I knocked off yesterday after typing the following...Originally posted by drarchit View Postdoes anybody here has a...handle tight
- Check the front tire, I still don't believe Conti though I went for it again
- If that doesn't resolve, then grease the cone set & while doing so, check for dots or faulty one
- Last but not the least, do a wheel balancing; its extremely difficult, but still, there's scope for testing there
That said, I've no issue reported eitherSkill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Tyre swap with 150
I had mentioned some posts ago about the idea of swapping the tyres of the 250 for the ones of the 150.
Yesterday, I visited Punjab Honda here in Rajkot and met Mr Tarak Joshi, one of the reps of the showroom. He helped me a lot by projecting an immensely cooperative attitude.
I checked the critical figures - rim sizes of the 150. They are as follow, in a comparo with the 250:
150 250
Front 2.5 X 17 2.75 X 17
Rear 3.5 X 17 4.00 X 17
In my opinion, the quarter inch difference in the front rim may not be a serious impediment to a swap. But the 1/2 inch one in the rear is quite obvious and may not result in a safe swap.
Sadly, it is back to the Internet for a search for tyres once more. How I wish MRF made tyres for the 250 too. Then, I would ride in rain as well as shine and not be terrified of the vile grip of the stock Continentals. I have had two really bad scares last monsoon and they were enough to make me park the bike very firmly during the rains.
Regards,
Maneesh
PS. Sorry, online formatting is a real pain.

I'm not sure if you read the post #8200; MRF DOES make 140/70R17 (ZapperQ) for CBR 250R & the tread pattern suits more for wet grip than dry weather.Originally posted by icemang View PostHow I wish MRF made tyres for the 250 too

Footpeg vibration
Finally got a bit time in middle of the exams so i have given my bike to my wings honda(again lets see how many scratches they will make this time) for the Footpeg Vibration .. These are the respective things i told them to check
1. Foot peg vibration
2. Shim Valve check
3.Chain thight check
4. Brakes check
5.painting( because many scratches on fiber )
6.coating
7.chain lubing
Estimated bill Rs-3000/- (if valve needed to be replaced) and they quoted shim valve 300 each..
Bike gone for 3 to 4 days (hope it is gone for good )I respect the threat.

Can you explain the above pls?Originally posted by aman15 View Post5.painting( because many scratches on fiber )
6.coating
You might also want to include the following...
Check radiator coolant level & top up if required
Check cooling system for any leakages
Check free rotation of wheels
Inspect the steering for smooth movement
Check for any issues with Cam Chain Tensioner (since they're opening the head for SHIM's anyway)
Check for chain sprocket EVEN PLAY
Inspect & recharge battery if necessary
Don't know what's on your ODO, if the interval you're following is 6K, then replace air filterSkill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

@aagree:
I have given my bike mainly for footpeg vibration not for 2nd service ( since 3.1k only on odo ). And paint job because many scratches on fiber and also he told me the bike will appear to be new so i told make it happen (600 for that but not sure it is actually that much ).. And he told me they will inspect everything regarding chain ...I respect the threat.

OkOriginally posted by aman15 View Post@aagree:

Regarding vibrations, the important culprits that I learned are in the order of Chain slack, SHIMs, Cam & fairing/console rattle. So ask them to open up the engine ONLY if necessary as most of these jokers don't tighten up the engine per the torque mentioned in the service manual (most jokers don't even open the service manual, as if they're the lord of the creation)
Point is, most problems are created by ASC themselves that weren't there in the first place
No, really I don't know any good guys at PuneOriginally posted by aman15 View Postand i hope issue gets...good dealer near pune

Dear aargee,
Thank you very much for the info and the link. Now, I have to hunt for a suitable 110/70 for the front.

For front Pirelli could be a good option. 110/70 - 17 - Same size as stock albeit a bit more rounded profile. Another option is the Zapper on the KTM which is also 110/70.Originally posted by icemang View PostDear aargee,

Someone on Xbhp uses Zapper Q in the rear (140/70) and has a good impression of the same. Similar experiences with the Dunlop Tuff Grip for the rear.
