6000 kms on the card, very low temp on the highways, limited time

ended up with 5868 kms, 100 hrs ride, 10 hrs of sleep, two meals, 6 rite energy bars, 2 Gatorade drinks, one red bull can, 4 cups of coffee etc

1st leg-> Delhi-Bhubaneswar- Started at around 1735 hrs, 1st hour could only cover 22 kms and 2nd hour only 63 kms and then everything was normal, was wearing no gloves, every 40-50 kms visor had to be cleaned, in kanpur took a wrong turn and entered Lucknow highway, realized after 6 kms and came back and joined the NH 2, on the way also realized mild fever and weakness but didn't pay much attention to it as i knew i had to continue and do it, after i touched Varanasi the acceleration of the bike got reduced drastically, i thought there was something wrong and had to slow down a little and continue that way till Bhubaneswar, reached at 2000 hrs there and straight way headed to the service station, thanks to one of my friend rinku and the service station guys, they offered me maaza, water and snacks, stayed there up to 2200 and then returned leaving the bike there with them along with my friend, had rice chicken meal and went to bed at around 2230 hrs.

    total kms covered-1883 kms
    time taken- 26 hrs
rest- only fuel stops and photo stops

2nd leg-> Bhubaneswar-Pune- woke up at 0500 hrs, got fresh, weakness was still there with increased fever, could actually feel it, still took bath, ready the things and left the place at around 0600 hrs, searched for 91 Oct fuel near by along with card acceptance but failed, finally at one pump there was both speed and card accepting machine, tanked up to the head there, ate one apple and one energy bar, took one paracetamol, prayed god and left, i was on the road by 0640 hrs, in next 115 minutes i covered 172 kms and was happy about considering traffic, village people intrusion and cattle attack, then took a halt called up mom and said her about the fever, now it was very high and i was actually feeling real weakness, even gave a second thought about going back to Bhubaneswar, taking there for few days and then starting again freshly from there but no, heart and mind both didn't allow and i felt like a battle, said my self that yes i have to do it, may be the last chance for me, so got ready, had one more energy bar, had glucose with water, prayed god and started, because of last night's servicing i could feel a little difference but it was not that fine, gave a second thought and tried maintaining 110-120 kph but was not satisfied, soon reached vishakhapatnam and this time there was something new on the cards, entered the city unknowingly in search of petrol pump which has 91 Oct fuel and accepts card, this wasted another 25 minutes or so and finally after i got one and filled i found that i was inside the city and took help of the gps to get on the NH 5 and withing next 15 minutes i was there, now the long and tiring wait to reach Vijayawada started, it felt like few thousand kms away, bike was running little fine and smooth, everything was fine and smooth and then from some where a karizma with two stupids on board and a maroon merc came on the road, i never understand why they want to race on the road with something which is way ahead of your reach(karizma) and which is way under powered than you(merc e class), still that stupid battle was on and finally though of showing them what i am up to and then after few minutes karizma was not in sight and the merc got stuck in the traffic but then this irritant, tank range of our cbr, its very less and had to take a stop, dont know where, tanked up, checked air pressure and moved on, weakness was still there and i could feel little shivering inside me, had to forget all these and move ahead, after few hours Vijayawada came, this time no checking was going one, thanks to god and could maintain good speed withing the city, stopped at a point and got the needed photos, went ahead then, tanked up somewhere in between and then continued up to Chennai, after reaching Chennai i was struck at a point and had to decide, whether to follow NH 5 or take the poonamavale exit, as suggested by limca book officials followed the NH 5 till it touched NH 4 and then stopped to take photos and call my parents and to add all little fatigue, fever and weakness it started raining but really a lot of thanks to god, it rained just for few seconds, i was happy that the major problem went away, also just after i started from Chennai i realized that the fever is getting high and i may need to rest somewhere near, thinking all the odd and even back in my mind i started riding further and to my luck after few kms(dont know exactly how much) i found a brew coffee store and thanked god for it, last time i missed it somehow, so went to that point, parked my bike there and ordered one hot coffee, whatever it may be as for me these things are like alien world, was calculating everything and in the mean time the coffee arrived, sat at one corner on a sofa and started sipping it, oh man, i was so much relieved, and just after taking the first sip i ordered for another coffee of the same kind, now it was like heaven for me, really the tiredness was getting away and i started feeling fresh.the whole break over there was of around 30-45 minutes, payed the bill, thanked them and taking god's name i started again for the rest of the journey, less than 3000 kms were left for the journey to be completed, soon Bangalore came and again i was confused whether to nice road exit or NH 4 which goes through inside the city, took approx 45 minutes to cross Bangalore and then i was so happy to see open tarmac, good speed and average were the only two things which came to my mind, suddenly i realized there is something wrong on the top of the tank bag and to my horror i realized that the gps was switched of, though the charging light was on but the gps was off, parked the bike somewhere on the side and tried switching on the thing but to my surprise it was not working, nor it getting switched on, i thought cant be the issue of charger as the gps is showing charging(red light), called up my parents and they were shocked too, the major loos was the track recording which it has done and further i will be wasting time to get signature d and photos as it wont be working any more, already i wasted 2 hours 10 minutes in Bhubaneswar and my target of 96 hours was fading away like a dream, was really disheartened to feel myself in this situation, at last i knew nothing could be done and so taking god's name i stared for the rest of the ride.
after few kms(again dont know how much) i thought of something, may be the charger is faulty, so stopped at the road side and changed the charger, oh god, it started working and i was so happy to see it, called up home and told them not to worry more as everything was fine, a new ray of hope gave me a lot of energy and happily once again i started for the ride, i was supposed to take rest at hubli but something else was again on the card, roads after that point were fine though there were some diversions, i was able to maintain good average speed and soon the kilometers were covered pretty fast. i was able to maintain average of approx 95-100 kph, though it was for few hours only, slowly slowly kms were covered and soon hubli came, i was supposed to rest there but as i was feeling fine i decided to go ahead, at least up to Pune, a mini bun burner ride in between it was going to become, kolhapur came on the way and had to stop for photos, a 10-15 minutes break and started for Pune, now i was really feeling weal and those last kms up to Pune were little tough to cover as traffic was getting heavy and so was the fatigue, somehow i managed up to Pune and great thanks to Kartik as he was waiting for me near the pashan exit, never met him before that time and was really trusting him, his help was the most imp help through out the ride and it turned out really great, entered his house, his parents were there and offered me home made iddli and rasham and after feeding on them i went to bed to take a good sleep, it s around 1830 hrs when i slept and around 2230 hrs i woke up and got ready for the ride, it was really so sweet of kartik to help me during that time which was a much needed kind of and even he offered me a cup of coffee, after everything over i went to the bike, loaded up everything and started for the next close to 1580 kms.

