Psr Ji - I'm not asking ppl to keep quiet; all I was saying is to yell in positive way. If you look at few posts here, people type with "..." & use of mild foul language. I'm not asking to get frustrated, but in positive way. No point venting out here. All of us can empathize & may be the owner can feel a little light on the mind. There's also an excel sheet under someone's signature to collect the list of issues. May be one day, all of us can use the collective force to fight.
Anyway, let's move on with ownership experience.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Ji I am with you in this. unless the problems are put in a proper format with details and Collectively represented with HMSI there will be no end to this.Even now we hear of owners not able to get oil filters....and in many cases the first critical oil change is deferred or done without Oil Filter change...and this could be detrimental to the engine's life span.Originally posted by aargee View PostLol

This is the kind of un prepared indifference which puts many owners in a spot, and their engines at risk. The CBR is manufactured in India and so spares non-availability is purely due to indifferent attitude on HMSI's partOriginally posted by aargee View Post^^^ Sir, oil filter is not available even in US of A Lol!!! ^^^ Did you also notice that some people started getting Thai manufactured oil filters in India. I'm really wondering on one point - Are Indian vendors not able/capable of meeting HMSI's demand (w.r.t oil filter) or if the demand is too high in India

i think they are yet to finalize on an Indian supplier, and so try to get it from Thai which might explain the inordinate delay and shortage.Originally posted by aargee View Post^^^ Did you also notice that some people started getting Thai manufactured oil filters in India. Yes but there were no probs with engine initially, and the switch is to aid in supply and replacement . They had also switched from 4 clutch plates to 5 clutch plates to improve life of clutch , and better pickup without clutch slip.Originally posted by jd666 View Post^^ quality is an issue... yamaha also faced this initially.. Then they modded the R15 to take the FZ's filterWhen Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

The initial batches of R15 were the best produced so far. They were manufactured completely in Thailand&first 2-3 batches were imported as CBUs since they had to keep up with the promised launch dates.
Most of the higher officials in Yamaha say that Thailand has the best production facilities for mass as well as quality production.
When localization started for the R15, quality did take a slight hit as mentioned by JD.
Now the new R15s are completely produced here&they are coming with FZ clutch plates.
In case of the CBR however, it looks like it is the reverse-initial lots have reported some quality issues whereas the quality is steadily improving!Quench my thirst with gasoline!

So now you will have unending supply of filters for CBR,since you have the local source.Originally posted by aargee View PostNo no!!! I know very well, the oil filters ARE manufactured in India & to precise Periyapalayam in Chennai. The current filter on my C250R is made in Periyapalayam

What I'm trying to say is, we USED to get locally made ones, but recently ppl started getting Thai makes.
JD & PSR Ji - I agere with Sarvajit here; C250R's case seems to be reversed compared to R15.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

as long as the problems are taken care of, and past owner's issues solved permanently, the CBR may just be the tourer a Tourer will be happy with.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostThe initial batches of R15 were the best produced so far. Yup, the first batch of bikes were the best. ( mine is from one of them, much more refined in comparision to the current set ).
Im not sure whats gone wrong with Honda here. Sure it will be cheaper here than thailand, but by margins. They need to maintain their quality.
This after i recently saw a CBZ that had done 2,00,000 + kms, after only one top overhaul ( only one oversize )
