The pads have run around ~2k.. Were changed last month something..
Looks like have to change the oil completely.. The rides gonna be 2 in december..
And is the oil available at svc DOT 4 ?

I am not sure. Depends on SVC to SVC. A lot of times SVCs have DOT 3 in stock rather than DOT 4.

You may purchase it from : Welcome to Motul

If i remember correctly Castrol also manufactures DOT 4 brake oil though the problem lies with lot of fake ones being sold with the Castrol tag. Bear in mind, the old brake oil has to be completely bled out while the new brake oil is poured from the top. This is done to ensure that no air pockets are formed which will otherwise hamper the braking and reduce the bite.

Also it would be a good idea to check if there are any gum or greasy deposits on the front discs. A lot of times the car wash shops spray diesel on the disc brakes which drastically reduces the performance of the braking efficiency of the front .

What you meab to say that we have to pour the fresh oil while the older one is being drained. ? Ot normally first we bled the older one and then pour the fresh one..? Got confused with this..

        Ride safe and have fun.

The sound is coming from the exhaust and it comes when the catalytic convertor in the exhaust cools. While running, how can you hear the noise?? I havent heard the sound when i ride the bike.

              Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

No!! when I stop and hear it, it clearly sounds like its coming from somewhere in or around the engine! the sound is like a water drops dropping (and no, nothing is dropping outside the bike!) and I hear it while riding too, when there is less throttle (therefore less sound from the bike) and quiet surroundings, and while at a stop, I can hear it pretty clearly!

As the above member has said.. It happens due to the cooling of system (engine+exhaust)
That is why when the bike is switched off, we hear this sound..
And I have never heard this when the bike is running.. Only after swtiching off, the tickling starts..
And if you think its something else.. Better visit svc..

Just go the svc and call a mech to have a look at the bike and tell him this.. They won't ask for any charge..

And the free service means that the labour charge is not added.. Thats it..

I have got the delivery of my bike two weeks back, currently going through break-in period. I have completed 500Kms, do I still have to maintain the 4500 rpm band? As per manual I just have to keep the rpm lower than 6.5k. What do you guys suggest?

Yesterday my rear fatboy got his first puncture. I was sad to get it even before completing a month. "Its a tyre, bound to get puncture" that is how I consoled myself.
The puncture strip inserted in the tyre is prodruding out about 3-4 mm, does it get wear off or stay there for life?

During the break in period, maintain the required RPM as mentioned in the manual. Stick to it. It will be good for the bike and in turm be helpful to you in the long run.

The puncture strip wears out over a period of time. Maintain correct tyre pressure to keep punctures at bay.

Correct procedure as mentioned on these puncture kit is to cut off the remaining seal strip with a blade.
