I cant remember how it was before, but i somehow feel my bike mustve been dropped somewhere(most likely at the ASC) because my clutch lever is a bit too low compared to the brake lever height.

Also, I verified the same with a colleague at office, his CBR also has the same setting.

The height of both levers is same, but the clutch lever is farther from the handlebar w.r.t the brake lever.
I have seen this in a couple of ZMAs, ZMRs and a CBR. Shall have to see more keenly now.

I assume the TS was talking about this unequal distance between both levers.
No i was referring to the height of the clutch lever. Mine's uneven. The Clutch lever seems wayy too lower than the brake lever height. The only reason i didnt find it odd is because my hands are huge so i can still access the clutch lever with ease.

Anybody tried sprocketing to ride in relatively higher gears in lower specs? I understand d consequences, will have to sacrifice top speed , then again 150speed is not a everyday chore. I don't want to keep my clutch half depressed most of the time.

        • Bike couldn't start - Beware

Just wanted to share an incident about my CBR 250R ABS (2.5 months old)..

So, I rode my bike last Thursday and parked in the parking. Had shown it to a couple of friends who had come over for on Sunday - started the bike then and showed off a bit
Then today morning, I am all kitted up for work commute - switch on the ignition, the bike does the self-check, I hear the fuel pump, press the starter button, but the engine just won't fire - no sound from starter at all - it's dead but everything else electrical is working.. All those stories I had read on forum about low-quality parts, bad reliability and other issues people had posted start coming to mind - is the fuel pump dead, is the fuse blown, is the ignition key set gone kaput, did one of the friend start the engine too soon without following proper procedure... ???? I repeat the procedure a few times - switch off ignition and engine kill switch - switch them back on, still no sound from starter... Finally I give up with a heavy mood and go back to home to search on net and wait for the service-station to call up the mechanic for a house-call..

While going through the net, suddenly something hit me, and I rush back to the bike for one last try/trouble-shooting - this time it starts without a problem. Turns out, while showing the bike to friends, one of them was fiddling with the gear lever and the bike had gone in 1st gear. And therefore, when I was pressing the starter (without depressing the clutch-lever), the sensors had cut off the ignition circuit for safety - coming form a sensor-less non-smart bike (Classic CBZ), it didn't earlier occur to me that this could have been an issue.. . I shifted back to Neutral and all was well with the world . Incidentally, I have gone through the Owner's Manual but don't remember reading anything about it explicitly - if someone remembers seeing it, please point to the page..

Learning from the whole thing - don't let the information in the forum prejudice your view of the bike

              • I've just booked my CBR 250 R ABS. The salesperson told me that I'll have to wait for 2 months before I could get it. So I'll be getting the bike by mid-January

That's why I always check the gears before I start the engine

As I pointed out earlier, CBR250 has its power way low in the RPM range making it easy to handle city traffic aas well as cruise comforttably in highways. Whereas 150 is a high revving machine made for track use, so you will have to frequently shift gears in traffic. Also after some time, you will crave for more power so better go in for the elder sibling. Go ffor a test ride and you will find the difference.

                        • My wife and I had traveled to Kerala over the long weekend. Round trip distance was 910 KM. The CBR is a brilliant touring machine. Both of us were quite comfortable except for the last 50-100 KM of each leg (which can be expected).

Yeah...saw these long back. The repsol color looks awesome. Planning to get my bike Repsoled when they arrive and I get bored of the tri-color of my bike.

Great mod buddy..That shark sticker on the side fairing looks great. Also I guess I noticed crash bobbins on your bbike. Do you think they are worthy. Also you have put your number plate on the visor. The cops don't bother you for the same ? I think hats not legal. Need to have number plate upfront.
