The oil they used is the Throttle 10W30 FS one. 1.5 litres would be around 760/- if you do the maths.Originally posted by aman15 View PostSo the conclusion is ???
You could also ask them to let you have the second bottle they used just to be sure and store it for further refills.sigpic

@theironhorse: my bike had shim issue factory shipped..
and there have been many more cases.. dont delay. Get it done from them asap as later, they will charge you for it and may harm your engine at high speeds (incase you get tempted)
@Aman: Bro, the oil used is perfect and the charge too.. No worries. There was a news from guys that Honda recommends and factory ships CBRs with Honda throttle 10w30 FS. So thats fine.
The cost of my 2nd service was around Rs.2700 and 3rd was Rs. 2600 with no major components changed. Oil, oil filter, one brake pad each time. (i get the rear changed from outside with p220 rear pads). Once it had cost of shims and next time, it was coolant. Just that. Now after the free services, it would be Rs.750 for each paid service. Which would again add to it. And even my chain sprocket kits are about to be replaced.
I am not cribbing for the cost but for the quality of service after all this..Last edited by MeTaL_MaNiaC; 06-06-2012, 08:23 PM.You gotta risk it.. to get da biscuit !!!

Shims are not covered under warranty as they are subject to wear n tear. But if the problem is from the beginning, you would get it done for free. In my case, i had complained about it in the first week itself. But due to shortage of shims, it was done in 2nd service which was 6months later and they said it will be charged. I dint want to argue for Rs330 and the manager said, 'Sir, you bought a bike worth 1.7L, i am sure you wont think much for 300 bucks' which pissed me off more. I was happy that my bike felt better and left.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postwell the 1st few services are free and that too under waranty.. why would they charge you for the shims ????
@Aman: welcome bro.

My bike also had shims problem right from the time I purchased it. But nothing to worry, cause I got it changed under warranty. Usually for any warranty work, SVC has to shoot a mail to HMSI. But the SVC, try to make us pay for the same so that they don't have to take any trouble of taking snaps & mailing them across to HMSI.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postwell the 1st few services are free and that too under waranty.. why would they charge you for the shims ????

Also, my shims were replaced at approximately 14k kms, and it was done under warranty!
Since it will be a warranty claim, please do get it done at the service centre associated with the showroom from where you bought your bike.Originally posted by abhinavcrytek View PostI want to get my shims replaced under warrant as the problem has been right from the day of purchase . Cool..Originally posted by chicmagnet View PostThe route he took was Mumbai - Surat - Vadodara - Godhra - Shamlaji - Udaipur - Shivpuri - Jhansi and back.

when i did it @ Vihaan, they showed me a honda book which mentioned that shims are subject to wear and so are not covered under warranty. Though i wasnt charged any labour cost, it was just the charge of Shims. Its not a uniform practice i guess.. By the way, the mechanic there even told me that the shims from your bike may be used on other bike if the value required matches and so should not be charged, but as per Honda, they will have to.
