. The reason I went for this one is I had a fall on the bike in 2011 and broke the windscreen. As my bike is one in the initial lots, so the spares availability was an issue back then and without any other option I went for that. While saying the quality of the tint on the screen is top notch
.
What's the probs with the suspension setup
. One of the best suspension I could come up with. I understood you talking about race type setup not touring. Try changing it to 3rd(which is the best setup for me) position if you are running on 2nd. You can find a world of difference. My bike came with the rear set to 2, heard the new lots are coming with 3 as standard. As I felt too much bumpy in 2nd with @Aargee's suggestion I changed it to 3rd. Frankly saying it has impact on the top speed also. If you wan't a stiffer suspension try 4 or 5, but ready for your back to take the toll

thanks dude.. then i guess i will get the same screen tinted..
regarding the suspension as of now its on stock so when taking turn on high speed the roll and G comes into picture.. bikes gets a lil wavy.. that is what scares the shit out of me..
will try to set it to stiffer and see how it goes.. thanks for the info bro."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

lucky you mate.. 160 is still the mark i gotta touch.. well just 3k on odo... and hyd roads are horrible.. anything above 100 even in short burst you are running on 100% risk that someone looking at the other lane and crossing the road comes across... and with the conti's.. braking is an issue too. planning for a long ride sometime soon so will check it then.Originally posted by Rider_Puneet View PostEven i have touched 160kmph 10 months back with everything stock on my bike..... check out this video:

Major Inspiration
Originally posted by rachitkohli View PostSurprisingly, Shockingly and Fortunately
Rode quite a bit in rains on straights, ghats, traffic. My cbr performs fantastic in rains. Can easily cut through the traffics on the wet & ride at a high speed comfortably on an open stretch (on wet roads). Its rock solid. CBR loves the monsoon it seems..
Initially, before experiencing rains & riding on wet tarmac, was little skeptical.. But now, am really happy
.
Hey Rachit,
Extremely glad to know the CBR performs well in rains, ive done the shorter rides around Bangalore in rains and it really was confidence inspiring, never felt off the mark. There's a slight sharpness to the ContiGo back tyre that makes it seem like its going to slide when you bend mid tilt, but that i guess is overcome by a little wear on that part of the tyre. I can give a little fright to people new to it.
Im a new CBR owner, just bought the bike less than a month ago, done 4k on it already, just cant hold back riding it. Owned an RE350 Machismo before and did plenty of rides all over the country. But what the CBR feels like is something that cannot be expressed, or riding it is indeed the best form of its expression. Why your posts are inspiring is because im almost set to leave Bangalore for a ride to Dalhousie through Rajhastan, it'll be interesting to pass through the desert state of Rajhastan at the onset of Monsoons. I would need my CBR to be well behaved on wet drives cause i know i'll encounter them. Leaving on July 4th 2012.
Any of you want to run the GQ or any other part for a bit with me is welcome. My Route would be: Bangalore - Pune - Nashik - Indore - Banswara - Udaipur - Ajmer - Bikaner - Amritsar - Dalhousie - Delhi and halt. Envious of the umpteen R15 kiddo clubs that i see doing the Bangalore - Kanakpura bit. But thats about the only thing i'm envious of Yams about
proud that i'm already thinking of a trans India on this baby. What a Bike, the CBR250r.
I've got a question though, how does the bike handle fuel from different stations? I'll try filling in only Shell, Xtra Premium, Speed, HP Power fuels in that order of preference but need to know if there are minor differences in ride quality with fuel type change. This engine has a compression ratio of 10.7:1 (i think) and its common sense that it prefers higher octane rated fuel.
Cheers and kudos to all the riding you do.

Mt Abu or Udaipur? Both have 2-3 hours of riding distance between them. If you're at Mt Abu, then, you've to stay there, no point simply riding up there & coming back.
Instead of Udaipur, stay at Rishabdev which is 30 Km before Udaipur. You get the same great service at half the price of Udaipur + the hotel is located bang on NH8. But if you're riding to Mt Abu from Vadodara, then, this is of no use; its handy only if you ride from Vadodara to Udaipur route.
In RJ, close your eyes & simply book at any RTDC hotel; you get complimentary BFast + offseason discount & most importantly...no one to mess around the bike
Thanks a ton for the advise Aargee, will surely take note of them. And sorry for the delayed response.
How much in advance do i have to book the Rajhasthan Tourism hotels? Can i get a room as a walk in? I've cancelled out Mount Abu will be staying at RTDC if i can get it.
Cheers.

This was going to be my post today. Somehow the bike feels and sounds smooth in the rain compared to on a sunny day. The vibrations have disappeared along with the fairing rattle. I can only hear the exhaust tone everytime i revv and i forget its a single cylinder these days. Only took 2 days in the rain to get that tyre going. Felt much better today.Originally posted by rachitkohli View PostCBR loves the monsoon it seems..

Thanks man.... All the talk about ContiGo s and ABS doing its job well, i have to say that the BYBRE Brakes that Honda provides for the non abs version is seriously good, its top of the line stuff, brilliant control and sensitivity on the fronts.
I had to test drive the ABS version before buying as the fitted version was the TD bike, i gotta say that somehow, by whatever insane stretch of mind, i find the non ABS better. In my opinion only. Lemme tell you folks, the magic of the rear pull back when u decelerate in gear, mixed with controlled back and front brakes - that little bit of rubber on the road just feels sooooooooo goodddd. It really exemplifies the pure balance of design and build on this bike. Just feels so one with me. As for extras and non OEM upgrades, silencers etc, trust me this bike is built well, most of the CBR users own it only from 2011, my suggestion would be to use the bike, squeeze the juice out of it first, enjoy its goodness for a while before thinking of performance upgrades. Remember, automotive development is about balance, when u add thrust/speed you need to know where it'll effect in the scale of balance and is getting that 5kmph extra really worth putting that extra strain on another part (on the drive train maybe)? And is it really worth riding at 160kmph with one arm on the throttle and another on the camera
? There's a fine line between genius and stupid my friend, if Senna can die on a race track, imagine what'll happen on dog prone Indian roads? As a brother mate, ride fast and tell us, we'll believe you, dont do that one handed thing.
Ride on people.
CheersLast edited by Vykier; 07-03-2012, 09:39 PM.

This is the last OT regarding this question...
If its between Jul/Aug/Sep then you can even afford to walk in due to off season.Originally posted by Vykier View PostHow much in advance do i have to book the Rajhasthan Tourism hotels?
I doubt Mt Abu, but still...call them up at Mt Abu & cancel your order.Originally posted by Vykier View PostCan i get a room as a walk in? I've cancelled out Mount Abu will be staying at RTDC if i can get it.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Thx mate, haven't done bookings. Leaving it loose. Done too many treks and rides to want to try out a relatively small little 'Destination Unknown' (the sentence being an insult to Praveen) , no offence bro

Posting after long time
Hi,
This my post after a long time.
I have been busy with my work ... but all in all have clocked 18kms and completed one year owning the CBR on 22nd .
Celebrated it with a ride to Agra from Delhi on the Yamuna Express way .. one of the finest ( arguably the best) roads in India.
Its not officially opened yet.
Its a heaven for people to test htheir vehicles potential .. I was able to maintain speed of around 150 + through out and the Cbr handled it pretty well .. All in all a great ride to mark one year.
So went in for some mods and colour .
Find attached the pic..
Your comments are welcome.Last edited by rajmadhawk; 06-30-2012, 03:58 PM.Safety First ( protective gear)speed next :P
