Did 145@9K in 6th. Is that alright?
Also, while riding slowly on not-so-smooth roads, I get to hear squeaking sounds. Although the handle is pretty much free to rotate. Should this sound be still attributed to the steering cone?
Regular details: 1st service at 750kms. Cost me INR 804. Not happy with the service though. Vehicle wash still pending, though looking at the way they wash the bikes I'm not complaining.
Kolkata owners, how's Todi's service quality? You are not a chemical. So think before you react.

Got my blade serviced on saturday and now I am feeling this problem of wierd vibrations after decreasing the speedOriginally posted by vivekdehury View PostI have completed 1k on odometer few days back but had got my bike serviced at 921km before completing 1000km as prescribed by the Honda manual primarily because of two strange problems which I never experienced with my pulsar. The reasons are:
A. A vibrations starts at around 30/40kph when I shut throttle and decrease speed. This can be felt on foot pegs and transmits to tank and seat later on. This problem started happening after around 800km of running. And this happens particularly when the bike is in either 4th gear or below that.
B. The handle bars wobble at low speeds even on plane roads though this problem was lessened to a large extant after the 1st servicing.
I am going to get it rechecked at the Fortune Honda(Hyderabad) after a couple of days and will see whether they are able to rectify it or not.But I want to know from you fellow bhpians is
A. Has anyone of you faced these problems on your famed quarter liter bike.
B. How could this happen even after meticulously following and ridding my bike the way it is suggested in the manual. Not to mention I still haven't crossed 6k mark on rpm meter.

Can anyone shed light on this?I feel like Peter Parker when I drive my Hunk in the city but I become Spiderman when I am on my CBR swinging from one lane to the other on expressways.

Hi Sumanth,Originally posted by sumantg View Post
The engine roughness has increased for the past 3 days, I noticed this after filling Shell Petrol (generally I use petrol in Indian oil or Bharat petroleum , first time I filled with Shell petrol). Also, pickup is dropped, very well noticeable.
I never crossed 5K RPM until 1400Km, after that I crossed 7K RPM during overtakes. Everyday, I commute 45KM .
Please let me know, if anyone facing the same problem.
So no improvement on the knocking bit even after Shell petrol huh? Besides, did you fill Shell Super or normal?
Its better if you take it to ASC and demand the issue to be fixed. I can come along if I dont have office that day.
Let me know on what you decide to do.

I bought it from Honda showroom, but they are sourcing it from local fabricator. They quoted it 3500 but I after barging and talking to the manager they agreed upon 3250/-. I know 3250/- is still expensive but I had no other options, but I can say the build quality is quite good and stand is sturdy and heavy. It has got 4 wheels and they are of good quality as well.

I have done 2 servicing, first one, only oil change at around 600kms as they didn't have filter available with them and second one both oil and filter change at around 1000kms.. first service cost was around 300 and second one was around 500...Originally posted by dreamseller View PostDid 145@9K in 6th. Kolkata owners, how's Todi's service quality?
Feedback on the service: The CBR mechanic at Todi Honda is good though i can't comment if he can handle some serious issues.. So far i faced one problem, the handle felt very tight and he did it rectified in 5 mins..
And regarding water wash, it is pathetic there in Todi Honda.. I do all my cleaning myself..
Those guys there who do water wash refer me to go to a nearby service station where they do water wash for 100rs but i prefer doing it myself...
P.S: Though it is discussed thoroughly earlier, need to mention that it is not advisable to do high pressure water wash on CBR or any vehicle for this matter...Everybody dies.. But, not everybody really live!!

Sarr, I didn't attribute it to the cone set. I asked your take on it. ApologiesOriginally posted by aargee View PostFrom where? Without analyzing from where, its kind of difficult to say. To me, it sounded more like coming from the suspension, though I again need to give this a check in a quiet place. For the records, I hardened the rear spring by one.
While changing the oil and filter, the service guy didn't even open the right cowl. He bent it open and just used a spare screw driver to keep it that way. When I complained, he said this is how its done. I may be wrong, but looking at the cowl it somehow didn't feel right.Originally posted by aargee View PostWhy? Details pls?
To be precise, the only things that he did were:
1. Change the oil and oil filter. (By just partly removing the right side bottom cowl, keeping it in place with a screw driver. As in he did not even open it fully) Cost: INR 344 (20W40) and INR 260 (filter)
2. Clean and lube the chain. Cost: INR 200
Now, should he be doing something else as well in the first service?
I agree. Which is why I didn't insist on the wash when they said they won't be able to do it now.Originally posted by kishoremuthu View PostI have done 2 servicing, first one, only oil change at around 600kms as they didn't have filter available with them and second one both oil and filter change at around 1000kms.. first service cost was around 300 and second one was around 500...

No need to apologize; I was trying to caution you that, not all vehicles are defective, esp with cone set. Talk to ASC, if you aren't sure.Originally posted by dreamseller View PostSarr, I didn't attribute it to the cone set. I asked your take on it. Apologies
That's the way to do it.Originally posted by dreamseller View PostWhile changing the oil and filter, the...didn't feel right.
Perfectly fine.Originally posted by dreamseller View PostChange the oil and oil filter
Was this for K service or before that? If its before that, labour charge for engine oil change is just Rs 35, atleast, that's what they charged me for engine oil + filter change at 550 Kms.Originally posted by dreamseller View Post2. Clean and lube the chain. Cost: INR 200
Yes; check for valve clearance for which you'll have to leave your C250R there for atleast a day. But nothing to worry, if there isn't tappet noise.Originally posted by dreamseller View PostNow, should he be doing something else as well in the first service?Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

My question : 1.5L oil 20W40 just cost Rs.344/- ? Isn't there 2 bottle needed ?Originally posted by dreamseller View Post

What is the cost per bottle ?
As the manual says 1.5L needed after draining and oil filter change.Last edited by Neel08; 08-29-2011, 09:50 PM.
