My bad bro...actually rs 179 was after the coolant top up + cost of slider....the cost of slider without vat is 115...you remember all thingsOriginally posted by aargee View PostDoc, slider here costs Rs 125, even with 14.5% VAT its hardly Rs 144; BTW, I remember your challenge posted sometime back here stating spares prices were damn cheaper at your ASC
Regarding K&N, I'd suggest - STAY AWAY; reason stated in post #8200
Edit - See one more menace of it, one real time experience - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/813560-post.html. Should be really Thankful to ROCKRZ for sharing this incident, though its on a different rmotorcycle.

It is not the projector that drain batteries, its what wattage projector you are putting. FYI most of the projectors available are of 35 watt hence will actually require less power than stock H4 lamp !

The CBR comes with 6 AH Battery while the Pulsar has 9 AH...that said the generator in both bikes are good enough to support 10% increase in load modifications,continuously..Originally posted by [email protected] View Post@prateek2210 & aargee

Yes you can fit in a 9 AH battery...but what about warranty terms...if you are still under warranty then wait, otherwise go for Amaron 9 AH which is supposed to be good..Go for Sealed MF battery since in CBR the battery is under the seat and mounted at an angle ....we don't want Wet acid type which will spill and corrode chassis and other parts....You may have to do a little adjustment to the mounting to accommodate the bigger battery.Originally posted by [email protected] View Post@ PSR
Sir can i then get myself a 9ah battery or will it create a problem
I vaguely remember a CBR owner doing this ,and posting a picture here some time back....
Here it is see post 3374

Stock headlamp setup of CBR is awesome and i really dont see any reason why people going for Projectors and HID's
..? no offence to any one but if you ride 80% inside city then just get while bulb
.
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

yes for city ride the stock setup is adequate...a white beam is poor in penetration in mist and rain and so should be avoided, for safety.Originally posted by abhiwar View PostStock headlamp setup of CBR is awesome and i really dont see any reason why people going for Projectors and HID's

I know its OFF TOPIC but still am asking this . I've observed that now many manufacturers giving white light (projectors) as standerd fitment in SBK and also in some cars its the same . If whilt beam is poor in rain and fog then why we are getting white light as standerd fitment..?Originally posted by psr View Postyes for city ride the stock setup is adequate...a white beam is poor in penetration in mist and rain and so should be avoided, for safety. Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

Anyway, let me shed my 2 cents of experience on the headlight...
I fully agree that the stock headlamp is brilliant on CBR 250R, especially the low beam is brilliant. But the high beam is quite pathetic (or seems to be) for the very reason the throw is at a distance that the objects are distances are visible & ideally I'd expect the a throw that is lighted right from the bike towards the long distance, like a kind of line or something.
To overcome this, what I usually do is, keep riding at low beam & use the PASSING switch to light up which does the job near perfect. But that doesn't light up so bright when there're oncoming heavy vehicles or has higher wattage lamps. In any case, lighting up 60/55 (low & high beams) will do the job perfectly.
Regarding PSR Ji's point on white light, let me share few days of my experience using Philips extreme 60/55 on CBR.
This bulb costs near to Rs 500 a piece & outputs near to white light with a minute tinge of yellow. When I'd this, the high beam was awesome, just what I'd wished in above para & the flip side being low beam was total pathetic. During rains, forget the road being lighted up even with such an awesome high beam.
Finally I switched back to stock & during this process, I found a remarkable truth that the OE bulb has a very minor tilt compared to the Philips Xtreme & no wonder the high beam & low beams are so contradictory in between them.
An ideal combination would be a twin headlamp setup with Xtreme on one side for high beam & the stock on other side with low beam. Trust me, with this setup, one CANNOT go wrong. But the only question remains, how does the reflector support this and even if it did, wouldn't both the lights use the same reflector from different positions from the stock & what's the guarantee that we get the expected output?
PS - If any of you think the Philips extreme is expensive, the stock CBR 250R bulb costs a whooping Rs 725 + 14.5% tax for a single piece; may be for one & only reason "Made in Japan"; OE supplier...unknown!!!Last edited by aargee; 05-15-2012, 12:23 PM.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

.. IMHO 725 is too much.. In total which one did you find better for city riding??

Vasant - Sry, couldn't see the pic for some reason
Don't think so; I think its possible to reach out the headlamp through the fairing, but is a little tricky though.Originally posted by Mail2vasant View PostDo we have to remove headlight assembly or part of fairing etc to change the bulb
May be, but there's no other 250cc in this category that offers are better priceOriginally posted by Mail2vasant View PostIMHO 725 is too much..

i am not complaining...the pic i hv attacked
I'm more concerned about the warranty than the mod; that's why I don't advocate any mods until the warranty is over. Just think about a short circuit, ofcourse, the fuse blows up, but just incase, if the fuse doesn't & the ECM blows up, you had it!!! It costs like hell & will never be covered under warranty & you'll land up cursing yourself. Even if you'd the money to buy a new one, trust me, Honda would take months to ship the spare for the very reason its not under warranty & its not a spare that blows off just like that. For eg, I've been waiting to get my plastic shield that turned grey for over several months, but my engine was replaced under warranty & the bike returned to me in almost a week's time.

small red part which connects to tank .
and lots of scratches to main red fairing.
i could nt take the photos ,, but will upload them tomorrow
