I had a test ride some days back and a long one. The bike is great in terms of isolating of vibes 0-100 performance and even braking comparing it to my P220 and Apache RTR. But i like the top end performance of the RTR more. Seating position is good and is more inclined than the RTR and P220.Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

There is a 3M Care Shop in HSR Layout, Bangalore. But AFAIK, they do only Cars. I had been there couple of weeks back and they said they don't have any plans of doing any treatment on bikes at the moment. In future, they might venture in this field as well. But when, is still a big question mark.Originally posted by thefastestindian View PostI got that done on my car but the guy who did that said he can't do it on a bike so got a different treatment done. I'll get the PFF from 3m when I ride to bangalore in july. Any idea how much would that cost? and any suggestions on where to get that done?
However you can buy the various products from their shop. PM me when you're here. Will take you there.
Congratulations Jasmeet.Originally posted by jasmeetsinghchawla View PostI got my bike today first bike in C.G. May be my pic will be in local news tomorrow due to being first person to officially get the bike. Had booked the Black coloured bike but due to it not being available for few more days not definite. I preferred going for the red one which was available.
So from tomorrow onwards, you're going to be a celebrity in your town.

I got the bike serviced on Sunday. Its done ~1100 kms. The oil filter was changed, valve clearances inspected, and oil changed.
One thing to note: Honda has two kinds of oils that they recommend and that are present in Service Centers. One is the fully-synthetic 20w40 which costs around 750 for 1.5L and the other is the mineral oil which 10w30 which is 330 for the same quantity. In case you don't choose, the ASS will replace oil with the one currently available with them. I had a word with the Honda north-zone representative from Manesar and he confirmed the same. Honda recommends both.
I opted for the mineral oil since it was just the first service and I do-not want to switch to fully synthetic right away. I will get it replaced with another dose of mineral after 3k and switch to fully synthetic after the 2nd service.
Also, whenever you get your CBR serviced insist that they inspect the valve clearance/adjust timing with the sims if needed. It is a tedious process, removing the fairing, tank etc because of all the hosing involved. But it's necessary and a part of the first service, which unless you are not aware off, the guys at the ASS might skip.
Sajaawat baadme bhi ho jaegi, pehle make sure that the ASS services your vehicle the right way

I stay 500 meters from that shop in HSR and 3M is totally into cars. Any idea about the shops in Bangalore, where they do good protection modes (wax/polish/protection film) for bikes??Originally posted by sudeepnbr View PostThere is a 3M Care Shop in HSR Layout, Bangalore. They stock all orginial Mecguairs wax, polish, shampoo, etc. All cost a bomb. We just bought ourselves some MicroFibre cloth, costing 99 a piece. We had mentioned to them about XBHP and also the possibility of a big business if bikes will be treated here.Originally posted by sudeepnbr View PostThere is a 3M Care Shop in HSR Layout, Bangalore. If not bikes, atleast tanks alone, since they take a lot of beating due to tank bags. They said they would talk to the their HO and let us know.
Will be going there next weekend to get some plastic shine if available...
When you got your bike, you had semi-synthetic oil right? As a matter, all CBR's come with semi-synthetic oil right? So after first service now going into mineral oil is a good move?Originally posted by kurtrules View PostI got the bike serviced on Sunday. Its done ~1100 kms. Could you post a detailed list of things to be done for first service? I also have some fairing issues.
And did you check your top end after the first service? Is the bike ready for ripping or we have to wait another 6000kms till second service before opening her up? What all changes did they do to engine/other parts?
Sorry for being such a noob in this regard.Last edited by ajaymanohar; 06-01-2011, 10:29 AM.

I will be replacing mineral oil after short intervals, so I have no reservations.
Major Details:
1) Oil Changed
2) Oil Filter changed
3) Valve clearances inspected
4) Tappets adjusted if needed
5) Coolant level inspected, topped up if required.
Rest is the normal stuff done during service. What fairing issues do you have?" I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not" - Kurt Cobain

@Kurtrules - Hope you're aware that C250R's service interval is every 6K kms.another dose of mineral after 3kSkill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

I am fully aware of that. But that is under normal riding conditions. And I am just going to have an oil change. I am most certainly not going to keep the oil and change it after every 6k, with what I have in mind, for the bike." I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not" - Kurt Cobain

Now you will understand why I am such a noob. This is a question in general to all. We all know that the bike should not be ripped in the first 1000kms or so. However after the first service, one can slowly begin ripping the bike. Not immediately after 1001 kmsOriginally posted by kurtrules View PostI will be replacing mineral oil after short intervals, so I have no reservations.

.
I have seen that my bike does not hit the top whack and I dont push it either. But after first service, we can do the same. So what change/mods/settings do the service people do for such a change in engine character? Will they change the valve timings, or what do they do? And how will I make sure that they do the same?
Thanks for the above list.
My fairing is not properly fastened to the bolts/nuts/locks/joint at
a. The front headlight area
b. The right side fairing
c. The lower front right cowl.
Also by mistake, without realising, I had asked a local mechanic to put chain oil on my CBR, thinking it was running dry. BIG mistake. Hope they dont void the warranty for the same, really worried about this.
