  • Okay, rode more than 670 kms in the first 4 days including a weekend ride to Chandigarh and back. Initial impressions:

Engine & Transmission: Excellent! Awesome grunt from 5K rpms onwards, went very very easily to 133 kmph from 81kmph in 6th gear. Gearbox is smooth and very precise, no false neutral. Btw, the engine is very different from all HMSI bikes in India till date, not a sedate long stroke Honda.

Handling: Got rid of the chicken strips in the Chanakyapuri roundabouts very easily however cant comment till clock some good kms in the hills.

Build Quality: The plastic quality in the Ninja and R15 are better. But my insurance coverage gives me 100% coverage for plastics and even indicators

Extras: The headlight beam is pretty good. The bike, specially Trinity in Tricolour attracts a whole lot of eyeballs everywhere she goes. The seat is too hard.

I was almost into buying this one and heard the cost of a mirror is around 2500Rs/- so checked cost of other parts also. Damn I can't afford her. My friend(Jain from TVM) had a small slide on the N250R which costed him total around 55K and he will get only 20K as insurance. He's frustrated and thinking of buying another bike for daily commuting. As you said before CBR250R is really VFM bike and I am proud of it. Touchwood
Well, one of my friend's Ninja 250R is lying in probiking since 1.5 years after a crash. He won't get insurance because he don't have a license and was under 18 when the crash occured. He is no longer interested to repair it. The reason is it will cost 4.5 lacs to repair even the damage due to crash is only around 30%.

maybe. But he won't get insurance. He filead a court case but failed. The accident was happend under the traffic camera. Insurance guys have proof that he was ridng the bike at that time and he is underage boy has no valid license.

but its about CBR and two machines with almost same amount of BHP

but its fine lets stay out of comparison and enjoy technology

                        • Guys today i got call from Didar Motors Chennai. I had booked CBR 250 Tri Color C-ABS and the person told me that the bike has come to their godown, but after that he mentioned that the bike is 2011 make. Now, at the first place Tricolor was launched this year and how can it be 2011 make??? and guys does it really make a difference to go in for 2011 make or wait for the 2012 model. He requested me to wait for another 1 month if I want to get the 2012 model?????

Impossible to get a tri-color with 2011 model ! Buy the 2012 model in my opinion ... I have heard there is vast improvement in terms of quality !

Don't think 2011 models coming from Honda...already we are in April....year old models may exists in Jan to mid of Feb....

anyway; you can check the serial/engine and frame number to identify the year of make...complete information of reading a serial/engine and frame number must be there in Manual....

Other CBR owners who have manuals can share more inforamtion on the same...
