can't agree more. My first front brake pad worn out in 7K and the second one in 3.5K and the riding style/braking or anything is only same. Then why these difference is still a mystery to me and for the same reason I will blame only Honda, infact who else we can blame. Honda can't give a satisfying explanation to this and this topic has been discussed to death here in xbhp and no one can't give a satisfying answer neither

mine is 6000 almost on the clock in 3 months, but pads are still perfect.!
+1 mine is almost 12k old and Front disk pads will last another 2-3k and rear one will last more thn 3k as per mech
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

It is because you use your feet to stop the bike

        • With all these brake pads finishing within 3.5-7k km, aren't racing brake pads (Kevlar / Ceramic) available abroad? Why not import in lots? Does PRS / DSG have them ? Because if they do, you can get them a hell lot cheaper via online shopping.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

          • Just for the records, I'm at 6200 on the ODO, still on original pads. I have a different problem though, probably one of the front brake pistons have gone kaput. Taking to the SVC tomorrow.

For people whom I had promised the bill copy of my accident repairs, please find the same below. Apologies for the delay (and also for the "official mail" type language )

Yeah need to check other options also... There's Kevlar/Ceramic pads in planetdsg which is not suitable for the current model I think.
The first rear pad was changed at around 6-7K and with the unavailability of the pads at that time I opted the P220's and my bike has clocked 12K today and still no sign of wear(touch wood). Some may tell P220's pads are like rock hard etc. But honestly I couldn't find any difference/considerable difference(in the reverse terms) compared with the stock. Reason may be am not that techy guy to distinguish the diff.

Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.

It was not that far on the map.

                  • Any reviews on the 2012 CBRs in term of quality. I have fallen in love with this bike but dont want to pay 1.6lakhs for spending my alternative weekends in svc. My 2004 ZMA is so bulletproof. Sometime feel like getting another ZMA.

Can anyone help with my querry on CBR?

My parked steed was hit by a speeding Indica. The left side plastics were totally gone, along with the radiator. And yes I did claim insurance on it. The pictures below were taken minutes after the accident, of the right and left side respectively.

Hit n run man. I was inside a dhaba at that point of time. And I rode back home, about 80 odd kms, after that accident. This happened in the first week of September, 2011 and I finally got back my bike all repaired on 24th January, 2012.

& why so much delay in repair? Non Availability of parts?
