what is the RPM to speed ratio on top gear for CBR 250 ?
For ZMA it is 15 Kmph for every 1,000 RPM, with limiter at approx. 8,300 RPM
I did a small math when riding last time and the calculations came as below.
It is 16kmph for every 1000rpm (@6th gear)
Hence @10500 rpm(redline) it can do 168Kmph according to speedo.
And @12500 rpm it can do exactly 200kmph according to speedo(In vacuum).

Thanks for taking the time and effort to give the info...What I meant was , not the speedo, but as per tech info..For ZMA the manufacturer had given the info of 15.09 Kmph for 1,000 RPM..But the ZMA speedo at 8,000 RPM will be around 135 to 140...which is not true speed...

I believe it should be in the same range. I can't confirm it because, in 6th gear here's the speed vs RPM...
              4000 - 60
              4500 - 70
              5000 - 78
              5500 - 84
              6000 - 96
              6500 - 103 (or 102 not sure)
              7000 - 108
              8000 - 117
              8500 - 127
              I'll test for 4500 & 5500 RPM tomorrow & post the details.

Hmm...quite an abstract question; but help us understand these...
              1. What's your gross weight
              2. What will be type of roads in which you'll ride?
              3. How many potholes will you hit?
              4. What will be the gross weight of the heavy load?
              5. How long will the heavy load be present when you ride on each of the road types?
              6. What will be the rear tire pressure when you have the heavy load?
              7. What will be the weather condition when you ride on day to day normal rides & when there're heavy loads?

city roads and highways with n number of potholes and speed breakers.
                  no off-roading for sure..

                  3. How many potholes will you hit?
well i dont have exact count but i try to avoid it unless i am unable to move an inch to right/left.. moreover the number of potholes in the same road which i travel is not fixed it varies daily due to this monsoon.

                  4. What will be the gross weight of the heavy load?
there wont be any heavy load but a pillion at times

                  5. How long will the heavy load be present when you ride on each of the road types?
i seriously dont have an answer for this..

                  6. What will be the rear tire pressure when you have the heavy load?
                  recommended tyre pressure always..

                  7. What will be the weather condition when you ride on day to day normal rides & when there're heavy loads?
                  current weather condition is rainy..

yea i know this wanted to know if there will be any for suspension or anything else related to it..

P.S. hope you will not be asking any more questions..

                  • Kishore, well those questions have no significant meaning other than to convey - you just go about experimenting. No one other than you can suggest what is best. Like I said before, adjusting the rear suspension is not going to damage your engine for sure. Rest assured!!!

by the way can we adjust it by ourselves with the standard tool kit provided or should we have to take it to SVC..

You can adjust it by yourself, you can find an adjusting tool and a lever in your tool kit. Just fit the tool in the lever and adjust the suspension in the appropriate direction.
I will check and post whether clockwise twisting is hardening or softening.

Absolutely you can do it by yourself. READ, REREAD, the owner's manual & there's instructions as how to do it. Which type of setting gives softest & which one gives hardest.

Take some time, go through the manual, after all, its your bike & none other than you should be more than concerned on your bike isn't it?

                              • Some new observations on my bike

I have clocked 830 Kms on the ODO in about 12 days, the engine is smooth, gear shift no probs.

The point of concern is the click click noise from somewhere near the steering joint, i noticed it yesterday, at first i thot it was the keyring
but no it's not. Now all the time I keep hearing just that sound, its
                                irritating. ( Anyone else observed)

Also I think thr is some issue with the key & set key cylinder(where the key goes in) its really stuck at times, I took it to the SVC he lubed it but yesterday whn I washed my bike the problem recurred.

Lastly the fuel tank cap is illfitting, I think thr is too much gap btwn the tank brim and cap.

I m going for the first service this saturday, I hope the probs get rectified.

Will keep ya guys informed !
