  • Power socket mod and multiple phone charger

    Hi All,

Finally got the cigarette socket/charger ready. Now i can install the multiple port charger for charging mobile phone incase i do reach down to a place where remote charging is a must Below are the images of the same:

Pic 1 & 2: The cigarette socket connected to the battery and starter cable.

Pic 3, 4 & 5: The charger being connected to the socket.

The power comes on only when the key is inserted and turned to ON position which acts like a safety system. The socket itself has an extension cable and also the charger itself has a long cable so it can reach anywhere right to the front of the handlebar. Now the socket can be used for powering devices like a portable air pump or GPS devices or right now assist me in getting the GPS data logger readings.

    Cheers,

    • Yamaha FZS 2012 model Tank Graphics

      Hello,

My FZS is just 2 months old and some idiot has scratched the graphics on the tank of the bike on the right side. Can I get a new sticker? If yes, where can I get one in Mumbai?

      Thanks,

      • Front brake light switch adjustment.

        Guys,

Went to the SVC yesterday for adjusting the front brake light switch. It was very annoying, the brake light switches on the front and back are extremely sensitive and they activate the light with the slightest movement of the lever/pedal. Adjusting the light switch for the read brake was quite easy but not so with the front, so went to the SVC.
There the head mechanic said that the front light cannot be adjusted.

He asked me to change my riding habit and not run with my fingers on the brake lever while riding. I find this rather weird.
Anybody got there front brake light switch adjusted?? Anyone feels that its extremely sensitive and activates the brake light with the slightest pull of the lever?

        Cheers!!

        • Joel's FFE for sale

          Hi,
I'm selling my old FFE (Joel's) since I bought the new one. The old FFE has a small dent underside of it, not visible & no affect in performance. FFE has fiberglass sheets filled in & comes with black powder coating. Instead of rivets I have installed allen screws for easy maintenance. Interested buyers message me. Photo as attached.

          P.S.
          Still available

            • Hello dear members

I have a 3 month old FZ-S. Today I met with a small accident and my bike fell of on the left side.
Luckily no injury . Here's a list of damage to bike:

              1) The crash-guard is a bit loose now.
              2) The left foot pedal doesn't go up now. I think the spring got broken.
3)The highlighted part of the side stand is a bit bent. This combined with the left foot rest not going up is a bit annoying.

              Luckily no scratch or anything.

              Now my question is:
My next free service is on March 26th. So should I:
              1) Get these issues fixed from Authorized SVC on the scheduled date?
              2) Get it fixed from the SVC tomorrow?
              or
              3) Get it fixed from a local mechanic ? If yes,, will it void warranty ?

And how much will these things cost?

If you can live with it, you can wait till next service.

YOu can fix it with SVC or local mech, won't affect warranty.

                    • Hi Krish,
I got the fiberglass sheet & glass wool for free.
Me & one of my friend put in the glass wool, sandwiched between the fiber glass sheets.
Overall cost of welding, plating & powder coating is less than Rs. 500. Had some contacts which helped me a lot, especially my friend.

                      • Hi all....
While cleaning my bike, i found the white spring kind of thing is broken which is wrapped around the lever pulled by the clutch wire near front sprocket when we press the clutch.
What is the purpose of that spring? my clutch is working fine.

And a big thanks to XBHP family for providing tips and tricks, very helpful in maintaining the bike.

Thanks for the info mate..wilctry to source it out. One more query..do we have to do chrome platinf before powder coat or just direct powder coating would suffice ?

                            Hi,
You will have to remove the chrome plating completely before the powder coating. If you plainly do the powder coating or paint it, that will not last.
Except for the dB killer & end cover, the rest has been powder coated. The tip was chrome plated. The pipe near the exhaust lost coating due to heat, so I used high temp (+600 Celsius) paint of Bosny which just worked fine. I'm not sure the grade of powder coating, but I got it done from one of the industrial powder coating company.

Thanks for pointing that out for me mate. I will definitely keep that in mind. Need to hunt some places where this powder coating is done. Does places where these plating kind of jobs have powder coating facility too ?
