Well, mrf tyres do get punctured. Any tire will, for that matter. I dint like the tread pattern on the mrf, plus the grooves were deeper on the contigo. As to reliability, my personal experience is quite positive - Contigo lasted 23000 kms, and would have lasted atleast 2000 kms more if I didn't have a mega puncture that kept opening up. I rode at least 2500 kms with the tire at 10-15 psi. Thus I had no reason to go for a radial at this point, coz I heard bias ply can withstand more abuse.

I would recommend Universal Honda followed by Punjab Honda for service.
See if the battery can be charged, if it's an older battery (3 years or so), get it replaced with the Amaron 7ah.
Also suggest you read this entire thread and the CBR (my story so far) thread to know your bike better and get a proper perspective of what you need done.
I have been following this thread for quite sometime... this is almost a Bible for CBR owners !
I got the battery replaced with 7Ah one from Gulf ( yes, the oil company ) with 48 months warranty, much like the Amaron... And the CBR starts normally now. Checked the voltage too and it gave out 14.xx while the engine is running.
However, it seems as though the ignition cable is loose, as the bike switches off completely at certain positions of the handlebar - thus making it near impossible to ride!
So I had to take my car for work yet again! Gotta get this fixed over the weekend now
It has now been almost a month since I was on two wheels... Phew!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Really soo ur telling Me stock conti go are good? Can other owners using conti go tyres share their experience?Originally posted by leech View PostI went for contigo coz it made no sense for me to buy a sticky track tire when all I use it for is to buy milk, and the occasional top speed run. The new tyre is good, offering easy corner carving and aggressive lane splitting. Grip is a relative word, I've found.

My experience with contigo is positive. I cannot speak for others, but I have heard more negative than positive reviews for Contigo. It's up to you what tyres you wish to install, I offer no recommendation.[emoji6]Originally posted by Deathwing View PostReally soo ur telling Me stock conti go are good? Re: Honda CBR 250R
As per my view Contigo are not very bad like, it should be changed the moment you get you bike with it. But, a bike like CBR 250 R cannot be used to its full potential with Contigo's. I am not much into touring, so I have used the first set of contigo till its lasts(19,380 Kms) it includes mostly on the highways and triple digit speeds.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostReally soo ur telling Me stock conti go are good? The places where the contigo left me wanting more is breaking from higher speeds (mainly when I want to stop quick) and on uneven roads the bike will be wobbling as the tyre lost pressure continuously.
These are answered well by MRF which am currently using, Hence I have not gone back to Contigo.
So one can always choose what suits them the best, and not based on what the product is offering

Re: Honda CBR 250R
This might mirror what one xBhpian faced a couple of pages back, he replaced the piston seals and it worked out fine for him. But since you've replaced your brake pads, and hoping this issue wasn't present earlier, it'd be a good idea to bleed the system once again and glaze the pad (using sand paper) a teeny bit and then see how it fares. Lack of feedback on when brakes are bled and after replacing pads are quite normal, but brakes grabbing aren't. So do get it checked.Originally posted by Zaid77 View PostHey guys.
I've recently changed my brakepads of 2013 ABS about 1k kms back and the brakes aren't that good in feel compare to the previous brakepads.
These pads lack bites ( front and rear ) on both. I did check the pads wearing and theyre pretty new and heavy looking still, now 2-3 days back it started having some lag on my front brake lever. Its like the lever got some levels of braking, when i pull the lever slowly like we normally use in the traffic.. the lever gets stuck just within an inch of pull and thn i have to pull it with a little more pressure to make the brake work.
It feels like the lever had ran out of oil and having some friction inside though the brake oil in up to the level and looks good in color.
I hope you guys understood the problem as im guessing i made it very confusing as i couldnt explain properly 😶
Thanks in advance

Which mrf are you currently using? Can you give us a few pics? Re: Honda CBR 250R
My initial experiences with contigo has been very poor one. Dont know if something was wrong with mine.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostReally soo ur telling Me stock conti go are good? Can other owners using conti go tyres share their experience?
My rear contigo gave up at around 14k on odo with at least 20 punctures or even more than that. Dry Grip was not at all satisfactory although wet grip was decent.
I have changed it with mrf zapper s in stock size.
Dry grip is certainly much better than contigo but whenever i encounter slush or muddy patch i miss that much hated contigo badly.
So all in all i can say mrf is good choice if you need decent dry grip. Forget anything about offroading experience on mrf
Here's my post on it

get it changed man!!! even if the bike is not showing any signs of replacing this fluids. brake fluid should be replaced once in 2 years and if you have not moved to DOT4 then this might be the correct time to replace it. As far as the coolant replacement depends upon the number of kilometers clocked the mark should be around 25K kms. Even though the bike is not complaining about the coolant as a part of preventive maintenance replace it my friend. peace of mind.
"As coolant circulates through your vehicle’s cooling system, it also performs some other very important functions. For example, it impedes corrosion and provides lubrication for the water pump seal. As it ages, coolant picks up corrosion and different deposits created in the engine and, as a result, it can become acidic. That acidic fluid along with the dissimilar metals used in the cooling system can actually create a sort of crude battery. The resulting electrical charge in that acidic fluid can then accelerate corrosion of the different component parts of the system and also adversely affect the electronic engine controls. When you change the coolant according to your manufacturer’s recommended schedule it prevents this acidic condition and thus helps prevent corrosion and expensive repairs "

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Between 3500-4000rpm. I can hear faint buzzing noise from the instrument console. (If i put my finger on the tacho, buzzing stops). Is there any way to fix this? There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.
