Probably I will use it as a spare but then having rubber for lets say 2 years down the line wont it affect the quality ? ( I dont know thats why I am asking )

So they came down ok sir please pay atleast total 750Rs/- (even that price could have come down, but am not a good bargainer ). BTW did you called Sathish for the same?

Bro I completely accept that Rs 1100 is way too high and if you hear the split up figures you and other over here might start laughing because this made me completely furious over ASC attitude even though you are in friendly terms with them .

I will post exactly what happened by tonight !

      • Self Service

hi guys, i have just done 3600kms since dec and had no issues till date. Since i have 2 trips planned in 2 weeks i decided to self service my bike as my next service is @ 6K. i have changed my oil to Motul 7100 10W40. 100% Synthetic. trust me my bike is smoother than silk and moves like a breeze. even better than it was after the first service. i cleaned the chain using Motul chain clean and lube. now the roughness on the foot peg has gone away. i wud thank all the guys on this forum as i could self service my bike with all the tips given through the 700 odd pages.

Cheers and cya after 2 weeks.

              • Galfer brake pads update

I finally received my galfer front brake pads. I got them installed today at Didar T nagar. To sum them up in word, they are grabby. It's like that determinant soldier on the front lines, no two ways about it, you give it an order and it WILL stop. I can now operate the brake lever with a single finger as opposed to two or sometimes three.

On a sidenote, there is this service manager at Didar, who took my bike for a test ride after the installation of disc pads and he didn't expect the bite from the brakes, so he put the bike down while taking a U-turn. Scratches on my brand new exhaust shield i purchased a week ago . I didn't get angry though, such things happen. They offered to replace the exhaust heat shield free of cost, once they have them in stock, but I offered to pay half the price.

Will give a full review of the brake pads once I have used them thoroughly on a trip that is "substantially" long(read atleast 300kms).

P.S:- I have the old brake pads with me, they are still not completely worn out, as a matter of fact, one can easily(read safely) extract another 3000kms usage from them. I will post a picture of them,(used for 15738 kms) if anyone is interested.

                          • Guys is there an issue if I use different tyres in front and rear and by different I mean different brands. Will it affect handling of the bike. Actually I am planning to change my front tyre as the rear was changed just 4-5kms back. I am planning to change my front tyre to PSD. Any idea about the price of PSD for front and ContiGo for front??

You don't have much choices here; hardly about 4 brands, MRF, Conti, Dunlop & PSD.

Rear Tires - If at all you're able to get PSD (140/70 R17), most probably it wouldn't be ISI marked tire, means, imported. Just ensure that the weight of this tire is inline with Conti. MRF ZapperQ has too much treads helps to keep off water from tire making it more ideal to ride in wet conditions; You're only left with Dunlop or Conti. Conti's quality from initial lot is improved, Dunlop seems to be good; fellow xBhpian srivaatsav has it

Front Tire - I've almost no experien ce on this one; ensure 2 things; one, if there're a central grove, its good for wet weather, go grab it ASAP; two, see the area of contact of the front tires on the road as how much they contact. More the contact better the grip (all the soft/med/hard compounds don't work here as all the tires sold here on non grey market are hard compound)

                              Good luck
