if it is more than 5 years the rubber comnponents of the injector and the air supply could be acting up.

I had to rebuild mine at 30,000 for reasons that is not clear yet. But there was carbon in the bore, the air supply gaskets were worn out [ out of service tolerance, the bike could run].

Bike is at 42000kms and 4 years almost and it was old fuel which made my bike feel as of there was loss of power but its fine now. I purchased a clutch set by mistake but I will probably need it down the line, need to purchase a clutch bell which is 2500rs and will reach its life end soon. I don't think a cbr needs to be opened up unless you are not changing oil on time or proper maintenance, as you've mentioned its good to check the fuel injectors, fuel pump, etc when I feel like the bike is Laggy, but the bike is running fine, my front brake master cylinder does need a change, I'm not getting that urgency in my brakes anymore. I think a well maintained cbr can go on til 80000kms without opening up the engine.

hey man, you are the one that believes the asc is the temple
30,000 km is nothing for these bikes.. no need to open any of the stuff that you said.
heck, even my poor quality 3.7 yr old ktm has clocked 33k km and haven't opened anything up apart from regular filters and oil changes. I've used fully synthetic oil right from day 1 and a couple of times mixed different brands of syn oil too.
ditto for my dio that 11 +yrs old and clocked more than 70k km.. just regular services and periodic replacement of consumables.. never had to open the engine (i.e. stock bore/head/valves/timing chain etc..)

regular service and oil changes (not blindly leaving it at a mechanic or asc and assuming they will do everything) will keep them going at least twice as much without major issues. from my experience it is either negligence in maintenance/riding or a bad service that makes things go for a toss.

Hello All, this is Bharath here from Hyderabad and am new to XBHP, though i have been a follower for a while now.

I have a new CBR 250 ABS purchased in April this year and 200 kms and a month later it went for its first service at JSP honda here. After the service i noticed many things. Pressing the rear brakes hard results in a shudder (not anymore after the service day), some squeaky sounds coming from the lower middle half not sure where (chain?)... and the rear disk has concentric circles and also straight tangential lines.

I am worried more about the rear disc having those straight lines in addition to the concentric circles. Also how do i get rid of the squeaks?

Could someone guide me on this?

          Regards
          Bharath

              Not yet,

I haven't had the time to go back. Also i am skeptical about the kind of response i would get from these guys. But maybe i should try it once...

              Thanks,

                  Thanks for your response.

Do you see some cause of concern from my descriptions?

Please upload a picture of your rear disc. Do check if the pads are tightened properly.

If you are driving in high gear and low rpm and at that time you hear the sound, then it is chain sound. Don't worry about that. Just learn to rev match and things will be sorted.

Those shiny tangential lines are quite visible when rotor is new. They are carved onto new disc for a reason. Concentric lines do appear over the time due to utilization of brakes. Just to clear your doubts, you can remove rear disc pads, clean them with a piece of rag, and reassemble. Regarding shudder feeling while engaging rear brake you may check whether rear axle is properly aligned and tightened at recommended torque or not. That squeak noise may be a resultant noise from an over-tightened chain. Check the slackness or drag your motorcycle backward to hear any noise coming from chain or front sprocket area.

Hi. I can't comment on the brake part but the squeaky sound could probably relate to the rear suspension. I had the squeaky sound too. Got them greased up and preload adjusted around 3k kms ago and now it is all fine. My bike has done just 15.6k kms on 14 months.

                          Hope this helps.

Please find the picture of the rear disc rotor included.

Also the squeaks were not heard before the servicing. It definitely is after the same.
