  • @Kurt: Here's a link to the soft copy of the Owner's Manual

Explore the entire Honda range including small cars, hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs. Fuel efficiency, style and reliability is standard!

Hope this helps. I have the same copy on my phone, so I don't have to carry around the printed version on the rides

        1) Left fairing popped out and dented slightly.
        2) Right fairing has lots of scratches at one end and has to be repainted/replaced.
        3) Headlight has 3 deep scratches.
        4) Either the handlebar is misaligned or the front wheel is.
        5) Front visor seems slightly asymmetrical.
        6) Silencer is scratched.
        7) Service technician thinks that maybe there is damage to front suspension.

My question is, how the hell can all this happen in just one stationary fall, or did someone start with the intent of wrecking havoc on my poor 3 week old bike....

Does anyone have any tips for me to deal with the damage (physical for the bike and mental for me)?

PS: I already talked to Wings Honda in Pune. They said that they haven't received any spares apart from oil and oil filter... Wonder how I'm going to get all this repaired. Also, they are saying that it'll take 5 days to repaint one fairing, so I'll either have to give the bike to them or ride 5 days without the right fairing. This just sucks.
Just dropped off my bike at Wings Honda... Technician rode it and confirmed that entire front section is not in correct position, and handle is misaligned. Final verdict...

        1) I was told that the brackets used to mount the fairings have been damaged and bent. Because of this, the both fairings, front windscreen, and handle are out of alignment. Handle is out of alignment because of damage to steering cone. The left side of the bike has been pulled backward, and the right side has been pulled forward. They'll have to open the entire bike and see what parts have been bent, then call the welder to soften those parts and then get them back to original shape and reassemble everything again. Total time 2+ days (depending on how long the welder takes, and whether the technician has the know-how) and cost around 700-1000 bucks. And on top of this, this is the first case they've got, so they aren't experienced in unbending brackets and whatnot, of the CBR.

        2) Right fairing has to be sent out of Pune to be repainted and will take at least 5-6 days and Rs. 2000+

So all in all, it'll take me at least 3000+ bucks and minimum 7 days to get the bike back. After all this, if it was indeed vandalism, HOW DO I STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN.

Not taking my bike to college is not an option.

This is very sad buddy and this is call "Karna kisi aur ka, Bharna kisi aur ka".
I'll suggest you to Install the Alarm, so if anyone tried to touch the bike it will start crying and will get nearby attention, which might avoid any mischievous activity.

            • Finaly got my darling on 20th August (Saturday). I took it on giving full settlement(cheque).

Tomorrow i am going to register my bike.

I am from chennai. I have already signed some RTO papers(forms) at Honda showroom, and gave my ration card photo copy. They told i have to bring the original ration card at rto for verification.

              My questions are:
              1. Do I require any other documents(except original ration card), that i have to take with me for registration at rto?
              2. Do i have to pay any money to the dealer or to the Rto?
              3. Where and when will i get my insurance and lifetax?
              4. Do i require any other documents other than RC, Insurance and Road tax for my bike to be hassle free from road cops?
              5. If suppose i am going for a fancy number, should i pay the money before looking the series of numbers.?
              6. Is HSNP(High Security Number Plates) are approved/necessary to fix-up in my bike?
              7. If i am fixing-up a normal metal number plate, what should be the dimentions of the number plate(both front and rear)? Font style and size pls?
              8. I am totally confused with lot of questions in my mind like this! Im running out of time, as i have get done everything by tomorrow.

Please, need your valuable suggestions friends... Please help me!!!

                  U solved my worries!!!

1 question, still unclear. I have paid the on-road price of 1.91+ lakhs to my dealer. Why should i give him more for my insurance and road tax. Has that been included in on-road price?

                  • 1.91, I assume is for C250R ABS. Ask the break up for 1.91L from the dealer. Ask them to give you the breakup for insurance, road tax, fee for fancy number & needless to say that should tally 1.91L

PS - You're sure to get a response with regular font size, next time give a try.

                    • @ sunkenpirate

                      Sorry to hear that man,

But there must be a simple way to keep your bike safe at a regular parking lot.

I had to Park my brand new R15 in a Railway parking along with 100s of bikes, All I do is, give extra 10 Bucks to the Token vendor and seek permission to keep the bike in his sight for looking after it.

Even worst, I have even given 5-10 bucks to Flower vendors at the beach to take a look at my bike, so that I can stay peaceful.

So you should be having a security at your college, get to have a good rapport with him and leave the Bike in his supervision, it should take care.

                          • Need advice on wax and polish for my bike

                            Hi All,

                            I am Piyush from Bangalore.
I wrote a long message in reply to "whether C-ABS is good or not" but as i am a newbie (in replying to threads) the session got expired and i had to write everything again.
So this one is the short version.
Dude! (who asked 2 or 3 pages back if C-ABS is good) it is good and will definitely improve your breaking. But remember it is a tool to help you. I have taken a Red ABS on 22nd Aug 2011 and already in love with the bike.
Have noticed the ABS kicking in a few times but personally feel that it is very conservative and engages much before the skid. I have done similar hard breaking on R15/ P150 without any skids so i believe that the ABS kicks in a little early.

Experts! please advise on the washing polishing products i should buy.
Below is the tentative list that i have prepared (based on previous discussions) in this thread.

                            1. ONR-- for washing -- from auto mall
                            2. Collonite -- for keeping the shine intact -- from auto mall
                            3. Micro fibre cloth -- for daily usage to clean dust/ dirt -- from ebay

Do i need to buy something for waxing as well or ONR is sufficient?
Which one is better ONR or Mother wash and shine?

Moderators! Is it possible to start a new thread for washing, waxing and polishing etc? Such a thread would be very helpful for new comers like me.

Also are there genuine honda OEM tankpads available in India?

                            Thanks in Advance.

                            Regards
