My main reason for opting for a CBR is the engine refinement more than anything and the good mid and top range tho low end can be better.I could still go for a er6n or 6f, but lack of abs is off putting and with benelli also introducing abs for their 600 by the year end, I think Kawasaki should too, but coming to the CBR 650f I don't trust svm Honda in Chennai aynavaram, looks like the only Honda showroom n service that are keeping the 650s.
I agree with you.Likewise we have a Maruti 800 in our home. Its been almost 14 years and the car is as good as new.And even in future i would stick with Maruti. If Honda has served you well stick with it.Likewise for my bike i had Pulsar AS200 and it wa a complete disaster. So i would never take a bajaj bike ,doesn't matter how much VFM it is.But with KTM Duke 200 i found it it is having no engine issues or any sort of issues. So i will stick with KTM.
I think its just that one needs a bike from the factory which is having no manufacturing defect. And Honda is one such company.Although KTM is not that great when it comes to trouble free bike, but luckily i got one :-)
I also feel Honda engines are a world apart ones. Its smooth, refined, can be pushed to any limit....Its just a versatile one.

Guys I have a doubt, I have been running on a 140/60 17 rear tyre since 12000km bikes at 20000 now , I'm planning to Change front n rear together , got the smaller tyre for free , thought I'll run it till my front wears out n change both the front n back together. I have a query , I know my cornering n handling was slightly affected but I feel as if my seat height dropped , can anyone shed some light? I changed my rear conti because of continuous puncturing which was hugely frustrating, soo changed it to a new smaller tyre no cost of course, I'll post the pics would like to know any long term issues will crop up, and I felt like the bike with the stock tyre had more height obviously, but I'm jus slightly concerned.

what cause the drive chain to show uneven slack? To be precise, when rotating the rear wheel, chain feels loose at one point but much tighter at some other point. Its a bit headache while adjusting the chain slack. Can it be fixed? My chain is the stock one and completed 12K kms so far.
Chains always wear unevenly, that's why you see tightness in one end and loose on other end you must always adjust the chain from it's tightest point to the right slack. It's the same with all motorbikes.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Thnx for reply. yes. I am adjusting the slack at the tightest spot of the chain. I asked because I was in doubt anyway it can be resolved it by some adjustment.

I am facing an extra sound from the engine when idling the bike at cold engine temperature. Sounds like "katch katch - katch ". Like a stitching machine. It is inaudible when the bike is revved. It disappears when the engine is idling hot, temp gauge showing 3 bars.

            Any clues?

the over all diameter of the tyre is reduced hence lower seat height. however it ill eat up your FE. lower top end but better acceleration and wrong speeds shows on speedo as its synced with tacho to show speed. if you want to keep profile 60 then search for 160/60 else 140/70 stock. if you can extend a bit. get michelin pilot street. best tyre

chain wears uneven as mentioned however sometimes due to incorrect alignment and tightening it damages the chain permanently to the level where any adjust ment will not be helpful. make sure you dont run with overly tight or overly loose chain for long duration.

Does this cam chain tensioner require immediate attention, or I can ride around for a while?

Yeah.. Indeed.. It is an important part.. It provides required tension on cam chain.. By pressing against cam chain guide.

Although severity of its fault differs from person to person..

Personally i would advise to get it changed because if it fails completely it might result in total engine breakdown and replacing whole of cylinder kit is much expensive affair.

A bit of local rides shouldn't be an issue but avoid any long rides and get it changed asap.

I was going through Olx and found this.
This guy is selling it for INR 63000/-
                      Model year - 2013
"Honda CBR 250 R black, only 12000 km. Run 30+ milage. lowest prz sell
or exchange with any good bike agar apki bike ki value kam hogi to upar ki payment karni hogi .
My bike is perfact no any kind of problm , self start, both disk brek, display fuel pump injector all things is perfact .
Noida nmbr bike location at preet vihar delhi."

This is what he states in the ad.
For Rs. 63000/- its pretty cheap.
So i was just wondering if it's worth buying it. I am going to see the bike on coming Tuesday.
I have been riding P220 from last 4 years so this bike even in bad shape will sound smooth to me.
He also says rear tyre is new and is MRF Rev-Z.

From the pics I bet he has maintained it poorly. The headlight assembly seems to be of the 150r. Check for accident history of the bike if it's regularly serviced in a particular SVC.

Look at the condition of this bike

I cant understand why would you even bother to go and check this badly maintained bike?

I dont know why i am getting this feeling that this is not a genuine seller.

Do check the paperwork very carefully as it could be stolen vehicle as well and the guy could fool you by offering a exchange of bike so that he gets a clean paper bike and you end up in troubles.

Better to invest some cash in your old bike rather than wasting on this bike.

Rest its upto you to decide!

Was just looking for a change.
What i was thinking that the Body Panels are cheap and can be replaced and a showroom service, total will cost me less than Rs. 10000/-.
                            I will take it for 60K Spend 10K, Total - 70K
In 70K, I cannot even get a 2012 model. That is what i was thinking.
Well, i should drop it for now and wait.

                            Thanks for suggestions.

The bike u showed , looks in bad shape, fairing is not very expensive but wat about engine health?there will be bikes which looks good to our eye, but we will never know the health of the engine once ridden.
