    • I went for the first servicing today at absolute honda, mahipalpur. Experience was quite good as the servicing was done quickly. But there is one problem, i told them washing guy specifically not to spray the water in radiator directly, he said ok but later on i found out that the fins in the centre of the radiator are bent. So is there any problem while riding the bike in this condition? I mean will it impact the performance of the bike in someway like in cooling or something else?

      Pls help me. Thanks.

I'm a fill it,sht it , forget it type of guy and I've heard that RE bikes demand daily attention,be it Loose chain or Clutch problem or others. This is 2013, Bull's are'nt as un reliable as they used to be, HECK! I know complete idiots who ride em without any issues at all. The UCE Blocks are as reliable as any current bike in the market can get. I know one guy in particular, he's my junior rides a C350 with a goldie. The bikes more than a year old, and I've seen him rev the crap out of that thing, the only time I've seen the bike not ridden in WOT is when the bikes not ridden at all i.e he's pushing it to the nearest BUNK He pours in 120rs petrol daily for riding a total of 60~65kms, which I believe is cheap cause with his kinda riding thats more than expected. And here's the best part, his ride is in way better shape than my ZMA even after all the torture. He has offered me TD several times, but I've declined, cause frankly I cant ride an RE.

Now about the ZMR, its an eye turner for sure. I'd suggest you either get the ZMA which is priced at 90k or the C350 priced at 1L or the CBR ABS Priced at 2L. Cause I personally feel considering that you're ready to get a 250R that the options in between like ZMR etc would just be a waste of money. Just my opinion though.

        Ride Safe, cheers.

Actually,i 've booked a ZMR but many people advised me to get a CBR 250 instead.. so i'm confused
Although in terms of power their's no comparison, my main concern is my phsique. I'm 6'2 and a 115kg monster,so considering the height n bulky body,do you think i would be able to handle CBR 250 ? I have read reviews that CBR is a bike best suited for people till 5.8" ,anything above that and you (can) get back problems. The Performance is not a factor i guess.

My main reason for getting a bike is to and fro clg and tutions. So 95% it would be bumper to bumper traffic. Once a month or two,i would be doing 50kms+ ride.
So what do u guys suggest ? Considering my Big Built and Height ,should i go for CBR 250 or stick up with ZMR ?
Please Be frank, as its a lot of investment !!

P.S: went for a TD but it was a really a small one to conclude anything.

          Have you checked P180 or NS200 ??

CBR or RE is more than required in city. Both are better highway bikes.

If your ride is city only, Don't go for Fairing bikes, go with naked ones.
P180 is one of the best power/handling in city. And can be used on highways too goes easily 100kmph+

Aren't these discussions more suited to the "Which Bike?" thread? I see less of CBR250s here and a lot more queries on whether someone should buy a CBR or a ZMR or R15s or Bullets!
Guys, please keep these queries to the "Which Bike" thread. These topics have been discussed endlessly over there. Please do not ask redundant questions. Guess we need moderator intervention here.

On topic: My left-outer fairing has become a bit wobbly compared to the right one and vibrates quite a bit. I checked the fairing bolts on the outside and the inner side hear the horn mount (the ones which which you an adjust with the provided Allen keys) and they were tight. Where else can I look for loose mount-points?

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

The kms and conditions you mentioned are exactly like mine.Daily 30 km in traffic and weekend rides.Got myself a CBR tri colour std six months back and I'm happy than ever except the brake of std version feels spongy(became good after master cylinder replacement but again went bad after 100kms or so ).I'm thinking of DOT4 liquid and steel braided brake line though have to check availability and feasibility of the 2nd option..
..I'll term CBR as most practical quarter liter in indian riding condition(atleast for me )

@bbsrailfan what actually do you mean by wobbly? ..I have seen body rattles or vibes actually vanishes if you open and refit bodyworks(though I don't have any clue about the 4-5k rpm rattle, that thing seems stuck forever watever I have tried I failed)..

              • Got my bike joeled..

Hello everyone.. I got my cbr250r joeled..
i sent my bike by train from mumbai to bangalore ,got it delivered on 29th jan.. need to mention that it came in the same good condition as it went (SPECIAL THANKS TO MR JOEL JOSEPH FOR PACKING THE BIKE SO CAREFULLY)
was waiting for a long time for the time to be correct for all this.. finally discussed with joel about the dates and works to be done and sent the bike..
                FOLLOWING ARE THE WORKS DONE:
                1. CYLINDER HEAD PORTING
                2. MODIFIED INTAKE SYSTEM
                3. STOCK REPLACEMENT FILTER
                4. STIFFER CLUTCH SPRINGS
                5. STEERING DAMPER
                6. FRONT AND REAR SUSPENSION TUNE
                7. STEEL BRAIDED BRAKE LINES
now as these concepts are not new.. so i hope there is no need to tell about these things..
the headwork , intake mod along with the air filter has contributed together for a smooth and powerful ride, the gear shifts are much much smoother now, the stock exhaust growl has changed..
THE MOST INTERESTING BIT WHICH I REALLY LOVED A LOT IS THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE BIKE IN HANDLING DEPARTMENT..

