LED is always low wattage and will never drain battery however HID on other side will hog more battery is you are riding heavy traffic most times.

most people will ask now why stage 2 is HID and stage 3 is LED.
pretty simple. LED is the future. runs cooler , sucks fraction of power compared to HID , no startup delays , double the lumen 1800 vs 4000 and reliability.
Hey, pics please! And the link too! I want more light and I don't have 18k for the HID + projector setup they're demanding.
Do you have just the LED bulb or LED + projector?

I found this link - http://www.cyclopsadventuresports.co...ulb-_p_83.html
Total landing cost with priority shipping is 7,500.

Iron horse, yes I will be changing to Shell next service as part of my experiments.

You mention Honda oil dying at 3k. Is there a proven link between engine smoothness and life of oil? Because, that logic, if applied to the oil I currently use, means castrol power1 lasts for 1000 kms max.

Has anyone in Mumbai managed to get their hands on the new cosmetic CBR250R? I've called several outlets here and they're clueless. they're offering the older model for 2,21,968!

I want the ABS version, hope it's not outdated as compared to the Pulsar RS200!

Thanks

Rs200 can never hold candle in front of CBR250R, no matter how many times you compare it. No offense meant to the owners, but its a plain fact.

When you pay 221000 odd rs, you get dual channel ABS and a gem of a engine and a flawless liquid cooling system. in recent chennai floods many bikes were submerged yet they came out with flying colors.

RS200 is also a good bike, but when comparing it with the CBR it will always loose.

Spares for CBR250 are at a bit higher side when compared to the RS200, but hey!!! how many times you have seen a CBR250R failing or giving up on you, the last 5 years are a testimony to that except aargee engine seizure issue.

Wonder where is aargee gone, we were hoping to see 100000 kms on his Loved CPR.

Thanks mate, I have the money for the CBR 250 ABS. I am from Mumbai, any issues with regular spares being available? I come from a Hero Karizma R. Spares weren't cheap with that either, but again as you said, I rarely needed them! I am 5.7 and would appreciate if majority of my feet made contact with the ground. I believe the seat is lower to that of the RS200?

Lastly, is the CBR250R outdated in anyways?

There is no documented proof of the engine oil giving up at 3K kms. However as per many user experience the HONDA oil gives up post 3K kms. I have personally noted this and while draining the HONDA oil after 3K kms, it had become water. As far as shell advance ultra is concerned it can hold much higher temp and drain interval is also long. I am running on the Shell now it has been 3300 kms and I still feel i can push it forward till 4500kms. as for other people are concerned @aargee has completed almost 60000 Kms and theironhorse99 around 30K kms on shell oil without any fuss and in recent months many cbr250 owners are shying away from HONDA oil as it is not doing the job when it is tagged as fully synthetic.

No comments about Castrol power1, have never used it.

Below are the spares you will need very frequently, frequently in the sense every 4-5 months

1. Engine Oil
2. Oil Filter
3. Air Filter

and if spares are desperately needed, VIHAAN Honda in Thane Manpada have all the necessary stock available. I get my bike serviced there.

In case of accident, you need to be patient enough for 2-3 weeks for the bike to get completely repaired.

My younger brother is around 5.7 ft and he never felt any issues regarding feet contact on ground.

I Smell a upgrade to CBR250R in the next auto expo, because only HONDA and SUZUKI are remaining to up the numbers in the sub 250-300cc game, if you can hold on your horses, then your patience might pay off very nicely.

If you cannot resist the CBR250R, you can go ahead and buy it as it has ample power to put a smile on your face everytime you will ride it.

Cheers,

Thanks, FYI my riding isn't much. Maybe 18 KMS a day I don't think it'll be too much on maintenance. I am without a bike now as I've sold the Karizma, hence need a bike. Would have gone in for a used CBR, but don't see anything great on OLX!

Go ahead and buy it Man!!! you will seriously not regret your decision at all. And if at all CBR300 is making its way to India expect the price to shoot up around 2.6 or 2.7K which in my opinion is too much to ask for a single pot.

Sure, is the riding position racist? How is rear pillion comfort?

Riding position is a mix of comfort and racy, but the latter can be said for CBR's seating positiion. For first few days you will have wrist pain, but later you will love the seating position. My Fiance never cried on the pillion seat, nor my mother and nor my brother. CBR with 2 up is the best bike in the price bracket.

And if ever there is some uneasiness in the seat, the CBRs plush suspension will soak the bumps very nicely.

Cheers,

with dyeing i do not mean unusable . its starts degrading post that usage. the stickiness and smell is diffrent. also if you look at temps we have in summer hovering around 45+ during peak months... the motor becomes vibery and engine oil takes a hit.

there are many things to check the oil..
stickiness test.
thickness
smell.
colour. and as i have seen all these pointers post 3000 km on honda oil adds to what i said above. i don't ride like a maniac but not sedate either.
also shell holds very well for my long rides where i keep the machine 100+ for hours at times.
