Neatly done. How has been the response? Isn't the wire mesh clinging on to the radiator fins ? Do you think this will prevent the fins from bending when some dirt particles hit it at high speeds? It will definitely serve the purpose of preventing bends from washing. but the guarding function apart from washing is also a concern .Originally posted by waggied_ceeber View PostDid a DIY radiator guard and i feel easy for first service and not to worry about bent fins
And yes i have taken care of cooling part and if you watch, thats just wire mesh and will not block any air flow at all. After that i took a ride of almost 40 kms which didn't show any increase in temperature and over run of radiator fan to cool it that frequent. Also thats just a mod which am intending to use only while giving it for servicing (to avoid bent fins with pressure wash) and when too rainish drives.

Guys , require some immediate help with respect to cleaning off stains on the bike.
Noticed some stain on the visor today morning, dont know how this happened as i cover the bike. Not at all able to remove this.Any tips on how i could clean this? Tried wiping with ONR and water on both sides of the windscreen.
, still it remains.
I accidentally applied some wax while buffing on one of the side panels. How can i get this off? Can i try to wipe it away with some diesel?
With great Power comes great responsibility

WD40 or Petrol does a good job than Diesel; But, why not leave it there as such or buff up so that the wax protects the side panels from dust?Originally posted by redrage View PostHow can i get this off? Can i try to wipe it away with some diesel?Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

One quick question: What are your respective bikes' fuel efficiency figures? Pardon me for asking this "quintessentially indian"
question, but this figure also does reflect if the engine is working efficiently.
I used to get a 27km/l average, that dropped to 25.04km/l after first service. Of course, that's because the ripping started.

Sarr I don't know if you are making fun of meOriginally posted by aargee View PostWould like to know how to determine this
but last time one my friends got a sudden drop in his fuel average on his R15. Took it to the service station, and the clutch plate had some issues.
Again, I don't have proper technical knowhow to back this, but couple of mechanics told me to keep a track of the fuel efficiency to know if the engine is doing well.
My sincere apologies if I'm wrong. You are not a chemical. So think before you react.

Lil' Red Ridin Hood (Honda CBR250R) | Fuelly
These are my fuel efficiency figures, along with the chart in L/100km. For those who don't use L/100km, to get the mileage in km/l, simply invert the L/100km figure and multiply by 100. eg, 4 L/100km = 25 kmpl.
I regularly get 27 km/l. The one time when I had to go 7 days without the right fairing, I got 25 km/l.
Fuelly.com is a cool site to keep track of fuel expenses, and other related vehicle data (you can also set kilometer or time notifications for vehicle maintenance, other notes, etc)

I just did a 1600km ride from Coimbatore to Berhampur(Orissa), she returned a fantastic mileage of 35kmpl. Through out the route speed never dropped below 90 and generally was riding at about 6000RPM i.e 95kmph mark. Yes I took precautions like no sudden acceleration or hard braking. So for me it is about 30km in a mixed cycle and 35 for highway.Originally posted by dreamseller View PostOne quick question: What are your respective bikes' fuel efficiency figures? Yesterday went to svc for chain lubrication.
Done in 100/-
Completed 2100km in 2months.
So thought to test the potential of bike.
Top speed achieved in past 140kmph in 6th gear.
Today i managed to do 154kmph in 5th gear only at 10.8k RPM, didnt find the good stretch to put 6th gear.Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.
