    • Key insertion problem

I am finding it very difficult to insert key in the lock, it was not like this in the beginning but now it is becoming very difficult to lock and unlock the bike. Once key is inserted it is quite difficult to remove it also

Any one facing the same issue?
Should i apply the lubricant myself or show this to SVC guys.(I do not feel this could be due to lack of lubrication)

My bike has clocked 1600 on odo
Washed it about 3-4 times (without pressurized water jet)

          Congrats!! Happy Leh-ing! Waise I'm guessing you've gone through Aargee's posts ( #7500, #7600 and #8200 I reckon). They're really helpful.

There are vibrations when it's new but as said before, it's not hand numbing. Get it checked if the handelbar has been tightened to the specified torque.

P.S. Just a word of caution, DO NOT lug the engine. 3.8k in higher gears is too less IMO.

Crankcase breather, should be cleaned of any waste during service. Every bike has it.

Please use the lock with caution. Use WD40, and things should be alright. Saying this because the whole lock set costs INR 10,800 to replace and you'd not want that.

          • how comfortable is CBR??

            Friends,

Test ride doesn't explain how comfotable the bike would be after 50kms long continuos ride??

So, My question are any CBR owners who ride thier beast more than 40kms at a strech daily ??

Do they feel any uncomfortable in riding it daily ??

twice or thrice a week drive that too a long one is different case, but what about 5 days a week regularly ??

I have booked CL 500 but it has a great waiting perios 4-6 months .

So i am thinking for CBR as people say it's a tourer !!

If CBR is comfortable in sitting than i can opt for this.

I am a happy R15 owner . I like the performance, technology, power, everything of this bike. But daily ride of 40 kms 20-20 is really pain .

            Please suggest. Thanks in advance!!!

            Keeping changin Gears !!

              • CBR falls somewhere between a Bull n R15 a far as comfort on long rides are concerned. I, myself ride a CBR and used it for touring extensively, it is perfectly alright as a tourer.
However one needs to get used to a different seating posture which is absolutely unlike a bull , but at the same time it is perfectly useable over for the daily distances you are mentioning.

                  • Thanks for the info everyone.

Right now - keeping the bike at around 4.5 k rpm.

New issue - In Gurgaon - traffic jam stop go traffic - 42 degrees - My bike temp gauge hit 5 bars briefly and then settled in at 4 bars.
On the highway - it was back to 3 bars.

                    Should i be worried

friend that doesn't answer my question at all

Post 7500 simply explains the difference between a N250 or R15.
But i question is over CBR only and it's comfort.

People ride R15 also from years daily over 60kms, they are happy but ideally it's not for 50+kms.

Waiting period is kiling for RE, which i am not able to surpass. So planning for a CBR. cost is almost same and can enjoy it too with more power.

I though ti might get some positive response which my heart wants to hear. But it's not true. RE is RE!

So i have to wait Dude!!

Huh this killer waiting period really kills!!

Everyone do enjoy CBR ride and ride it safe !!!

                      Keep changing gears.

Thanks for the post#7500. it helped me to know something different but worthy.

I am from Chennai, I use the bike for regular commuting. Here the temperature touches 40 degrees and we do have our share of start-stop traffic. For ten kms I need to wait at 4 signals for 15 min atleast. Now my temperature bar has never risen above 3 bars. I think you should see the ASC. I am not a techfreak but stil do check your coolant oil level and tell us whether you hear the fan working?

Man, Can you please shed light on the 50 km stretch you drive daily. Is it a highway or congested traffic (Incase you still have CBR in mind)

It was not that far on the map.

+1 to nsengg. It should never. Check the coolant level and if that is alright check if the radiator fan starts spinning when it's hot. Whate'er be the case, you should hit the SVC right away.

EDIT: Apologies, didn't notice Chandru had already said about the radiator fan part too.

                              • Completed a month of ownership!!!

Now that I have completed almost one month of torque drenched ownership here are the updates:

1)The bike has awesome torque, and I feel it even more as I upgraded from the R15.
                                2)Riding/cruising with a pillion is a cakewalk,which on the R15 was a pain.
3)The speeds that I used to do on the R15,similar speeds feel much more relaxed on the CBR due to the lower rpms probably(I miss the rush of the high revving R15 though).
4)The bike is heavier/larger than the R15.Thus the R15 was much more agile in traffic whereas the CBR is more composed at higher speeds/crosswinds.
5)Braking on the ABS is spot on but the feedback which you get on the R15 is missing.
6)The engine is not as rev happy as the one on the R15.
7)The quality on the 2012 lot of bikes is pretty good, although the R15 was better still.
8)The fuel sensor on the CBR is on the opposite side as compared to the R15.Saying this because the fuel guage used to show more fuel on R15 when on side stand, but for the CBR it shows less.

                                Grouses:

1)Me too facing issues with the lock especially after riding in rain.It kind of gets stuck and needs some effort to use. Will try WD-40 as some people suggested.Any suggestions as to where I can source it from in bangalore??
                                2)Some vibes around 5k rpm.
3)The suspension setup as of now is super comfy with a pillion, but when riding alone its kind of bouncy.Need to get it adjusted during next service.
4)The front mudguard not being full lenght is a big pain especially with daily rain in bangalore since the last week or so.The front lower part of the engine as well as the radiator gathers so much muck that its a pain to clean.Had no such issues on the R15.
5)Recently I noticed traces of rust on the inner side of the chain. The chain has been lubed twice(using motul clean and lube) after coming out of the showroom and the ODO is at 1700 now.Kind of worried with this. Will the warranty cover such complaints?

                                Queries:
Only query is regarding the C-ABS.The manual says that the ABS is effective at speeds above 10 kmph.Below 10 kmph, when the ABS is not effective the ABS light on the console is on.But what I have noticed is that after starting the bike, the ABS light remains on till you cross 10kmph for the first time.Subsequently, while riding if you slow down to speeds below 10kmph the light does'nt switch on again. Is this how the ABS behaves on all the bikes or am I missing something here?

Overall a big thumbs up to Honda for giving us such a wonderful bike. Its an awesome all rounder,a jack of all trades.Be it commuting, touring, bad roads or anything else,It handles whatever you throw at it without complaining.

OT:The R15 was a very special bike and I still miss it big time
                                Attaching a pic.
