The bike doesn't feel any different than on normal petrol. Have tried it with my Pulsar and now with the CBR, zilch difference!

@metal_maniac lets do that. Can we have a Mumbai CBR meet up this Saturday?

    • Need a Mud flap- Ideas invited

      Hi All,

I rode 6Kms after rains and realized why people are so much after mud guard/ flaps. As i had to travel on a road that is eternally under construction (Bellandur road), the mud and slush is inevitable. I tried my best to drive as slow in mud as well as till some distance after i have crossed water to let it drip off, but of no use.
By the time i reached home, my shoes and 1/3 of my pants were generously soaked with slush. After parking i became sad at the look of the underside of the bike as well as the rear seat :O.
One of my team mate was riding behind me and he got sprinkled with muddy water from my CBR,s rear tyre.
I have heard about Sumant's yamaha mud flap but i am a bit reluctant to drill.
Are there any attachment kind of aftermarket products available?
What about fixing a huge mud flap using the exaust pipe?
(Remember old mahindra jeeps used to have those mud guards )
People from bangalore! please advise as you all might be in the same boat.

      Thanks in advance

      Regards
      Piyush

P.S: thanks to folks for answering my question about collinite 845. Ordered one from www.bringingbest.com, New Delhi, India for 895 and got one MF cloth free

      • Regarding the 91 Normal and Premium fuel, I already quoted this a few days back, If I can recall ...

Just a fellow suggestion to my friends! Please dont use the normal fuel! The heat that comes up from the radiator is immense at traffics! After 2000 Kms, I tired Speed and its worth it! No heat! Not at all! Even at jam packed traffic!

Not here supporting premium fuel and stuff! But gotta say this! They seem to be less adulterated than the normal ones!

Especially on C250R which's an international model & not to mention blowing up the warranty!!!
I Agree with u ,, but its not about loud pipes ,,its only about Sounding Decent enough for an international bike ,, Do u think the sound of CBR does justice to the bike

100%; If I expect it to deliver 25 Bhp, good engineering, then it does deliver. Remember, its a single motor not V-Twin or Inline.

What on earth does loud horn do? If people do yield for louder horns, then we should all be using the ones on the train isn't it? BTW, does anyone on the road bother at all for loud horns? Atleast, here in Chennai none care.

So there is Tetra -ethyl lead in aviation gasoline...and hence lead pollution continues..at a higher altitude..

Would you like going back few pages to read earlier posts ? If yes, Metal_Maniac has demonstrated an excellent method for mud flap. You may want to look at that.

Now which RON of Speed are you talking about? There's Speed 91 & 97; Kurt says there's Speed 93.

Xtra Premium, its a regular 91 RON with additives, which, most of us in the forum have unanimous thought of dumping.

                  • The engine roughness has increased for the past 3 days, I noticed this after filling Shell Petrol (generally I use petrol in Indian oil or Bharat petroleum , first time I filled with Shell petrol). Also, pickup is dropped, very well noticeable.

I never crossed 5K RPM until 1400Km, after that I crossed 7K RPM during overtakes. Everyday, I commute 45KM .

Please let me know, if anyone facing the same problem.

                    • Do two things...
                      1. Take to ASC for fairing vibrations to get it sorted
                      2. Do next two full tanks using Speed 97 & only Speed 97 & check if the engine is smooth.

I hope you changed to Honda recommended engine oil from HMSI ASC

I have done first service at Dream Honda (Bangalore), I think they have used 10w30 grade oil. BTW, is there any problem with engine, because pickup also dropped. Feeling like riding 100cc bike.

If you start the engine & put your hands below, the exhaust joint & silencer, you can feel the air hitting your hand. Just wanted to know, if its only for me or for everyone else.

For easy identification, test around the encircled portion on your vehicle.
Caution - Do not touch, but put your hands beneath & feel if you can feel the air gush.

According to what I understand is...for a perfectly tuned engine the final bi-product is water vapor ( water )..along with carbon monoxide etc.

Water vapor accumulation in the tail pipe results in corrosion. So a small hole is provided on the lowest part of the exhaust to assist the drain of the accumulated water vapor. Ensure this hole is not plugged and keep it clean from the muck to avoid premature rusting of the exhaust.

Observe the exhaust of a finely tuned car....you can see water dripping from the tail pipe...In fact this is one visual observation to confirm that the engine is in good health.

I agree with you. I like Pulsar's horn, it's good. CBR's horn just sounds really weak. Today I'll try tuning the horn by adjusting the screw.

To overtake a truck you only need BHP & not loud horns; next time when you overtake, keep honking & don't wrig the throttle, you can feel what I'm talking about
