Guys, check out my review on page 32, post #382; during my test drive (Solo ofcourse) I found knocking at 1500 RPM & probably 2nd or 3rd gear, yet the torque was still available to roll on.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Can we purchase this oil separately also from the service center??Originally posted by chetanpulsar View PostWas going to get the oil changed from the dealer Dream Honda, Whitefield (the dealer I got the bike from), but then the service guy said its 20W40 semi-synthetic Honda oil especially imported for the CBR which costs Rs.550/litre. Hence I checked the quality of oil in the engine now, seems to be still new after 200km, so will get the oil changed at 1k kms during the servicing.

congrats chetan!!Originally posted by chetanpulsar View Postthe service guy said its 20W40 semi-synthetic Honda oil especially imported for the CBR which costs Rs.550/litre.
the workshop incharge who serviced my bike said its 10w30. Comes in the honda packing. (showed me the pack) and said it would cost around rs.500 for the entire oil change (1.5l) though he dint change the oil due to non-availibility of oil filter.. And will do it once i am back to mumbai..
Also if the bike is knocking too much.. Get the clutch setting checked.. He did it for me and i noticed an improvement.. Also i was adviced to run it on a gear lower than usual during run-in..You gotta risk it.. to get da biscuit !!!

Do you want me to post some more picsOriginally posted by mav1234 View PostChetan Bhai, your Red one looks very nice..
You are tempting me to go for this.

The Manual says 20W40 oil grade. Clutch setting will not make a difference I think, because its all psychologicalOriginally posted by MeTaL_MaNiaC View Postcongrats chetan!!

well i got myself a Keiti tank pad and installed it on my black CBR....n i was doubtful, but YES,it looks goooood!!!!!

(anyone wants a picture??if yes, i'll take some trouble for a photoshoot tomorrow
)
Today was my first day with a RAIN(moderate) + CBR combo offer!!
all i can say is BEWARE!! CBR (std) brakes are deadly!! the front tire tends to skid a lot...i was saved today cus of the rear tire which, did its job very well and helped me regain balance on the run! woooof!!
PS: btw i was riding at 65-75 range

ALERT! :
Careful with the stock rubber on CBR during rains. These aren't so good in rains. I was saved last night as I had ABS on my CBR. Rear looses traction at speeds above 60 kmph in turns. I might upgrade my rubber to pirelli or sirac if sizes are available.M800 - 2001 - 5787.Nano 2011 - 5086.Figo 2011 - 518.P220 - 2010 - 5995.CBR 250R - 2011 - 250.sigpic

But got this details on the tires.. You might wanna check.
Ninjette tires reviewed in Bike - ninjette.org
For the rear. 140/70 , I think only Pirelli SD is available. Which might also soon vanish with the ISI GoI rule coming in.RIP Marco

yes. The manual suggests 20w40 for our climate but the person who told me abt 10w30 was the head of the ASC. And he had received training on the CBR.. And it was him who noticed a faulty clutch setting as soon as he rode my bike (without my complains) and fixed it... I dont know what all is actually true, but i completely trust him as he helped me with all my problems and answered my every query with a logical reason for it being so..Originally posted by chetanpulsar View PostDo you want me to post some more pics

Another rain victim in less than 5 hrs!!

but in my case, it was the rear tyres that totally saved me (no abs for me) .while the front tyre skid to almost 45 degrees, my rear tyres didnt move an inch which helped maintain my stability...elz?? BOOOOM!!!

@ all who are complaining about skidding problem with stock tyres.
Wait, dont get to the conclusion about it.
1st let the oils & other things on the roads get properly washed away by the rain coz every vehicle ( even cars & heavy vehicles ) tends to skid in the starting period of monsoon .
Haila, what im doing in ownership thread. There's still a wait of couple of month for my bike.Last edited by ttusharz; 05-27-2011, 01:37 AM.
