There were around 30-40 CBRs participated in this camp. Honda has done free check up and rectifying some minor issues on the spot and for major issues they will contact the dealer and process through that way. I harve told them about rusting issues and oil leak issues. They told CBR is using liquid gasket and not the paper gasket. So we need to put liquid gasket while changing the oil filter. Due to lack of spares dealers are not doing this. They told me they will contact my dealer and fix the issues. Also there was racing of all the class bikes from 110 cc to 600 cc on the race track. Twister, stunner,Victor, RTR, R15, CBR 150R, CBR 250R, CBR 600RR, R6 etc. It was really fun to ride lot of CBRs together. We all enjoyed it very much.

That is my bike. That tank pad costs to me 1000/-. It is a transparent one. I don't remember the brand name. Got it from Auto Queen(Cochin - Kerala).

*P.S: I wasnt there at ASC, left it there and went to class.

Gonna try to fix it myself.. getting a fixture made for both the mirrors. At least they'll be of better quality.
I inquired at my local ASC.. They cost 415 a piece (830 for the L-R pair). But it makes no sense getting the same quality ones.
Found aftermarket ones on ebay.com which come to around the same price with shipping. that'd be a better option if the DIY thing doesn't work.

Yes, I did try that method. Run the bike at controlled speeds and keep it below 5.5k rpm for the first 30 minutes.. Then rip her with sudden bursts of speed (touching the redline and back) and sudden breaking (make sure it's safe for u to do so..) for the next 30 min. Again take it easy for the next 20-30 min..
Try to change your engine oil + oil filter as soon as u can after this.

P.S.: I have done ~ 400km now and the bike has absolutely no problems.

Now, you may want to try JSP Anna Nagar & then provide a comparo. I've been a regular at JSP & I quite find their service good. Except for the engine change, I never leave my vehicle at the ASC.

                          • Posting after a very long time. I finished riding only 750 kms in one month, before my first service. Then close to 850 kms in three days, courtesy Wayanad Inter-State G2G.
So a few problems I need to check up with the free Honda check up being done in Bangalore.

                            a. Fairing... Gaps, both in front and rear
                            b. Tank painting not upto the mark, able to see tapered marks. This actually calls for a tank replacement.
                            c. Fairing vibes, foot peg vibes.
                            d. Foot pegs damage
                            e. Visor rattling (vibes is an understatement.)
                            f. Moisture inside the indicator and rear lights, possibility of short circuit
                            g. Unavailability of accessories that Honda international has, like rear seat cowl, paddock stand
                            h. Poor quality lube when delivered.
                            i. I also need to check up my rims and front/rear shocks, maybe make it a bit more harder, one more level.
                            j. Do you guys know about the visor's badthing, it does not break up into pieces, as in it is not made to be brittle, can be dangerous in an event of a fall.
h, Biggest Problem for me: BATTERY going to DIE soon. Try this, if you are running your bike, switch on your lights, honk, keep honking and when you press brakes, the horn becomes weaker as part of electricity goes to brake lights. This is normal as its a full DC, but mine is extra ordinarily weak.

Any other problems that you guys think one should bring to the attention of HMSI-diots who will be doing the checkup?

                            • I am not sure, Even I they said me the name, I would seriously would have had any clue! Just test drove for 2 kms with a happy face and then I left! From the billing it seems like they have used the costly semi synthetic one! I dunno about they allowing they asked for 4 hours time! (I think they needed that, My bike was ample shitty! They hand cleaned and polished it) So I left to tax class!

Point was whatever problem I said. He didnt give me a shitty look! But rather he fixed them! The suspension is now in soft setting just to tackle my choolaimedu roads! Yes I only use my CBR for daily commute >.>

When should I next change my engine oil ? I will go there and check for that

Welcome to the club There will be vibes after 7K RPM, which is quite normal, but anything less than 6K is to be fixed.

Man!!! They lubed something that looked like grease to me. I asked if they used a spray & they confirmed it. I even asked them to show the spray & it was indeed a spray & was clearly written to be used with O & some Z type chains. Over & above it was supplied by HMSI

I promptly went & bought Motul chain lubricant & happy with it

Lol Either you keep honking or leave the lights ON extensively. I run with parking lights ON all the time & don't leave the headlights ON. Also check if your fan is running when your engine is not running. That could be the biggest culprit.

                                - Ensure that the engine oil filter is fitted as how it has to be fixed. You need to read OUT when its being fixed
                                - Change engine oil during operating temperature & not when the engine is cool/cold
                                - May be you want to get your alloy wheels balanced since you might've run offroaded a bit
                                - Tighten the engine bed bolts to the torque
                                - Ask them to give you a valve clearance report (this takes entire day). This will also help you understand in course of time as how the SHIMs get shaved off.
