thanks for all the help.My ride consists of zero highway driving and I hate people sitting on my bike,in my absence. So an R15 would draw hell of a lot of attention.Pillion riding will be very inconvenient, specially for my mom and gf? Firstly,I want something having very good quality which I can keep easily for 5 years, without getting rusted parts. Love Yammies for the monoshocks and wide tyres. Bajaj bikes get rusted very easily, although I take extreme care of my bike. How are the charges for servicing and parts of R15 and FZ? Any rumours about Yamaha updating the FZ?

                        • Just bought a FZ-16. A excellent bike with great handling and excellent engine. Its so smooth. I added 1 Nulon additives to the engine oil. I am getting mileage between 35-40 now. Got the bike on 30-12-2011 and till date i have clocked it 250KM.

Note :- My other bikes are Royal Enfield Electra 5S , TVS victor.

To all other owners, just love the tyre and monoshock! So thinking of selecting FZ-S,instead of R15 and I plan to keep it for a really long time. What say, people?

very good choice.there will be no worry for the bike for coming years.my one is around 2 & 1/2 yr old....I didnot pay anything else for maintenance apart from regular service. You will enjoy the Fz's road presence & calm posture.Enjoy your Fz if you are going to buy...No need for any extra maintenence just service the bike regularly..
P.S-- on 26th dec I fell on accident..my right leg got broken..rod was placed so no riding for atleast 6 monthsNo scratch on the bike during accident apart from the front fork bending,so very bad new year for me.Now my Fz is standing with bend fork...I fell because of the front disk brake which I pressed only halfway to avoid a SUV rear ending crash and it got locked..seriously Fz disc brakes are one of the best as the disc brake full set up is actually coming from BREMBO-BYBRE but yamaha never mention the name of bybre in their disc for Fz,only some models are having the name BYBRE written..any way for the past week I was bed ridden..hope will be back on feet soon & make my bike as good as new & ride...BUT seriously hoping to buy a car for my family riding...
Biking will always be my favourite pass time & again ride but SAFE RIDING...
