Don't get me wrong on this.. but unless you do some extensive tests like highway runs at good speeds, generic runs till 5k kms and try and provide an overall report... personally i would not consider this oil to be OK to be filled in our respective bikes nor recommend them..Originally posted by muztariq View PostYes and No..
Yes, The oil is API SJ rated.. and manual recommends API SG or higher. It meets this standard as SJ is higher spec oil than SG. (API ratings increase alphabetically)
No, as manual also specifies JASO MA.. which this oil does not meet....
I tried putting my reports regarding 300V FS to the best of my capabilities till 5000 kms. So i guess, If possible please do share it whenever you do complete your runs.. If it is good then It will be indeed something new we all will learn on this thread.

It's also good that you are bothering me too much and also do me a favour that you don't twist statements from different threads and imposter a bad image on me, I won't mind even if go on doing it.There is a lake which seems to look like a great sea but the sad part is that, it can flow like a small streamOriginally posted by Mad Mik View PostIts good to see you come running when muztariq is calling you. Guys, need some help.
I feel the carb tune is running too rich for normal riding.
The ODO is 1500kms, post 1400 i could feel that the parts had set in, and officially the run-in is over, but will open her up only after the oil change.
Ok, so getting to the problem, i have been running a bit too rich i guess, i keep getting popping sound on de-accelaration, and some time during start-up too.
I tried removing the spark plug to conform but its too darn tight, not able to remove it with the toolkit coming along with the bike. Need some tip on that as well.
And finding some flat spot/missing in the 4-5k rpm, which is the rpm i stay in most time(road conditions and idiots popping in front).
So, exerts please help.Does the popping signify being too rich,(bike is bone stock, carb untouched) ? also what about the flat spot / missing in that 4-5k rpm range ?
P.S: I guess the mileage is a little less too, rich mixture indication again i guess.
Also another thing, the starter motor failed within 2 weeks, its a good thing kicker was there, though its a pain in the arse to use it. Got it fixed under warranty.
Cheers
Ride Safe

What you and me consider as correct and advice ppl can be wrong as per the book.. What is wrong and what is right cant be decided by me and you..Originally posted by punarvasu View Post.
If only the right thing should be said on the forum then let me say - Go to the SVC and get it checked is the correct statement! But arguable SVC is also wrong most of the times.. How many times have you seen guys complaining - I went to SVC and they gave me my bike as such! They cant figure out etc etc.
example: guys here use FS oils and extend the drain interval.. its a widely followed tradition. But, the right thing is to follow manufacturer recommended drain interval. No matter what oil you use.
an FAQ from Motul:
300V or 8100/6100 ? Make your choice :
Motul info - evolutionm.net
If you read the above statements, it is quite evident that Motul recommends 8100, 6100 for normal daily use(in cars) and also states manufacturer drain interval should be followed!
I cant just pounce upon others claiming extended drain intervals is OK for the engine.
IF YOU WANT JUST THE CORRECT INFORMATION - GO AS PER MANUAL AND SVC
For your information I am not supporting(backing up) anyone's wrong behavior here.. I dont even know Jonahmano.. If you dont like a post refer it as abuse and let the moderators decide..
But, I from the bottom of my heart want to read statements that make my mood lighter, some smileys, some light talk and an environment which creates mutual respect. A person with zero knowledge is also a person. If he is giving away wrong info first take responsibility to correct him. I have seen both the worlds - Giving wrong info myself and getting corrected. And correcting ppl giving wrong info. But, I am thankful that I posted the wrong info and got corrected. Else, it could have been a life threatening situation for myself if I followed the advice which I rendered in 'good faith'.
What are guys like Madmik, Lucky and Shv18 doing - Explaining each and every bit in detail.. Posting pictures to help others understand.. going places to search for tyres available for FZ.. it takes up a lot of time and effort. These guys never ask any question on the forum.. they are just giving away the info for benefit of the general public. They are not paid for it and could have survived happily without posting anything or even joining the forum. Neither I find their pics anywhere on the forum or otherwise - They are doing it anonylously. But I appreciate shv18 more.. he never jumps on others giving wrong info. That doesnot mean I dislike Lucky or Maddy.
Dispensing knowledge is also an art! Every professor got knowledge, but you remember those who dispensed the knowledge which you could take home without making you feel inferior. I consider Madmik and Lucky as artists.. but I also consider Jonahmano as a budding artist who is trying in all his immature ways to learn the art.. Would not jump on him for every wrong statement he makes.
I have a younger brother and a big brother.. (lets not talk about myself
)
My big brother is always correct(most of the times), my younger brother is not. But my younger brother has all what it takes to become as mature as my big brother one day.
Sometimes my big brother will hit my younger bro for his misdeeds.. I will come in between and save my younger bro. That doesnt mean me and my younger bro has teamed up against the big b.

If anyone amongst you is encountering rough gear shifts and rough engine. This is an exceptional oil. Though priced higher than normal mineral oils.. but worth every penny.
Completely replaces fully synthetic or semi synthetic oils in comfort.
Someone else(@sandeepcf) has also used in it fazer (details on the engine oil thread) and is happy about it. He covered some 2000 km on it.
The engine oil is safe and there is no clutch slippage in my or his bike.
I just cant imagine 20 km on a mineral oil (my bike is so rough) and here I am using this oil from 1100 kms.
When going to buy the oil dont use the word Base II.. it is just to tell you that the oil is not the regular Base I mineral oil and is better refined. It is not a Base III which is major constituent of Shell Advance Ultra 10w40.
Just wanted to share with you all who are investing in FS oils just for comfort. You can read the review of the oil on the engine oil thread. I am so happy with the oil, that I will (hopefully) never put anything else in the bike.

Muztariq sahib, can you share the image of the can for the benefit of people like me. I'd also like to experiment with Shell Delvac.
BTW, what about Shell Rimula (R1, R3 & R4) ?
