Straighten the bike for few seconds & check; that's better reliable on the Fuel guage.

Btw has anyone found out the approx fuel for the last bar on the gauge?
Because last night i went to fill her up, she had her last bar blinking for a few seconds and then it stopped blinking. I assumed there was about less than 2 litres in reserve so i thought id fill in 10litres just to be on the safe side. But just under the 9litre mark the tank was full so the last bar pretty much meant there was around 4 litres in reserve but then it shouldnt have been blinking either.
      Stupid annoying fuel gauge.
Same with me today while riding from ASC to petrol pump which was around 15kms .. At First my bike showed blinking of last bar for around 2mins and then it didnt.. But the tank was full within 8.3ltrs only...
      I respect the threat.

        • ^^^ That 0.57 logic is not right; see post #8100 where we observed & noted down real time statistics. Check that with your CBR's also, it should be more or less the same.

          • I don't know how many people are aware of the way the fuel gauge measures fuel, but I would like to highlight that the digital fuel gauge on any bike only shows the level of fuel, not liters of fuel available in the tank. the display bars show the level of the floatation device inside the tank, and since the tank is never a uniform shaped volume from top to bottom its impossible to check the real time volume of liquid inside.

This it is necessary to understand that if you have 3 out of 6 bars showing on ta fuel gauge of a tank of 12 liters it does not mean you have 6 liters left. But it does mean that the level of fuel is now halfway at the depth of the tank. Which may or may not be 6 liter depending upon the shape of the tank.

So the thumb rule is, 3 out of 6 bars show fuel tank is half full. It does not how how many liters because the fuel tank is wider from top than bottom (usually).
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

No. It kept blinking on a levelled highway. I did pull over and balance the bike on both my feet to see if it was the angle of lean making the difference and it still kept blinking for 2 minutes. Then when i set out again it stopped blinking. The road was levelled though. No slope no unevenness.
. The tank had about 4 litres in reserve.
Anyway its not a major concern.

                Very strongly agreed!!!

101% agreed as I'd experienced filling mostly around 5 litres when 3 bars show up.

Quite unfortunate...that's how CBR's fuel guage works

                • Whenever you start the bike after a while, the fuel indicator will always show less amount of fuel. Ride the bike for a couple of minutes or say approx 500meters, the fuel gauge automatically shows the actual amount of fuel left. That is how I do it and it works well.

Yesterday I visited Vihaan Honda SVC, Thane to lodge my complaint with the concerned mechanic who attended my bike during its first service last week. I pointed out those 3 points to him and he was humble enough to give an ear to them.

Lastly, sorry for this huge post but I hope my experience helps others to solve their problems and someway HMSI learns a tough lesson
Me too had given my bike for servicing to Vihaan Honda (Same service centre as Rony, clarifying since they have two service centres).
Problems resolved: Vibrations (still have a few but much lower than before), coneset setting, handle bar setting (took it slighty forward which has reduced some shoulder pain), more power or rather power you would expect from the CBR is finally there and the engine feels smoother as well.

New problems that have come up - Horn not working..funnily enough I took the test ride and had asked em to fix the horn which wasn't sounding as loud as it usually is and they did but in the night while coming home, the volume not only dropped it felt like there is a loose connection somewhere. Pretty much similar issue to what Rony is faced! In 17k kms, haven't had this issue so I wonder what Vihaan is doing to the horns :S

There is also a crack on my speedo glass but I think that came later when I parked my bike outside my office

no if you will ride in proper gear then it fine or if earlier you were using 150cc bike then you have to get used to it.
but if you ride at high gear in low rpm then every bike will start knocking.

                        • hello to all.
there is a patch in center of my cbr's rear tyre. which i feel like should'nt have happened.have driven 5200kms in 5months. i contacted service centre guys in which reply they provided me number of some other guy which is so called tyre specialist for honda in delhi. but i am trying his number from last three days but his number is constantly off. what should i do? i tried to check continental showroom but nothing found.

and can you please tell/suggest place for seat cover. i tried karol bagh but did'nt get any quality seat covers till now.

Your ASC is RESPONSIBLE for getting your tire replaced & they HAVE to do it. Like I always keep saying "Talk to service manager"!!!

Find out if they charge anything additional for getting this done; usually this is done at free of cost at their convenience or they charge some Rs 50 or Rs 100. Srivaastav - would you like to comment anything here pls?
