    Dear Rahul,

You are correct in correcting me :-).

I am fortunate that my CBR has been trouble-free from day one i.e. 14 May 2011. No issues whatsoever - squeaks, rattles, nose-cone, braking, all perfect. The Pune-Rajkot trip, done with just about 11 kms on the odo and the flawless behaviour of the bike spoke volumes about its reliability. It is indeed a beautiful machine, in looks and performance. I ride it daily to the office and back and come rain or come shine, she behaves perfectly.

I realise that what I should have said was that she may not be the bike for me. And as you very rightly put it, this is a personal issue. Thanks, bro, for the advice.

The latest development is that my son does not want me to sell it!!! He wants it after 5 years when he will be eligible for a license. And reading about how bikers here are desperate for their CBRs, I think I should not throw away Rohan Honda's generosity in giving me the most awaited bike in India on time, in time...

I have yet to make up my mind but might defer the sale by a couple of years, 2 or 3. The P220 reviews are, at times, contradictory.

Great to see you reach those speeds. I trust you have an ABS CBR. Personally, I would not try to reach speeds far in excess of 100 since I think the bike is a little light for the kind of mass one needs to stay at these speeds safely. The brakes too are light-weight. But if you feel safe, have fun and add 10 kmph on my behalf too

A disc lock with alarm would be a costlier investment but the best solution. i have heard the electronic security systems getting damaged with water and even consequently damaging the ECU of the bike (happened with two of my friend's bikes and a strict NO by my mech).. Also they may void the warranty of the bike. where as disc locks are simpler and better. good luck for your bike..
You gotta risk it.. to get da biscuit !!!

                    • Some ******* dropped my bike while it was parked

Today, while my bike was parked in college, some idiot toppled my bike. HAVEN'T EVEN HAD THIS BIKE FOR 3 WEEKS NOW... Result....

                      1) Left fairing popped out and dented slightly.
                      2) Right fairing has lots of scratches at one end and has to be repainted/replaced.
                      3) Headlight has 3 deep scratches.
                      4) Either the handlebar is misaligned or the front wheel is.
                      5) Front visor seems slightly asymmetrical.
                      6) Silencer is scratched.
                      7) Service technician thinks that maybe there is damage to front suspension.

My question is, how the hell can all this happen in just one stationary fall, or did someone start with the intent of wrecking havoc on my poor 3 week old bike....

Does anyone have any tips for me to deal with the damage (physical for the bike and mental for me)?

PS: I already talked to Wings Honda in Pune. They said that they haven't received any spares apart from oil and oil filter... Wonder how I'm going to get all this repaired. Also, they are saying that it'll take 5 days to repaint one fairing, so I'll either have to give the bike to them or ride 5 days without the right fairing. This just sucks.

Feel really bad for you and your ride.....but I know how this happen, experienced one in a parked CBR .(Attending a phone call in there).

Most of the time young group of people who usually drive/handle smaller/lighter bike approached towards it,first they start clicking pic with mob, then standing beside cbr clicking, then sat on it & getting snap with it, and next when someone on the bike (side stand support gone, sometime they remove) move from it's original position due to locked handle and weight (and huge faring blocking the Tyre position visibility) it slide one or other side. Once bike did, that intruder panicked and leave the bike, after that they just ran away from the place.

So don't park your bike in public parking lot, Or wait for couple of months when CBR is not exclusive and ppl know enough/familiar of it like R15/Ninja now.(though a green ninja still a crowd magnet)

Today service center called me for this problem, and they rectified the Handle issue, it's now normal as was before.
They lubricated the chain (for 80Rs.).
I had complaint about the top speed also, so they tested on the stand, and said it's going 176kph on Stand.
