Back on the bike after more than a month and WHAT A DAY !!!! learnt a "key" lesson too ...
Firstly , The rush of getting back on the bike was superb and then to just feel that bike running so well even after a hiatus felt so good ... to top it all , I had the pleasure of pushing it to triple digits too ... Taking the bends on mysore road at 100+ was simply brilliant ... I felt like being introduced to the thrill of it all over again ...
Secondly , on my way back from my test , I stopped at a mall for lunch , in the process of locking my helmet and taking off my gear ... I left my bike key in the bike ( slot for removing the seat ) ... I go around , have a lazy lunch and return to find my bike missing ...
, Heart and vitals in my mouth , mind completely numb , I had no clue what to do ... went around looking for it , finally went and asked the security ... he had some fun , he said he had no clue , inquired about my bikes details ... all this time i was getting restless ,
Finally had to push him in a corner , i asked how in the hell he did not check the parking ticket before letting the bike out and that they were now responsible ... he backtracked , started telling some story about how he found another activa with 1.2 crores worth of property documents inside , still not telling me about my bike ... after a lot of such stories without knowing whether my bike was actually safe I was going bonkers and then , I had to go to the security cabin , write down my name , address and a statement saying i had left the key in my bike and i collected it from security ... JEEZ , and then i was made to wait close to half an hour , the security expected some "dough" , which i didn't give ... another guy led me to my bike which was stored almost a mile away ... took it and sped off feeling like an utter moron
...

They had hidden it ... that security guard was like , That other guy whose activa he found said he offered the dude 1000 bucks and this guy refused it seems ... and another guy gave him 500 and he didn't take that too ... I thought "alright man , I ain't givin you anything ..." He purposely tried to piss me off ... I had to wait while he gave parking tickets to others and when no one came I was made to hear his stories , all the while without knowing about my bike's safety ... crazy experience but atleast i learnt somethingOriginally posted by deville_56 View Post@Nand: Actually was it stolen or they hid it to get some money??

wow... i dont think it i possible... a mileage of 45+ is feasible but i dont think it can be achieved with constant speeds of 70kmph even on highways.........Originally posted by Sunjay Kumar View PostAfter a lot of thinking i too gave up the idea of going for the 15T sprocket

got the tyre repaired, there were 4 different spots with something or the other lodged into the tyre, the repair guy took 150/- for each one.. total cost 600/-Originally posted by digitalD View PostGuys, need suggestions for a better rear tyre than the stock ones..
Last night it got punctured and not because it ran over some sharp object, but just the regular loose gravel from road .. and due to the rains, the loose gravel and pebbles have got multiplied there is no way one can escape them..
The rear tyre has a small pebble stuck in it.. I haven't removed it yet.. I'am not sure if this tyre can be repaired at all.. even if it would be repaired, I feel it wouldnt last for long. So, I might as well just replace it with a better one..
Which one should I go for..? which make which model? it would be great if you can share your personal experience with it.. also, where can I get it in Navi Mumbai area and for how much ?
I tried to inquire about the replacement tyres too, but MRF Revz has been reported to be out of stock for almost 2 months now and Pirelli SD were not available in Navi Mumbai.. The dealer however suggested that I can use another one which is 120/80 - 17 and would be a direct fit.. the price for this one was 2350/-
I didnt want to go for a thinner one so I refused.. but honestly, what options have I got now.. if Revz continue to be out of stock and Pirelli are >3500 ..
and so much trouble only within less than a year of owning the bike..
I never thought I would ever say this, but really, this is now getting to be an expensive and painful affair.. In less than a year, I have got both front and rear brakes replaced, so is the case with air-filter and I would need to replace the clutch plate and SPRocket too in a few days (just waiting for monsoons to get over). During the past few months, I had to take the bike for servicing every few days for something or the other.. All this, when I have been regular with the scheduled servicing.
Yes, I ride ~60 kms daily to work and yes, I ride at 90+ speeds most times.. but my logic is, if I had to go any slower, I would have settled for a splendor in the first place. Why go for a higher capacity bike when you dont want to use its power? .. And if a Fazer cant handle 90+ speeds without so many issues, its a big fail IMHO..
P.S.: I've noticed that off late, not many people have been responding to my posts here... are my questions too stupid to be bothered about or am I really being ignored?Last edited by digitalD; 08-01-2011, 10:10 AM.

, But I think the Revz and the PSD are gonna be prone to punctures , the PSD also being a soft compound tyre ... try for some 130/70 profile tyre ... ping some questions in the "tyre's" thread , those guys can give you ideas ...
And problems maybe due to too much of aggressive riding , I mean the bike can take only that much abuse , it is also a machine with rotating parts which are going to wear out if pushed hard .
Well I'd say you've got the wrong end of the bargain here , maybe it's specific to your bike alone ... like for me , I've had my starter motor changed twice , once because of short circuiting due to rain and once coz it was faulty ... so somethings just tend to happen bro ... Stick with your bike man!People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

@DigitalID
Sorry to hear about the tyre condition
what is the pressure you fill in the rear and front tyre
and how frequently do you check it ?
Hearing all this i eeel like is should try and get a MRF Revz and stock it for future use
I asked my friend at the SVC about why every ones going for the sport daemon even after it being heavier he told that in Kerala currently Revz is only available in malapuram
Regarding the tyre how old is it?
I suggest you to go to the MRF office and get the tyre checked
At SVC they charge 100 per puncture
i had got 2 fixed 2 months back

now that we are at it has anyone thought of using the Continental tyre used on CBR250? its shares the same profile of PSD (140/70 17). so i'm guessing its gonna be a direct fit. the ODMAG review mentions it to be good.Originally posted by nand15 View PostNow thats really bad man !!! 6 punctures
