    • I think this thread needs one dedicated post with all the spares cost listed followed by a note that "All prices were as per x date at y location and subject to change marginally" so people dont get ripped off by some of these overcharging greedy ASCs.

For those of you who changed the brake pads,
How many kms do you think my brake pads would last?
My front brake pads seem to be worn out already after just 4.5k odd kms even though i heavily rely on engine braking.
Would it be wise to replace just the front for now, or is it recommended to change both at the same time?

attached pics of both front and rear resp.

          • My bike is not going to be ridden for a few months

            Hi Guys!!

Due to some reasons I don't think I would be able to ride my bike for around 4-5 months from now.
Although my dad might try his hand a bit that too only when I would remind him on weekends...
And I also know he wont take it to a speed more than 50...
What all problem can my bike face if such situation arises...
And what can be done to minimize the loss or any issues...

M so gonna miss my Beast...

Honda seems to have modified the caliper, to hold pad lock pinion, from clip lock to screw down like in Nissin Caliper..Is your caliper Nissin by any chance ?....The initial batch CBRs came with pinion lock like in the picture below......and they are Bybre..

Ya got the same setup and running it for +2k kms now. SD in front is excellent in braking. Absolutely brilliant in the rains.
The dunlop is excellent in the dry though a little skiddish on gravel much like the Conti-Go.
Haven't had problems in the wet either. Did Kasara Ghats, Nashik, at around 70-80 throughout in the rains on the tyre and it did not disappoint. Held grip pretty well and was easily able to take turn without skidding even once (Though lesser tyre pressure caused a bit of skidding, possibly because of aquaplaning, on straights for me!)

In short - for touring, no problem. However, in the city, it feels the same as the conti-go to me since the dunlop too needs to be warmed up nicely for best grip.

Improvements: Cornering is far far better on the dunlop since the tyre feels more planted than the Conti-go. Less punctures too so far

Yes. ABS come equipped with Nissin brakes.

                      • Want to ask 3 question; If it possible please reply...

                        1. Is it possible the Battery can't get any charge from the Alternator if the Engine stay below 5000 rpm all the time in City driving condtion ? (Consider 90% drive in broad day light, H/L & other lights turned off...Horn & Break Light Use & occasional Turn Indicator use). Please Note the Right Foot not resting on the Break Paddle, So not possible the Stop Lamp always glowing. No Mod....Bike is stock condition.

                        2. Is it possible if the Bike start in the any gear (preferably 1st) by pressing clutch, The Battery need to supply more amp/volt to the starter motor than starting normally in Neutral postion..and caused battery drainage ? (Again the scenario is Typical daytime commuting with Bumper to Bumper Trafic....and the place is any Trafic signal).

                        ------------
3.When the Bike parked, Is it Ideal postion the chain Rest over the chain slider ? When rolling rear wheel the chain continuously touching the upper portion of the slider...Is it normal ?

                        Thanks in advance......

HISTORY IS NOT ABOUT WHO IS RIGHT BUT ABOUT WHO WRITES IT.......

                              • CBR 250R owners kindly reply to my queries -

                                - What is the maximum speed the bike can attain with/without pillion?
                                - How grippy are the tyres on wet roads, especially during hard braking and taking corner? Any alternatives available for the stock tyres?
                                - What is the fuel tank's usable capacity in liters?