the steering damper, the front and rear suspension tune is must for all cbr250r owners.. the bike cannot be compared with R15 but has improved a lot.. now i can say the cbr250r as a track bike..AS SAID BY JOEL ITSELF.. THE BIKE DOESNT FEEL LIKE A LAZY BOAT NOW..its now very good at corners and the maneuvaring has imroved at great extent
IT NOW HAS THAT HOOLIGAN CHARACTER LIKE THE KTM DUKE200, AND THE RPM NEEDLE CLIMBS THE SAME WAY LIKE THE DUKE DOES, EVEN THOUGH THE STOCK CBR250R IS ANYDAY FASTER THAN THE DUKE, I AM JUST TALKING ABOUT THE CHARACTER HERE
THE STEERING DAMPER WAS A VERY GOOD IDEA.. IT HELPS A LOT AT HIGH SPEEDS

WAITING FOR THE EXHAUST NOW.. WILL REPORT ONCE AGAIN AFTER THE EXHAUST IS DELIVERED AND INSTALLED..
NEED TO MENTION THAT DESPITE OF JOEL BUSY IN HIS RACING SEASON HE MANAGED TO REMOVE TIME FROM HIS BUSY SCHEDULE AND COMPLETE THE WORK BEFORE THE DATE THAT WAS GIVEN TO ME.. A BIG BIG THANKS TO HIM..
I COULDNT WAIT FEW MORE DAYS OTHERWISE I WAS PREPARED FOR THE HEART SURGERY THAT IS THE BIG BORE AND OTHER STUFFS.. BUT WOULD BE GOING AGAIN THIS YEAR TO GET THE SURGERY DONE

PLZ DO FORGIVE ME FOR THE MISTAKES AND THE SHORT REVIEW, AS THIS IS MY FIRST TIME I AM WRITING A REVIEW
                ..

                THANK YOU EVERY ONE

                  @bambi143 :
Wobbly as in - it rattles if shaken by hand (or if I go over a bad patch of roads) but doesn't vibrate under normal operation on smooth roads. If definitely feels like one of the fairing mounting points has not been fastened properly - but when i checked, all the 4 visible mounting points were properly tightened.

That's great to hear !! Would you mind sharing the costs involved? I am kinda unhappy with the the handling as well - guess I will need to redo the steering and suspension bits as well.

                  • @bbsrailfan the inner mounts of the fairing are very weak ..so is the mounts of the headlight ..a very minor fall say even from stand still can cause breakage ..so I would suggest open the wobbly fairing once check if the mounts nd clips( if deres any) are intact(cause the screw will remain tight regardless of the mount is intact or not)..then refit.. in my case it solved rattles two times..

@FZERIDER congrats on the mods..please share detailed review and cost..

while being parked if you can shake the fairing then its definitely a loose nut.
while being parked just tap the fairing every where and see if you get any hollow knocks. identify the area then check for the nuts relevant for it.
if its tightened properly then get it opened. put a rubber washer and get it tightened again.

another thing due to regular riding. small pebbles and stones/debris gets acuumulated in either of the fairings and makes weird vibes at 4k and above RPM
so get them open and shake it while upside down.. you will be surprised

plastic mounts and fairings tend to loosen out with time due to awsome road conditions in India..
so rubber washers and careful riding is only way to safeguard the rattling.

finally someone gets the CBR joeled. seems to be good as far as the mods are mentioned.

joeled stated somewhere in the other thread that with head work , intake and his ffe they were able to shove off 1 sec in 0-100 running flat out.
if that true you have a n250r killer.

if you dont mind then would request the cost involved to be mentioned so other members can be benefitted too.

Hey, I too bought my bike from Absolute and get it serviced there. If the washing guy doesn't listen to you just speak to the manager there. You can also speak to Mr. Puneet, the owner of the showroom. He is a nice person and will listen to you.

Check One: Besides the bolts, there are two clips which secure the outer fairing to the inner one. One of these is close to the indicator and the other is a bit towards the rear, somewhere midway along the length.

Now, this clip has a white/transparent plastic bush around it to make the join with the inner fairing free of play. At times, this bush slips off, either by chance or due to the ASC's negligence. If this happens, and the OF is fastened to the IF, there is a characteristic rattle/wobble.

Check Two: If the above is ok, then there may be an unseen crack in the OF causing the rattle. Highly unlikely, unless you have pranged the bike, so option one would be the cause, methinks.

Thanks sir! Will look for the white bushes. Probably it's some negligent ASC engineer's handiwork, as the fairing issue has come up only after my 1st service. I was afraid to disassemble the whole fairing, coz if I mess up, I will land up in a worse rattle than what I am facing now.

I am still extremely dissatisfied with the mileage - have completed almost 1000 kms now, 1st service over, using Honda 10W30 FS and the engine is lot more free now - but still I am getting a miserable 24-25kpl in city (heavy traffic riding at 4000-5000 RPM, shifting at 5500 RPMs) and 30 in highway (Cruising at 6000 RPM/100 KPH).

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!