    total kms covered- 2403 kms
    time taken- 35 hrs
rest- one rest of 40-45 minutes at brew coffee house before Bangalore

3rd leg-> the ride from Pune to Mumbai and crossing Mumbai was little odd, traffic was not that high but while moving ahead on NH 4 after touching Mumbai there was a loooong traffic of trucks which restricted the average speed to 15-20 kph, was really worried about this as it was affecting the overall average and my target or 96 hrs was fading away, soon i got an ATM, stopped there, took out cash and took photos and prayed god for me and my bike and started for the rest kms, after entering Gujarat the speed increased, the roads are so awesome that i cant even explain here, 120-130 kph was easily maintainable keeping in mind that the acceleration was very low now, the night passed out easily and even got one petrol pump on the way which accepted card but no premium fuel, soon came the karzan/karzan toll booth and there one dhaba just before it, sipped two cup of coffee there and then moved ahead, crossing Ahmadabad was little tricky but proper this time, tanked up at Ahmadabad and even had to fight for space on the road after this, the roads after Ahmadabad are not that good in operation, at many places there is no divider which puts you in hell lot of problems, the next time i saw the map i was at himmat nagar turn and took it for the road ahead to Delhi, story after this is simple, i tanked up and moved, again tanked up and moved, everything was fine, fever was also not that high and fatigue was nil, soon came up udaipur and there something again happened, the chain was no longer responsive and was totally loose, got a good mechanic near by and he did everything possible and again just after few kilometers the chain was loose, i remembered what kartik and aargee discussed when i was sleeping at kartik's place, the chain was no more perfect and needed replacement, suddenly i was no more feeling fever or anything and the only thing going in my ind was the chain, chain and chain, called up the service center guys of Delhi and they assured that the rest approx 600 kms can be covered up by the same and nothing wrong would happen, trusting there words and seeking god's blessing i moved ahead and soon found me near Jaipur, there the gps again played with me and showed 3 ways marked as NH 8, one going to Delhi, one going through Jaipur city and one bypassing it from left, had to think a little and then moved on the left one marking Delhi some 274 kms, it was 1730 hrs then and 96 hrs just ended there, my target was there and i was running late by 3/4 hours depending up on the Jaipur Delhi stretch, last time i got to cover this stretch in whole night so traffic was less but roads were real bad and now i was fearing for the traffic and yes it was soooooooo heavy and the road conditions were even more pathetic, even there were 4 to 5 times when the whole road was invisible and i would be riding at 100+kph and without knowing whats up ahead and who at back i had to stop, this was really getting heavy for me, eyes were burning with sand and every other possible dirt inside and even cleaning the visor sounded useless and just after few kms it would once again dirty, crossing all these things and after around 3 hrs some minutes i could see Delhi and was filled with joy, though i was sad for not being able to make it under 96 hrs but still i had hope that i can make it under 100 hrs, now one funny thing happened, one CD dawn rider, dont know from where started matching my speed, i thought he might be getting late for something so gave space 2 3 times but then saw he was actually competing with me, i am never bothered about these things but when ride i concerned like this, i dont give up, i didn't compete with him but tried my best to lessen the time as much as possible and finally at 2135 hrs i touched the same petrol pump from where i started and exactly at 2140 hrs i took the photos and got the paper stamped and signed by gazetted officer. finally it was over, i did it.
i broke the record, though i want to become a successful endurance rider this was the beginning, i am on it, i am on the verge of becoming one

