Rival?! No! Each bike is different and these are two different bikes entirely! I personally love the looks of the cbr250r though! I want that rear wheel hugger! lol! Yes Ram, was great riding with you, hopefully we'll do a long one soon!

Regarding the issues of the cbr250r, i think things are being blown out of proportion and the majority of the bikes have no/almost zero issues (Ram's bike as an example). I do understand the minority having few problems is highly unacceptable (honda standards) but we need to be careful not to spread the negativity and thereby confusing potential buyers by leading them to believe there's a problem with most bikes. I do sympathise with Aargee and i sincerely hope the standard of training given to the mechanics does improve but we have to remember this is THE biggest high powered motorcycle launch in the history of India (in terms of volume, cubic capacity and Honda's global market) albeit hastily launched, it's bound to take some time for little niggles to be sorted out! I just hope Honda customer care take each and every concern of the owner very seriously!

Is there any official forum or website whereby we can place complaints? How's the reply from the customer care like?

    p.s. I did 175kmph+ Ram!

I quite see my engine is smooth, punchier & torqy, except for the above 2 issues.

Damn!!! I'm even losing my sleep over these issues
If you're facing any more problems or if the existing problem isnt being attended to then i'd advise you to take this much higher and is possible, go for a refund or a new baby blade! It's not worth losing sleep over (i know it's easier said than done but it just makes things much worse ) because as long as you have even the slightest of the doubt, you'll doubt everything and the restlessness will grow!! (same happened to me hence my sympathies)

      • Whew!!! Everyone says higher ups. But who has the contact? I don't need a cellphone number, may be an email? Otherwise, I've to depend on inland or post card to send it to the plant addressing to the GM.

Abhinav - I know its not worth losing the sleep, but the fact is, I've already Frantically searching over the web for any clues!!!

Let me say what's the practical issue. These ASC guys have absolutely no clue on the machines. When I hand it over to them, there're other people who want to...ok, forget this point for now. Even the C250R trained guys have less knowledge & they're learning on my bike. Most of the issues are post mortems than fixing proactively!!! So when they fix vibes this time, I'm really teriffied what would appear next. Goes on like an infinite loop.

        • In the case of my ninja, we were given a phone number of the regional head (AFAIK) to escalate the issue! Very recently we've had unprofessional service in hyd PBK. I complained informally to our manager and nothing was done but one informal conversation with the regional head (for south Indian I believe but not exactly sure) and we had results in hours! (quite literally on the same day)

In addition I've heard from other ninja owners that they take any concern quite seriously so I assumed Honda have set up a similar procedure (I guess I'm wrong??). But speaking to the guys from the same dealer won't help, is the hierarchy of Honda service professionals that difficult to find? Numbers or emails of higher officials??

P.s. Have you tried any reputed mechanic/engineer whos had experience with sbks and other cbu route bikes? I've decided to take my ninja to a mechanic who has an amazing rep for sbks in hyd for the 3rd servicing.

              Hi Aargee,

Sorry to hear about your engine problems. It can happen to any bike/manufacturer. I had a Honda Unicorn (2005) for about 2.5 years. If i had to get things done properly with any Honda ASC, i contacted HMSI customer support thru their website. Otherwise i got a lot of attitude from them...

              My own experience with Ninja 250R is;
It's as reliable as any Jap bike.
              It's built tough and robust.
All it needs is regular maintenance.

              • spare parts availability issue...

my dealer's say on this was, that HONDA is shifting their spare parts warehouse to some new place and because of this there is this issue not only with CBR's but also with all other bikes and scooters. moreover he said this problem is there since last 4 months...

Hope it will sorted out soon by HONDA..

near handle, i am riding below 5000rpm and have covered 345 kms till now, when i leave handle at around 70 kmph i feel the handle vibrates but negligibly, is it normal in other cbr's.

                  • Boy oh Boy, look at that rust, it will fall apart in a couple of years. Looks like I will finally cancel the CBR booking, this bike just doesn't look worth the price, this has to be the bike with the worst build quality in India.

Honda you have lost one customer for sure.

                    • [QUOTE=Above_All;662379]What stupid thing is that Bro in every showroom of any vehicle they will let you check vehicle , some take test ride then after satisfaction you can proceed. And the RTO thing is owner dependent , like if you buying it from pune & want to make passing from other city then ? Don't trust them they are making fool i think. First check bike & then make payment. OR Go to any other showroom & get bike from them , service is all india so dont worry , even if you bought it from other city

yes i was going to delay the payment but they said if m not paying 2day they will allot it to the next person!!! grr! and the waiting period being so long i could'n wait anymore!!! we also indirectly talked to the manager (the lady who was incharge said she confirmed it with him that they cant allow !)... after some heated up coversation they said they will take care that the bike is in its best condition!!

                      fingers crossed!

P.S - I would'n really care about everything if some people here would'n be facing any problems !...Honda should really live up to their standards!

+1, I am one among the happy owners. To be frank I was not very much excited the first day I took her home, that was because of the irresistable 5 months waiting period. From then everyday she is impressing me. I have done 2400+kms now, not a single issue, even under pouring rain. The only part i hate about it is like a kid playing with mud gets dirty very soon. Following the forum I understood one thing 'I am lucky'!

Rags, decision is yours, but, if you buy with an intention to match other 250cc's in the market, then, its going to disappoint for sure.

Even if you consider all the issues posted here & feel its not worth, then, you may still need to reconsider. Its the poor ASC & unresponsive, unattentive HMSI that sucks a big time. Product wise, its certainly good. I personally feel its a best city commuter for more experienced riders. You simply don't need to scream the vehicle & just ride relaxed & yet be in the front of most people; no cutting gears when overtaking.

Mine is one of an incident, so you can ignore mine. Otherwise, if you're able to get hold of some good ASC/C250R mechanic & keep your requirements more of realistic, then this will be a perfect all rounder.

+1 to you. Its just common after rain or a wash. Its not an issue.

Its not rust; it can be wiped off easily. Its common after rains or bike wash if you keep under sun.
