Riding is not about "How fast you can go",
it is all about "How you can go fast"

That is not a stock bike doing 171 kmph. There are some mods on it and he says it's an FI box. If i can quote him
Topspeed in racing position about 160-165km/h,and sitting position about +- 150 km/h

      • cbr250 top speed

Hey all, I saw a lot talk here regarding cbr250's top speed & I have noticed that most of the bike's here are due for first oil & oil filter change! I think before checking any bike's top speed it should run for min 3-4K kms(including couple of oil changes) which will completely free the engine. Then only we will know the true top whack of this beast.

Some classes above our other so called indian sbks. Now, the bike may not go beyond 150kms as of now.. But it gets there very very quick.. I touched 140 @ arnd 8krpm and it reached there very quick.. There was a lot of punch still left but i pulled of as my bike had just arnd 500kms on odo (plus i wasnt wearing a jacket). And i did this thrice in my 180kms non-stop journey. The bike cruised @120 all the time without any vibrations and felt very very safe and easy.. Then went to shirdi day before yesterday.. A 90kms journey from here (180 to n fro) with a 75kg pillion and the bike easily cruised @ 120 on a single lane road.(i avoided to go faster as there is a lot of wind force on the pillion).
Now this satisfies me for what i paid. May not be true for some.
i understand you are all excited about your new bike but unless you have real proof i would request to abstain from quoting figures which you think are justified. and doing 120 on indian roads on any bike isnt safe.. bike generically are not safe if you meant stable then a P220 is as stable as CBR only difference being the seating position. and regarding vibes excluding the vibrating RVMs you dont exactly feel bikes in P220 either. if you are trying to do a comparo all your facts are wrong. the only thing you got right was the handling part.
          Regardless, Life shall go on.

          • So after riding around quite a bit on the CBR what do you guys think of the engine vibration at higher speeds? Definitely present or overemphasized?

err...you mean the N250R's riders are safe below 120 Kmph? IMO, speed is a subjective term to debate.

Are you saying the counter balancer, frame, shims, DOHC, FI don't mean anything?

Hey! Sorry if my words were offensive brother..
i neither was doing a comparo nor am i praising my purchase.. I know what the p220 is and have had quiet a time with it.. And even the r15.. But my words were purely what i felt after a ride and i am not getting any of those figures registered to provide a proof for it.. Why do you need a proof.. Just go ride it yourself and check if true.. My thoughts reached the people who wanted it.
And if you talk about safety, i would suggest you to take a cbr ride on a well built NH and just feel how safe it feels at such speeds..(you dont believe me ) i never felt the speed until i looked at the speedo..
I have never been a rider who crosses the limits..(pardon the misleading maniac word in my id) and i never did that even on the cbr rides i talked about.
I aint proving anything here.. Just sharing my experience..

                  Yes sir you are right!
I feel very good at 120 even on my Pulsar 220. No vibs at all.
But planning to sell it and get CBR.

well,i'd like to vary a bit....having driven my bro's P220 DTSi for nearly one year and then having my own CBR250, i can definitely claim the CBR does it better than the 220 at higher speeds (atleast, FOR ME)..u keep on climbing the speedo and maybe u'd have touched the 130+ mark but u will never actually feel it unless u check the speedo! also, its the P220's discs that gave me and my friends a very wrong impression abt disc brakes back then...the disc of p220 is deadly and disc locks are very frequent...and thus i was afraid like hell to ride a fireblade, but once i did, i came to know "ooh its just the pulsars"...elz,discs are much much more safer and comfortable..

no offence to any p220 rider nor i am trying to claim that "CBR rules, all elz are fools".....its just my 2 cents

(btw,i dont quite like the front shocks and the horns of CBR..yuk yuk)

We do not know its a stock bike or mod one. Second, Indian CBRs are 1 bhp low from their foreign versions.

Your bike is way better than babes, only thing is that you need a proper vision to mull over this fact. :D

P220 has no vibes at 120? C'mon dude, I've been using P220 since 2010 and have done many lond rides, It is good to cruise at a max of 110 and not more than that. Even at 110, you can feel the rythmic vibes coming from the engine. I agree it's a great machine but the level of comfort which CBR gave me when I did 120 was just great compared to 220. That is why I sold my 220 and got a CBR. PEACE!! No offense bro. This is my personal feeling.

22bhp with the same 150cc mill? supercharged ? I think it is just a cosmetic change like they do on the FZ series. R15 is already a great fun to ride bike!

                              • Guys, I don't think we have to discuss more about speed and stability. CBR 250R is more stable and faster than a P220 period. One different is the price. The buyers should decide whether it is worth paying the extra and that is subjective.
