  • couple of questions guys if u can help:
    1) what exactly is the cone set and how does it affect riding etc.?
    2) anyone planning to install two brother racing exhaust or crash bobbins to keep your cbr fairing intact.
3)is it possible to install saferideabs mechanical abs to cbr as it is compatible with nissin brakes but dunno abt bybre .

i love the nissin brakes on abs models, too good yaar...hate my dealer for convincing me to buy non abs model.

    3) will painting the few bits that have oxidized or starting to rust help with preventing rust?

      AND
Did you take any make/brand of engine oil with you or asked the ASC to replace the engine oil what they supply?

Warranty voids if you ask them to use an engine oil of your own - FOR SURE.

When I was at ASC this afternoon, they were saying that a bloke brought Motul 300V 15W-50 double esther & was adamant on changing to it. ASC, failed to persuade & got signed from the customer about the change in oil.

Which means there's no record at ASC that you've changed it; Good.
Hope you changed the oil filter in addition that would really make it better.

          • ^na..did not want any risks changing the oil filter or getting any more nuts/bolts opened by my mech.(with whom i've been trusting my machines since couple of years).

Initially the mechanic was also telling to let the svc guys change the oil @ 1st service, then after explaining they would be putting in FS oil & next drain would be after ~5000km, we agreed to change to a semi synth and run it for abound 500km before the 1st service.

No brother i am searching for it too, but mine is left RVM.
I found a Right RVM for the bike in ebay. can't find the link again. pls google it and try.
I am planning to go for ZMR's RVM. Don't think any spares will come near time.
Actually my modifications/parts replaced are like this,

              Front footpegs - RTR180's
              Clutch lever - Unicorn's
Front left indicator - Dazzler's (which is same as CBR's too)
Windscreen - TYGA performance tinted OEM.
Left RVM - Not replaced yet, will go for ZMR's if i didn't get this month.
Left clip-on - though it need not be replaced, a very small bent. I have ordered that part too.
Left fairing scratches - Touched paint on those areas.

Looks like a combination of all bikes. Initial i was really sad to see my bike like this, but now i am getting used to it.
If the mirror arrives here i will inform you. Meanwhile keep a search in Bglr and inform me if the left RVM is available.

Happened to me too! A small accident. No damage to the bike at all. The mirror fitment is of the flimsiest quality ever! Both my mirrors broke (above the base plates - with the base plates intact...)
Gonna try to fix it myself.. getting a fixture made for both the mirrors. At least they'll be of better quality.
I inquired at my local ASC.. They cost 415 a piece (830 for the L-R pair). But it makes no sense getting the same quality ones.
Found aftermarket ones on ebay.com which come to around the same price with shipping. that'd be a better option if the DIY thing doesn't work.

I am expecting my bike to be delivered this week (fingers crossed). Just wanted to check if any one of you have tried the Motoman method to break in the bike. If yes, please share your experience.

This is my first post in this thread and if this has already been discussed, kindly share the link with me.

                    Thanks.
Yes, I did try that method. Run the bike at controlled speeds and keep it below 5.5k rpm for the first 30 minutes.. Then rip her with sudden bursts of speed (touching the redline and back) and sudden breaking (make sure it's safe for u to do so..) for the next 30 min. Again take it easy for the next 20-30 min..
Try to change your engine oil + oil filter as soon as u can after this.

P.S.: I have done ~ 400km now and the bike has absolutely no problems.

it's actually about 20- 35 degrees in Leh right now

and varying from 18 - 30 degrees in bangalore.

so basically, it's hotter in Leh than Bangalore. just thought you should know
10w30 oil is fine for bangalore weather, especially during the rainy season. you forget that bangalore is almost 3000 feet above sea level

                          Guess it was rusting

Update - I'd checked on a free road decelrating from 75Kmph with both hands out of handle bar & the bike behaves absolutely fine. No shakes, didn't have to adjust body for balance or anything.

Except the bad vibrations starting from 4.5K RPM & 6th gear, I guess most my issues are sorted out.
