The gear lever is attached to the gear spindle with a bolt, you can loosen it and then adjust accordingly. But you cannot get a perfect match, either it will be very low or very high, very difficult to find a perfect match. I have tried this myself but failed.

I guess, am replaying it a little late. But still it can be of some help. You have 2 ways to adjust the gear lever position

    1. Like sanjaysangar1990 explained, you can remove the bolt connecting the rod to the gear box, pull out the connection and slightly rotate left or right to your liking, Insert and put the bolt back on and tight.(The position is marked in the image with red circle.)

    2. You can slightly remove the rubber cover on either side of the silver rod(connecting the actual gear lever to the gear box, marked the position with green arrow), release both the nuts such that it moves inwards. Now rotate the silver rod on either clockwise/anti-clockwise direction to move the gear lever to your desired position. Once done you can tighten the nut so that the rod cannot be rotated in any direction.

You can choose any of the above method to correct the gear lever, point 1 is for major movement and point 2 can be done for finer movement and you can get your desired position

I have found a campaign in Honda website regarding recall of Honda CBR's(both 150 and 250), this is regarding a faulty relay unit in starter motor.

I am quoting the exact content below from the link "Campaign | Honda#"

however, no such incident has been reported in any HMSI manufactured vehicle in India. The concerned part to be replaced free of cost in the identified units irrespective of the warranty status of the vehicle across all India Honda Network. With this move, Honda globally reinforces its commitment to providing highest quality products and customer satisfaction.
You can check if your bike falls under using the VIN of your bike.

P.S. I have not seen any post regarding this anywhere, so if its very old please excuse.

Guys have a query. I just took a look at a used CBR250, odo is very less. But it belongs to the first batch, this is bought in December 2011. I am thinking of getting it.

Right side faring has some scratches and there is also a small crack in the right side faring. What will be the cost of changing the right side faring alone. I am in Chennai BTW.

Check the 9th and 10th digit in chassis number. 9th digit is for month and 10th is for year.

                    a-January

                        Replaced my tyres today

                        Front : MRF revz FC1 110/70 R17 - 2700rs - September 2015 manufactured
                        Rear : MRF Zapper S 140/70 17 - 3200rs - September 2015 manufactured.

Now I have a radial front and bias ply rear, I did search for zapper FY but failed miserably hence I had to opt for MRF revz FC1 for front as the contigo had no life left.

Few pages back there was a small discussion on using radials and bias ply as a combination, as I did not have any other option I went for radial and bias ply combination. Will this have a drastic effect on different aspects regarding handling n stuff ?

The MRF dealer informed me that that the shelf life of these tyres is 4-5 years and MRF is also providing manufacturing defects warranty, is this true ?

I hope I have not brought old manufacturing date tyres.

                        Cheers,
                        Sanjay

I went to the SVC kept the bike there and came home. the next day I went to the SVC to check the clearances myself in presence of the mech. The clearances were all fine, checked for the rocker arms and camshafts, none of them showing signs of wear and tear. After this I purposely asked the mech to check for timing chain, he just looked at it and said this is normal and refitted the block again. after everything was checkedI went home. The sound is still there

I have 2 spare chain tensioners with me one is damaged and one is new, the other one is fitted in the bike. So last Sunday I removed the existing CCT and plugged in the new one and then went on for a small 3Km ride I was still getting vibes on the tank and the handle bar and footpegs, not annoying though. came back home and then plugged in the old damaged one and the same sound was still there got frustrated and removed the CCT again and I put my fingers inside just to find out that the timing chain guide has a play in it (could this be cause of the noise and the mild vibes I am getting ? ) My next service is due in April and I am thinking of getting the timing chain and timing chain guide replaced. But before replacing them, can somebody put some light on the question I have asked ?

                        Cheers,

Regarding mfg date of the tyres, it's not too old. And what the dealer said is correct, in general the tyres has shelf life of 4-5 years. And you can claim if any defect you find is related to manufacturing defects.

Coming to you tyre construction, i have not much idea, experts/senior rider can comment on it.

Its said that front radial/rear bias-ply is strictly no but front bias-ply/rear radial is ok. Even the HD comes with the latter configuration. The reason is believed to be variation in grip due to different compounds. The front is the key while cornering and so the rear bias ply will not cope up with the front in case of the former configuration. But in vice versa case it's ok.

I had a rear radial/front bias-ply earlier and when I switched to both radials the grip difference was phenomenol.

Warranty can be claimed only if your tyre has no punctures. These dealers will tell anything to sell but when you come back for warranty they say some stupid bull **** stuff. Last time when I tried to claim warranty for a genuine side wall issue in the rear tyre they said as the tyre is punctured it can't be replaced.

September ones are pretty recent. My friend was fooled with 5 year old tyres from Chevy showroom for his Cruze when he claimed for. Insurance due to an accident. That was horrible.
                              Ride Safe!

                              Cheers,
