I have already done 35k kms with my stock chain and sprockets. Can anyone suggest any performance sprockets and chain for a change and where to get it.

Hi Leech,Originally posted by leech View PostSir, what is the cost of the relay? Is it user replaceable?
How much kms did your current chain and sprocket last?
I've changed my front tyre to same Contigo at 25000 kms
. Never had a problem with them, since I never corner at speed, nor will this bike ever see the inside of a track.
The relay is user replaceable, as its located on the right hand side of the Bike's frame. I guess you can view it directly without removing the faring, but to get a comfortable position for replacing you have to remove the right hand side faring. Both the relays are placed adjacent to each other and am not sure which is for which.
The cost of 2 relay is 297.24(inclusive of VAT).
And odometer reading during service is 24877. The life could have been more, but for past 2 months(around 3k Kms) I did not maintain the chain very well as I have planned to change this set around Jan 2016. And the adjustment in the chain still has one more notch, but due to lack of proper maintenance the chain has elongated much, so I have changed it.
I am also trying to setup a self lubricating system like Scottoiler system used by abhimanyu31 for his Ninjs San (http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/general-...ml#post1063171), but without the complex electronics involved. Am thinking to use gravity for oil flow control. Still its in drawing board stage, looking forward to complete it soon before the new set starting to get old

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Scottoiler looks good. However, its not for the likes of me. I like the smell of gear oil on my hands, and my rims haven't been cleaned since I bought the bike. Every week, just 10 minutes is enough to clean the chain, that too without a paddock.
As to the relays, did you manage to get their names/part numbers? I would like to stock up on electrical spares. Tia.Last edited by leech; 04-08-2016, 08:29 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
The part number as available on the bill for the relay is 38501-KWN-901 and the name is mentioned as RELAY COMPMICROIS.(No idea what it means).
As I mentioned, the same type of relay is used for Radiator fan and the fuel pump motor individually.
Regarding Scottoiler, Am just a fan of the way it works and not the cost associated with it. You can check the result of this in his chain sprocket life, which is good compared manually maintained. But I wont bother to buy it, as it costs very much when imported and does not justify for our regular road use.
And you are using gear oil to lubricate the chain?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Yes. Just gear oil. Sometimes I use engine oil. I clean it with an old, clean cloth. So far, its given good results, despite my riding style. I don't know how long a chain is supposed to last, but if my chain lasts 28000 kms, I would be quite pleased.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I have used system G for more than one year, I have found some minor difference after 3 to 4 tank fills. This has been used by many here for ages, both in car an bike. So no harm in using this.
But now instead of every tank full, am using it in every second fuel fill.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hey guys it's been almost 20 days since I got my bike. I'm hearing a thud sound from the pillion seat area whenever I go over a bump. Checked the toolkit and placed it intact under the rubber band but still the sound is there. I'm not able to figure out from where the sound is produced. Any idea?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Ride once without toolkit to check if it is the real culprit. There is nothing in rear which makes such "thud" noise -- all plastic except chassis end. I do hear that too, but it is of the toolkit and an extra wheel lock which I keep below the seat.Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View PostHey guys it's been almost 20 days since I got my bike.
