MRF is good & I've only tested the rear tires;Originally posted by sanjaysangar1990 View PostWill it be wise choice to go back to conti again, if MRF are not available with latest dates and Michelin being out of my budget
Comparing MRF non radial & radial versus Michelin pilot sporty (non radial) - I think Michelin, though non radial, is slightly better in terms of grip & life

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I changed my rear tyre to same as stock - contigo, 2.8k, fitting free. They have a new model from continental - scuba. It is 140/70, and supposedly offers superior wet grip. Costs 3500. This was at Lal tyres, whites road, Chennai.

I feel contigo is good for tour/offroad/dry tarmac. but not for cornering or wet condition. Its less prone to punctures. if bike has ABS, contigo is good enough.Last edited by Harisankar; 01-07-2016, 02:20 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
My kind advice, stay away from sellers (brokers/Agents). You never know what had happened, and a very thorough verification is required, since the model is 2011. Buy it directly from any existing owner. I've had bad experience with them and one seller did spell the beans out accidentally.Originally posted by biker123 View PostThat is what the seller claims. Don't know if ODO on CBR can be tampered.
Any comments on pricing?

Re: Oil Query
Ohk I wasnt aware of it.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostThis is a myth. Piston glazing is independent of oil used. When people baby the bike a lot in run in phase, rings/piston walls get glazed before bedding in. If you change rings in an already glazed bore, rings won't bed in.
Mineral oils provide decent protection (up to 40-50%) of FS oil intervals and cost 25%. I feel mineral oils are fine for city usage unless one doesn't hit the highway regularly.
From my experience I have seen mineral oil to be quiet harsh after 4K r and post 1000 kms but with FS its absolutely a gem.

Re: Oil Query
Depends upon the engine and its tolerances. And the quality of oil used, obviously. FS definitely provides superior protection, but a mineral does no harm either.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostOhk I wasnt aware of it.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hey guys.
I've recently changed my brakepads of 2013 ABS about 1k kms back and the brakes aren't that good in feel compare to the previous brakepads.
These pads lack bites ( front and rear ) on both. I did check the pads wearing and theyre pretty new and heavy looking still, now 2-3 days back it started having some lag on my front brake lever. Its like the lever got some levels of braking, when i pull the lever slowly like we normally use in the traffic.. the lever gets stuck just within an inch of pull and thn i have to pull it with a little more pressure to make the brake work.
It feels like the lever had ran out of oil and having some friction inside though the brake oil in up to the level and looks good in color.
I hope you guys understood the problem as im guessing i made it very confusing as i couldnt explain properly 😶
Thanks in advance

when was the last time the brake lines were bleeded ? replace with DOT 4
also get the calliper sealed checked. these are sure shot signs of they giving up soemtime soon. costs 150 bucks off for 4 seals.

low compression engines do just fine with mineral oils however High comp ones run tighter tolerances and higher temps hence FS works better."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I went for contigo coz it made no sense for me to buy a sticky track tire when all I use it for is to buy milk, and the occasional top speed run. The new tyre is good, offering easy corner carving and aggressive lane splitting. Grip is a relative word, I've found.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I've heard conti go aren't that reliable, I changed my rear conti go at 13000km , it punctured 5 times continuously, I'm right now on a 140/60 mrf tyre... Faces no problems at 17000km , changing both front and rear soon... That tyre I put in, was free of charge.. Soo yeah ,Ive heard quality wise conti go lacks, other options being the best is Michelin, which is pricy but I've heard the tyre life is long, mrf on the other hand is cheaper but reliable but lacks wet grip... Pirelli again are track tyres, I think soft compound will wear out faster..Originally posted by leech View PostI went for contigo coz it made no sense for me to buy a sticky track tire when all I use it for is to buy milk, and the occasional top speed run.
