Sadly yes, the mounting system is onto the faring Vs brake lever assembly.Originally posted by kinshuk.arya View Postdont think they can be used in fz though they have a different clamping mechanism...
However, Has anyone tried removing the mirrors off and swapping them over?
I understand they are a ball and socket type arrangement. Perhaps you can persuade (with some lubricant) them to part and swap the actual mirror section over?2013 Ducati M795 with a few mods in here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/superbik...95-owners.html

Had a continuous loss of front tyre pressure. Got it checked today and the front rim has a slight bend. To add to my horror the rim also has a small hole which is caused due to impact near the spoke of the alloy.
My mechanic gave me these options:- Get the rim repaired and the hole patched with help of welding (Cost: 800 Rs)
- Insert a tube and ride for few days and check the rim condition again (Havent found any tube with 100/80 R17 size)
- Get the rim replaced from SVC (Sure it will cost above 3000Rs)
So Guys what do you suggest? Need inputs from your end.

Rims appear to be cast, not forged so be careful with any repairs.Originally posted by RAK View PostHad a continuous loss of front tyre pressure. I'd go with the replacement option. After all how much is you and your pillion passengers life worth?Last edited by Mad Mik; 05-28-2012, 09:41 PM.2013 Ducati M795 with a few mods in here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/superbik...95-owners.html

instead of spending around 1k now and later replacing the rim again for 3k, you can directly get it replaced...
I had a very similar issue with the rear tyre and i filled in the air daily before finally changing the alloy after few weeks

if you have the moolah go for the rim replacement... it may be dangerous while going on high speeds.....Originally posted by RAK View PostHad a continuous loss of front tyre pressure. and waise bhi tankhaw to aane wali hai 2-3 din me fir kya tension??? 1-2 baar bahar kam khana ye mahina.....
otherwise i would go for the tube idea but then again it is dangerous....
since the wheels are alloys it is not advisable to weld them....Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

@jamie changing the rear viewm mirrors will not void the warranty however getting a more powerful horn might... but then again if anything goes wrong first swap your modded horn with your stock one and then take it to the svc....Originally posted by jamiejako View Postdoes changing the rear view mirrors, horn etc. during the warranty period void the entire warranty?Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

I was thinking of repairs as an option only if anyone here has successfully done it and haven't faced any issues yet.Originally posted by Mad Mik View PostRims appear to be cast, not forged so be careful with any repairs.

Yeah I also had the same doubt about the welding and its impact on the alloy. I am also filling air from last 2 days and riding normally.Originally posted by Calibre View PostTo my knowledge im doubtful how long the welding will hold on(please correct me if im wrong)...

I have an appointment with Kamla Yamaha for saturday and will get it replaced instead of trying permutation and combinations. Also planning to get the servicing done before the monsoons. Not sure of that yet.Originally posted by shv18 View Posti would suggest go for a replacement alloy rim.. i understand it is indeed a total fatkaaa but is worth spending!!
Cheers,
Monsoons are starting up and for now the riding is restricted to city but once monsoons starts frequent highway trips are on the cards. So I am thinking of getting it replaced ASAP. The alloy wheel cost just 1950+200 (Installation) as per Imtiyaz from Kamla Yamaha. Tomorrow is the best day of month for my accounts, so no worries.Originally posted by kinshuk.arya View Postif you have the moolah go for the rim replacement... it may be dangerous while going on high speeds.....

HiOriginally posted by shv18 View PostHi,
Do you have the service record of the bike you purchased? when was the last time the spark plug, air filter, chain & sprockets and all necessary fluids were replaced?? Which engine oil was used in the last service?? which brand?? It is difficult to judge the condition of the bike without knowing the history. Whether the earlier owner abused it or did all the necessary maintenance on time is something you will find from him only.
Legally you should get the bike's registration transferred to your name at the earliest.
Cheers,
I changed spark plug, air filter engine oil, clutch cable, etc and didi a complete service after I bought it.
Till now I have given my bike for service and other problems only to Yamaha SVC. I think they are using Yamalube.
I don't need beat sound. I need smooth & crisp sound like unicorn. Do I need to do any injection tunning?
Also please recommend me proper tyre pressure for front and rear(new one) wheels:
-road condition: good
-city commuting
-mostly riding with pillion
Thanks in advance
