Thanks a lot theironhorse99 for your help, been googling around for spacers as I'm not aware of them. How many times have you replaced fork oil so far in 6 years?

Hey, I've sent you in PM theironhorse99Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postbeen using motul 20w for over 6 years now. stock used to be 5w maybe now its 10w for CBR.
the stock quantity as per service manual is 331ml per fork.
get a motul 20w bottle , well sealed and use one bottle each fork. accounting for some wastage you have close to 345 ml each fork.
the rebound will be better. if you want stiffer suspension get spacers made from old used splendor forks. been using custom spacers and motul 20w for a long long time now.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Guys, I've come across a Pre-owned CBR 250 R, 2018 model done around 18k on ODO, for 1.4 lac. I've the following concerns about this.
1. It had a major accident and the chassis was replaced with insurance claim. Can there be any permanent damage other than the chassis?
2. It is Non-ABS, so can I retrofit the ABS kit from Honda? Read somewhere like the costs can be exponential if we do this.
Pics of bike looks clean and owner confirmed all the issues the bike had were fixed. Need your comments.
Thank youDown to Gehenna or up to the Throne, He travels the fastest who travels alone...

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I feel the price is very high, you should try n get it below a lakh, a new non abs Variant costed me 1.76 a few years back . And no you cannot retrofit abs , it's a costly affair if your willing to spend 20+ k just on the abs setupOriginally posted by Crank49 View PostGuys, I've come across a Pre-owned CBR 250 R, 2018 model done around 18k on ODO, for 1.4 lac. Okay. There are some other non-abs bikes available, but I'm not sure about the breaking capacity for these models. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Non abs should be below a 1L -90k if over 15k km , abs over a lakh is justifiable if mileage ran is less.Originally posted by Crank49 View PostOkay. There are some other non-abs bikes available, but I'm not sure about the breaking capacity for these models. Also, I've seen ads like

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi Guys,
I did a preventive service of my 2012 CBR250 ABS which is close to 45k kms at a FNG last week and did the following work
Replacements
- Fork oil and OEM seals as one of the fork was leaking. Used Motul 20W fork oil and it made a noticeable difference to how the front end behaves now i.e. much stiffer
- Chain tensioner
- Spark plug
- Filters (Air, petrol)
- Chain slider
- Coolant – Motul as Honda’s oem was out of stock. Honda original felt far better as co
- Cone set
Post-service, the bike went for a thorough pressure wash without the fairings. The bike refused to start for almost an hour after the wash and finally it started after trying various methods.
Half way through my return journey, I suddenly noted the bike kept stalling at crawling speeds as the RPM at idle speed was highly erratic. I realized the bike just couldn’t idle for more than 2-3 seconds and the engine died every single time but there were no engine starting issues. I had to ride home keeping the RPM above 3k which wasn’t so difficult as most of the ride was on highway. I had to hold the accelerator above 2.5/3 k to keep it running at signals and slow speeds.
I initially thought its due to pressure wash as the bike was perfectly okay just before the wash. So I let the bike dry itself for two full days but the problem continued. I took the bike to the FNG who suspected water on throttle body so we got the throttle body thoroughly cleaned with a throttle body cleaning spray but the problem continued. Next in line was to check the spark plug which was replaced and unfortunately the spark plug cap broke off while checking and we are stuck as the OEM replacement spark plug cap is not available at most SVC nearby. The mechanic is trying to source the OEM spark plug cap.
I need your help in case the erratic idle RPM and stalling issue is not due to faulty spark plug cap/spark plug. What else can be checked?
On google and forum search, some potential options are to:
- Reset ECU (following the ownership manual method)
- Clean the tank and fuel pump. Fuel filter was just replaced
- Replace the full tank with fresh fuel
- Replace the Exide battery as its almost 3 years old
- Check and clean all electrical connections
Some other quick notes
- I’ve ridden the bike for over 30 kms since this issue on highways and it runs absolutely okay as long as the RPM is above 2/2.5 k.
- I have the earth wire mod running
- I can hear the fuel pump priming every time without issues
- The bike has slightly high oil consumption issue

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I have a premonition that your spark plug cap was the issue. There were issues of engine hesitating and arcing sounds from the engine in our forum, and they were traced back to faulty spark plug cap and wire, mostly cap. Replace your spark plug cap, make sure there are no nicks and cuts on the wire from the ignition coil, and make sure the spark plug cap is screwed in properly and tightly. If required, cut a very small end of the igntion coil wire where the cap is screwed in to make sure the cap bites on fresh copper inside to make good contact.Originally posted by mitz View PostHi Guys,

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Thanks buddy, that's a slight relief. Problem is we're struggling to find the elusive 250r spark plug cap across SVCs in Mumbai. I personally called half a dozen SVCs in western suburbs but no luck. While my mechanic is trying to arrange an old spark plug cap from his contacts, I'm trying to place order for a new cap at SVC which will take at least a week. Will post an update in a day or twoOriginally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostI have a premonition that your spark plug cap was the issue. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Called and visited almost all Honda SVCs in Mumbai and nearby regions. The plug cap is not available anywhere. Also tried a lot of local spare vendors but no luck. Finally ordered an aftermarket plug yesterday from https://safexbikes.com/productdetail...50cc/ZAPCHD153 and also placed orders for OEM plug cap at a Honda SVC. Let's see which comes first.Originally posted by mitz View PostI'm trying to place order for a new cap at SVC which will take at least a week. Will post an update in a day or two
I usually stock a lot of CBR250R parts such as cables, filters on a preventive basis, but never though I'd be badly stuck for want of a spark plug cap
https://safexbikes.com/products has quite some OEM products for CBR250R. I haven't tried it previously thoughOriginally posted by Deathwing View PostGuys any online site to source oem parts instead of the showroom?
