Picture's are good enough mate! Thanks a lot, I've spoken to my fabricator and he told that it can be done for 1k with a white coat of paint. I was thinking of raising the height a bit more. I had the paddock stand for my R15 V1 and it raised the bike more high which also looked good..Originally posted by samarth14feb View PostPics were taken at night so sorry for the poor clarity. atb
Nalir, going to leave bike for service on Monday only. Spoke to the works manager @ MPL, he told that he would replace tyre and fix all problems!Originally posted by nalir View Posti will leave my bike to service after july 8th and about forks have to check up with cone set ...

Are we really allowed on yamuna expressway?? Last i heards that it not open and also bikers will no be allowed later also..Originally posted by rajmadhawk View PostHi,
This my post after a long time.
I have been busy with my work ... but all in all have clocked 18kms and completed one year owning the CBR on 22nd .
Celebrated it with a ride to Agra from Delhi on the Yamuna Express way .. one of the finest ( arguably the best) roads in India.
Its not officially opened yet.
Its a heaven for people to test htheir vehicles potential .. I was able to maintain speed of around 150 + through out and the Cbr handled it pretty well .. All in all a great ride to mark one year.
So went in for some mods and colour .
Find attached the pic..

At the time of delivery the radiator fins were ok i double checked them but after 2 days and 200km when i looked at the radiator today morning found 10 to 12 fins are bend.I guess stone chips are culprit, tried to straighten them up with a pin and found how easily they can be bend with almost no effort.Bend fins are almost straight but not like new anymore.I heard that radiator costs 4000+ INR can this fin assembly be replaced or restored when most of the fins are bend or it comes as a whole with radiator. Please suggest some remedy for the fins so easily bend.Is it issue with all liquid cooled machine or cbr rad fins are too weak?..HISTORY IS NOT ABOUT WHO IS RIGHT BUT ABOUT WHO WRITES IT.......

New Owner CBR250R Tri-Color
Hello guys
I got my Bike Tricolor Non-ABS delivered yesterday.
Would like to catch up with you guys at G2G.
I went through the ownership thread before I got my bike.
Thanks for immense feedback.
Ciao
EDIT:- I have a query though. If I am not wrong I seem to recollect reading owner manual where they had mentioned keeping the bike ON/engine running at static/signal for 1 minute leads to damage of Cat-Con. so if we keep our bike running at static to say warm up for more than a minute
everyday will it be a problem?Last edited by Galactus.prime; 07-01-2012, 12:17 PM.

The manual says, keeping the engine idling for too long is bad for the cat converter, doesn't mean 1 min. 1 min is almost essential I'd say, don't switch off engine if a signal has less than 60 secs on the clock, constant restarting is more harmful for the engine and the environment. And besides, the right way to check oil levels on this bike, would be to start the bike, keep it on idling for 3-4 mins, switch engine off, let it rest for 3 mins and then check gauge (according to the cbr250r manual).Originally posted by Galactus.prime View Post

So basically a one min warm up is absolutely no prob IMO. I'd say avoid idling for over 4-5 mins, that's going to cause unnecessary heat gen and strain cat converter.
Cheers mate.

It is not unusual for the radiator fins to be bent. I've had the bike for 3months and around 5~10% is bent, it is mostly due to road dirt and all. There are radiator guards available online but seem to be a bit expensive. I remember a post in which the member had made a radiator guard by himself. Nothing to worry about, keep riding until the heat guage only shows 3 bars!Originally posted by BAMBI143 View PostAt the time of delivery the radiator fins were ok i double checked them but after 2 days and 200km when i looked at the radiator today morning found 10 to 12 fins are bend.I guess stone chips are culprit, tried to straighten them up with a pin and found how easily they can be bend with almost no effort.Bend fins are almost straight but not like new anymore.I heard that radiator costs 4000+ INR can this fin assembly be replaced or restored when most of the fins are bend or it comes as a whole with radiator. Please suggest some remedy for the fins so easily bend.Is it issue with all liquid cooled machine or cbr rad fins are too weak?..

Firstly, a radiator radiates heat out drawing temperature from the cylinder to a place that is exposed to heat conducting surface, the bigger the surface area, the better the cooling (so the weak fins, its design not substandard equipment).Originally posted by prithviq8 View PostIt is not unusual for the radiator fins to be bent. Now in regards to dirt/pebbles hitting the radiator, its the only design weakness I see in the CBR, especially on Indian road conditions. However, rectifying it with a home made guard is tricky, since you dont want to block fresh air from hitting the radiator (fresh air to radiator is necessary to keep engine temp at control, especially with the 10-30 grade oil they use and 45 degree C indian summers). A more apt thing would be to design a tyre mudguard, most designs would spoil the overall linear design of the bike though.
Cheers.

Need your help guys..
Bought my bike in May..due to work load just rode 650 odd kms on my bike..1st servicing done with just 490 kms on 5/6/12.
Its been raining quite a bit here in Odisha. My bike was kept well covered except for a little exposure at the rear end.Today I discovered rust in the chain and rear disc.Just wanted to know that whether the problem is with all cbr250s.
I have an Yamaha enticer almost 10 years but never ever seen a trace of rust in chain or sprocket.I am extremely sad after discovering this as I never expected this to come from a bike costing me nearly 2 lacs.HONDA CB250R C-ABS Triple Heron