    few photos here

sorry friends that's 100 hrs not 110 hrs

got the chain checked and new filter and everything all set.. never could touch 150.

        alien

        i was planning system G.

              .

No adjustments needed whatsoever p220 bybre rear pads are a direct fit on cbr250r non abs(std) rear. they look and are exactly of same dimension except for wear indicators on genuine is absent on pulsar pads. A word of caution though, there has been mixed results with pulsar pads.. some say its the same but To me it's not as good as genuine Honda's.

Usually, bikes dont need to undergo injector cleaning. And considering the bike is just a year or two old, its way to early to experiment. Plus it serves no benefit unless uve logged about 60k kms or so. For the 600RRs and the 1000RRs Honda recommends change of injector instead of injector cleaning. Do we have anything mentioned about injector cleaning in the manual? I dont remember anything so i might aswell stay safe than screw up my injector which isnt quite necessary as of this stage

I researched on net while I bought the bike and stp seems like a good brand to use as injector cleaners. V will have to buy the type of cleaner v add along with fuel every few Kms and not the one used to spray directly at an injector. I enquired at ASC and they had no idea what I was talking about :d . I also read online in some forums where they claim that these cleaners r no use or of little use.v won't know until v use it. And scared to use it cos I was asked not to use xtrapremium , speed, shell super by the head service manager while I was delivered my bike cos of harmful fuel additives in them. so eventually this turned me away from using injector cleaners :/ will have to mail HMSI and c what they say about it.

i agree with the machines being new. also no where mentioned in the manual about the injector.
but if if see logically for santro's and accent's.. the rough cylinder size comes down to a 250 itself or lets say a 300
also they run on same fuel and need a injector cleaning every 5-7k for crisp throttle response.
so my idea was based on the same stuff that if the same technology is used in cars etc etc and needs maintanence
why not in the motorcycle's by the end of the day we use the same adulterated fuel for these motorcycles too..
the fine nozzle is bound to get choked or else we might not get the linear throttle response which would defy the
whole purpose of using a FI powered machine..

i was planning for system G. its from iftec have used it and found it to be good..

and thanks for the brake pad info. will give p220 pad a try for the next 6k km.
for now changed both the pads however i will need new one in next 60 days.
got galfer's for front already. will try the 220 rear..

                        • Hello,
I had pressure washed my bike yesterday, took her on a short 10km ride to let her dry. However, when i tried to start the bike today, the PGM-FI light which normally lights up after the engine switch is set to on position did not come up. I tried to follow the steps in the "Flooded engine" ( opening throttle fully and pressing start for 5 seconds) around a couple of times, but did not start. However, it started the third time i followed the steps. Do i need to worry about anything?
                          Thanks

I tried to follow the steps in the "Flooded engine" ( opening throttle fully and pressing start for 5 seconds) around a couple of times, but did not start. However, it started the third time i followed the steps. Do i need to worry about anything?
                            Thanks
it happened with few other members as well.. might be moisture or loose connection. however even if its working now still get it checked ones.
                            wont do any harm.

I agree with you.. the times when I do mostly 90+ kmph.. I have got better mileage then driving between 50- 70 kmph...
But I only got a difference of 5- 7 kmpl...
Even then ... this is nuts... :-)
