By the way, tried your given figures. My bike does 80-81km/hr @5K in 6th gear.

@argee: Sarr the squeaking sound is definitely from somewhere around the rear suspension. And it has started since I got the preload hardened by a mark at the SVC. Strangely though, with a pillion the sound kind of lessens.
By the way, tried your given figures. My bike does 80-81km/hr @5K in 6th gear. You are not a chemical. So think before you react.

My math was incorrect; 80 Kmph in 6th gear at 5K RPM is rightOriginally posted by dreamseller View PostBy the way, tried your given figures. My bike does 80-81km/hr @5K in 6th gear.
What's thisOriginally posted by dreamseller View PostI got the preload hardened by a mark at the SVC
Take to ASC & get it fixed on the squeaking noise; is it so audible?Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

just ask him again the next time you drop in regarding any cone set complaints that he was told recently.Originally posted by strikepackage View Posti meant the same thing, service. Anyways nosing around,i happened to have a word with the CBR tech over at Surya motors(i go there every now and then to keep track of the bike and to know whn it will come
),hes OK i asked him how was the session at HMSI for the CBR etc...he said he ate well while he was there.wht a mech!!!!i did ask abt cone set probs whether if he had received ny complaints...the reply was no, the bike is top notch and if there an issue "athu apparam pathikaalam"
-will c later.

was a kind of busy so my machine has not run more than 370 kms,and also because of the unpredictable weather used my rx more.today left the bike for service with complaints regarding excess heat, wobbling in the front, hard rear brake, shock absorbers hard .the tech test drove it and told steering is tight and jerks ll not be there after adjusting it.i told about cone set issues and one flat answer that i got was SIR THIS MACHINE IS TOP NOTCH NO ISSUES AT ALL ...OMG..i think honda can take him in as direct employee for his loyalty. was asked to take my vehicle back at 4 o clock.the vehicle was ready neatly washed and polished.drove it and i found the jerks still present and asked him about it,he replied that he had loosened the fork and now it is correct and he has driven it and found no jerks.he also told the pressure may be high in tubes that can give jerks, told him i fill n2 and and it is 29 for front and 32 for rear.aiyoo aiyoo....rear brake was ok now.i did not ask anymore to him ,just thought i could take it to didar t nagar after monday.total bill was 1218.260 for filter,368 for oil 50 misc.cahin lubing 90 and polishing 400.i was so pissed off with the front fork issue and was upset hence did not bother to ask about what that misc was .just planning now to take it to didar t nagar next week and check with them even if they are going to charge me thats fine I WANT IT TO BE RECTIFIED AT THE EARLIEST .
recieved my rc book and insurance too today and it said10.3 bhp and 125 cc and wheel base of 1265. and weight is 118...OMG......

Since i'm new to geared bikes and this is my first geared bike...i had practiced a little on other bikes...and it helped a lot
except a few situations in traffic, everything was fine...rode for 50 odd kms only, but the feel was amazing....
Also thanks to everyone here...all the advices and pointers given here have been very helpful..
Got my bike from Dream Honda in bangalore...and i would really recommend it to anyone planning to get the bike in bangalore...excellent service..

I mean the preload of the rear monoshock was hardened by one unit. It comes at the 2nd position in the factory setting, I got it set on 3rd in the 1st service.Originally posted by aargee View PostWhat's this

And the sound is pretty much audible at low speeds, even with my helmet on.
Also, while taking the bike out of the parking lot with the handle turned to one side, there is a faint squeak. I have no idea what's gone wrong. They seem little niggles, but sure do scare me.

^^^ Nothing to worry; just get the fear out of your mind by checking for faulty coneset. Also, check if the squeaking noise fades, if you set back the suspension to original setting.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Stuck a plastic sheet (same one used to cover books) on the front mudguard. It got a little burnt though since it was a little longer that I anticipated but it is fine now as after the burning (it got stuck to the exhaust pipe I believe), it doesn't reach till there!
Anyways, it didn't rain today and I rode for 70kms. Stones and gravel was thrown off quite a lot and the plastic sheet helped in avoiding those! Surprisingly after I stuck it, the bike engine kinda runs better now :S, as in more smoother than before! (It could be just in my mind though!)
@Dreamseller: I used to get sqeaks from my gear shifter so I put zorrik 88 (or you can put WD40) and now its all gone
. Probably pin point the sound from where it is coming, oil it a bit and you are ready to go!

Saving up for the next thing now
My new paddock stand and chain are waiting for me at SVC. This time Honda guys took seriously to my complaints and pithy mails. Hope the experience continues till a 600rr.

Not until nowOriginally posted by pravu View PostSo, Aargee, hows ur babe rolling? I hope you are not being haunted anymore like in your previous one.
; does 100 in a wink of an eye; 128 on any given circumstance; 135 without a sweat. Thankfully (or may be I'm not aware) there're no coneset or squeaking noises until now. But still, I haven't got over the fear from the past, so, I don't touch the vehicle other than cleaning. I don't even want to remove the fairing!!!

By the way, tried your given figures. My bike does 80-81km/hr @5K in 6th gear.I had a similar problem from the rear suspension like when i ride with a pillion there's some kind of sound from the rear suspension, but it goes when riding solo. I thought the sound comes because of some loose nuts here and there, when I inspected i found no probs all are perfect, so I asked SVC people to check it, but they told they have rectified it. when asked what was the probs they told some loose nutOriginally posted by dreamseller View PostI mean the preload of the rear monoshock was hardened by one unit. , but I didn't completely believed them. After couple of days the same sound came
.
I sprayed the rear suspension with Motul Chain lube
(read not the springs of rear suspension, the single rod inside the springs), sorry don't know what its called
. The sound has completely gone which was just a try from me, but I was successful
.
Don't know whether this is the same case for yours. Anyways please try yourself
.
