I dont agree with this,It is because you have a less noisy horn,I am having Roots Windtones in my bike,Dual Horns and i had seen people jumping out of my way when i honked.
i am using roots megasonic in my both cars and if u heared them then u know how loud these horns are..
and used roots megasonic in my karizma and in r15 too for some time..
cudent get place to fit roots megasonic in cbr other wise will use megasonic only..

BUSA horn are same as cbr has or any scooty has or the same one in 100 cc bike.. single peep horn..

I picked up the copy of my RC today; Good thing is that RTO recognized 249.6cc while the BHP mentioned is 18.6 !!! Even if it were 25PS, then it should've been 23 Bhp. Don't know when & where the issue lies. Is it with the dealer or manufacturer or with RTO? Anyone? Any thoughts pls?
      bhp mentioned in rc

i havent seen any rc wid bhp written on it its only has cc and mine has 249 in rc.

Not seen any RC having BHP ???
I've 3 vehicles & all of them DO have Bhp mentioned & per my understanding, its part of the law to have the BHP mentioned in the RC.

          • Hey guys no offence to anyone, but I too feel last few pages of the topic are a waste.
Why are we discussing things like horns and BHP figures? Are we all not aware what are they?
Aim of the forum and all members should be have fruitful discussion which will help each other ride better and ride safe. Maintenance tips, mod tips etc should be the points of stress, is not it?
We all know the battery in CBR is inadequate n hence not changing the battery and changing the horn not gonna solve any problem!!! But changing the battery kills your warranty!!! (Checked with Service centre)

Well hope we veer to better things with the lil MASALA reqd to keep the forum interesting.

Just now checked my RC smart card. No mention of bhp.

We're discussing about the BHP figures mentioned on RC book & not on owner's manual or HMSI website!!! Go check your RC book & see if its being mentioned.

Here're mine; note the years starting from 1991, 2004 & 2011, they're standard & are part of the RC book.

I can post the fig of Waggy that reads 64; pls let me know if you'd like the evidence.

Ji...quite surprised; so does that mean, RTO laws also varies from state to state? Its a good learning for me!!!

EDIT - Sir do you've a book or paper based RC? May be its mentioned in it

Also did 2nd service it took some 4-5 days for SVC to fix everything i appreciate work done by Vihaan Honda (Thane) and i think its crruntly is the best SVC in this area. The mech also showed me Old shims and explain everything.
Who is the contact person here? I don't mind showing my bike here once. Anyone has any feedback on other service centres in Mumbai?
                    @aargee
^^ I don't think in Maharashtra it is mandatory for BHP to be written in the book. Both my CBR (Card) and my Pulsar RC (paper based) do not have BHP mentioned anywhere. BTW the unladen weight of my CBR is mentioned as 163 on the RC!

Anyways, wanted to know when does the radiator fan comes on usually? Rode a bit today in really heavy rain and it was pretty cool too and the fan didn't turn on even once! Unsure if this is something to worry about :S

In Pune, we get a smart card instead of a physical RC book. It is similar to a credit card and has a chip in it. (I know for sure that police don't have any equipment to read this chip). However, in any of my cars or bike, bhp is not mentioned. If you want, will scan one and mail it across to you.

Edit : there is no title for bhp on the smart card.

No no worries, I'll have a look at the original copy itself; its a matter of few more days

But, is there such a title mentioned at all in the RC book or there isn't any?

Unsure if this is something to worry about
Chicmagnet - Nothing to worry on the fan; its controlled automatically. Just keep your eyes keen on the temp guage on the panel. It should NEVER cross more than 3 bars (atleast for about 600-700 Kms, that's what I've tested)

Also, the book and card don't even have the BHP field.

Photocopy of insurance, Photocopy of license, Photocopy of RC book (will contain tax paid receipt as rubber stamp; not sure how it is in the North) & PUC.

When travelling out of state, change Photocopy to Original.

Tks to all who've helped me understand the BHP + RC part; may be someone from South & East can provide their inputs in addition.
