+1 to kinshuk's comments ... but also the engine oil they are using also makes a difference in terms of smoothness on slick gear shifts.. you have now two points to throw at them.

P.S. i don't work at Motul ... just a happy customer propagating their good stuff to all fellow riders

    cheers

I have changed only the chain, but thanks for your advise will change the sprockets as well, and my bike has done 23,000+kms.....

and about the jerking i thought the service includes clutch and accelerator overhauled but not sure whether those guys do it or not.

Will change the sprockets and c the performance of it.

      Thanks mate Cheer!!
      Mate,

Go through the bike's bible "service manual" and you shall have all the answers... don't ever blindly believe whatever the svc guys tell you.. most of them are robotic idiots who will throw a stupid pointer or two to show that they are very knowledgeable!! Always change the sprocket along with the new chain and religiously clean the chain and then lube the chain with OKS chain spray or motul chain spray every 500 kms.. The interval between clean ups may decrease if your bike gets exposed to a lot of mud or dusty environment... that should reduce the sound coming from the chain completely..

and no these guys don't clean the clutch or accelerator cable but rather just put lube oil... if the dirt or smug clogs the freeplay of the clutch or accelerator.. the bike may show symptoms like you have mentioned with yours.. although i am not absolutely sure that it IS THE PROBLEM happening with your bike.. but definitely worth a shot... plus i would recommend that you should also replace both the cables if you are still on stock for the last 23,000kms.. won't cost you that much...

      cheers

        • Changed my inner sprocket to 15T on experimental basis for touring purposes. Highway cruisability improved drastically, but at the cost of acceleration and mileage (need more revving to get good acceleration). Tested range (kmph@rpm) 63@4000, 68@4500, 76@5000, used to be 58, 62 and 72 respectively.

to answer your question.. yes it is possible... but i don't think any of the svc has any stock of the new colour panels yet. Better to check with them regarding the availability...

pricing wise unless the rates have gone up.. you can replace all the panels at 3500 bucks..

yes it is possible to change the colour to competition white.....
there are two ways to do that.
                      1. change the entire body with yamaha genuine body parts whit those of competition white.... but i dont know whether yamaha will be willing to give you those parts so soon.... the approximate price of the various parts are as follows:
                      a. petrol tank cover = 520rs each
                      b. front fender = 400rs
                      c. side panels = 200rs each
                      d. rear panels = 180rs each

                      2. the second way is to get it repainted from a local paint shop in the city. the cost of which will vary depending on the paint and the charges of labour.

after changing the color of the bike you might have to face some hassles if ever the bike is caught by police or in accident as the color of the bike in the RC book will be something else. so its better if you first clear it with the local RTO or else your friend can take the risk.... its his choice....

it'll work out much cheaper of he switches body panels.

a decent paint job with decals will prolly run over 4000/4500.

525 is the price of ngk iridium spark plug for fz.... first the disadvantages: costs almost three times that of normal spark plug.

advantages: significantly longer life (dont know how much), better performance (according to some), and poser value...
