  • Re: Honda CBR 250R

I've covered 2500 kms, taking it out almost every alternate day. I just forgot to check the engine oil since I changed it around 6 months ago.

For peace of mind, idle your bike after keeping it on a paddock/makeshift center stand for about a minute. Leave the bike as is for 10 min and then check if oil is getting burnt.
Then get engine oil + oil filter changed. How old are your spark plug and air filter?
      Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Absence of paddock stand affects only on how you handle the bike and no other.

The tyre shape wont change unless you leave the bike unattended for many months with very low air in the tyre.

Odo is at 23.6k kms. Spark plug change is at 48k according to manual. Air filter got changed at 18k kms according to manual. This engine oil reduction happened over a period of six months. I topped it up recently, and now checking. Thanks for the replies.

Is anybody have this type of center stand to their CBR.
I will love to have such stand...
I searched lots of forums for aftermarket or juggad type center stand for CBR, but found nothing useful except some portable alternative to paddock to help in chain cleaning/tyre puncture during long travel.
My intention of having centerstand is for parking in public places, uneven surfaces.

Happy pongal to tamizh xbhp members!

I need some gyaan here, about the temperature sensor on the cbr250. Is it monitoring the engine oil temp or the coolant temp?

Pongal wishes to you too buddy. The temperature sensor is used to measure the temperature of the coolant and not oil temperature.

Guys I'm planning to change my OEM air filter to a stock BMC one, is it advisable or not? The reason I'm avoiding performance air filters as I'm not using the bike for track use,and i have heard perfomance sir filters let in more dust into your engine, any suggestions ?

If in anyway you think you're doing good to your bike, and you're primarily a commuter, and highway hitter, stick with the stock air filter for good, it's good, it does its job and it helps your engine in the long run. Forget all those fancy aftermarket air filters, especially for street use, you aren't going to do any good.

                      Cheers!

                        Hi guys.
Is the cbr250r still a good bike to buy even though we have options like Duke mojo etc.because the bike came out a long time ago and the only upgrade it had seen are stickers.reason I am asking is because one of my friend wants to buy it but he thinks its a very old bike and the production might stop soon with an upgraded model.he intends to use it for at least 5 years.

Can I marry Isha Deol, when Sunny Leone and Cheryl Cole are available? Well, it depends on whom I like, whom I have the guts to express my love to and who accepts you, most importantly where your heart lies. All have the same thing, albeit in different sizes, and different build. I can't think of any best example.

                          Cheers!

Is this bike a good buy when it was launched a long time ago.because it seems like they might stop the model anytime or are they planning to keep it for a longer time and then probably release 300r

No one knows what honda is thinking about indian market. They could have launched globally updated 250R but instead gave only new stickers...so its not worth to wait for CBR 300...(IMO)
