You can claim insurance but then your insurance premium would go up. The cost of fairing plus exhaust heat shield should be below 5k, iirc.

Another problem is that you will fall again. And you will have to replace the same parts again. If you're one of those guys who want their bikes to look perfect, you will have to spend more.

Personally I don't want to keep spending on a depreciating asset. After 4-5 falls, I just change the parts that affect performance, like handlebar, levers, mirror and indicators.

Though the FZ16 oil filter is a direct fitment, it is not recommended and how much money you going to save over 6000 kms use.

Finally decided on the CBR 250 ABS.
I ditched the idea of duke 390 for it will be a pain in ass riding in the city. Although it's a VFM product, the metz, abs, 44 horses. Its very tempting but the niggles keep me away.
Plus im not a speed monster. I plan going beyond 120 on Indian highways. And i hope the cbr will be more than enough.
                    I hope I'm right.

I don't like the color scheme at present. Red looks cheap. Golden cals don't do justice to black. Pearl amazing white is what im thinking of.
Please opine if u think otherwise.

It's not about saving money. It is about availability. Cbr's filter is not available in the market here.

The filter paper density and no of pleates which increases the filtering area also matters, so unless and until it is emergency 40rs oil filter should not be substituted for an oe 270rs one.

Well, thats your choice: you can change it every 2k also. Engine oil and filter replacement is up to user.

The only reason OEM filter is ₹270-312 is because it's imported from Thailand while the fz filter is made in India.

It's Std...i don't feel the need for ABS, coz u can't do wheelies & stoppies with ABS, & moreover ABS is a good feature but if u know how to apply brakes, u don't need ABS...!!!

If going with manufacturers recommendation about oil change interval then why not go with manufacturer's provided spares and instead go with which is not made for /not recommended/not made by the manufacturer for it ??
